Book Cross And Crime Jesus Came to Crucify the World The Gospel of Philip

Download or read book Cross And Crime Jesus Came to Crucify the World The Gospel of Philip written by Hans Atrott and published by America Star Books. This book was released on 2015-10-02 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Jesus Christ” denied that there is a “Last Judgement,” “heaven” or “hell” (to come), (see: Lu 17:20-21). “Religion,” “truths” and “love” etc. are that what one makes others believe according to the credo (of megalomania) a) faith shifts mountains (see: Mt 17:20) and the truths anyway and b) “do not resist the evil” (Mt 5:39). Since the sinners, cannot comply with the notions of god, truths, ethics, love, and religion, they shall adapt those terms corresponding to their depravities. Hence, the only thing that came and always is going to occur is the Christians’ criminal record but no heaven.

Since the verdict of death penalty still was pending on him, he contrived the legend of "Saul" and "Paul" under which he secretly lived, while supposedly in heaven. He is the fomenter of the conflagration on Rome in the year 64 as "Last Judgement," "Doomsday" or "Armageddon" he "predicted" for the lifetime of his generation. Who says that he is a wrong prophet?

Book A Thematic Access Oriented Bibliography of Jesus s Resurrection

Download or read book A Thematic Access Oriented Bibliography of Jesus s Resurrection written by Michael J. Alter and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-12-31 with total page 602 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The keystone of Christianity is Jesus’s physical, bodily resurrection. Present-day scholars can be significantly challenged as they forage through voluminous documents on the resurrection of Jesus. The literature measures well over seven thousand sources in English-language books alone. This makes finding specific sources that are most relevant for specific scholarly purposes an arduous task. Even when a specific book is relevant, finding the parts of the book that are most relevant to the resurrection rather than other topics often requires additional effort. A Thematic Access-Oriented Bibliography of Jesus’s Resurrection addresses these challenges in several ways. First, the bibliography organizes more than seven thousand English sources into twelve main categories and then thirty-four subcategories, which are designed to help you find the most relevant literature quickly and efficiently. Embedded are pro and con arguments which support efficient access through brief annotations and then annotate the diversity and complexity of the field of religion by including sources that represent a diverse range of views: theistic (e.g., Christian, Jewish, Muslim, etc.), agnostic, and nontheistic. The objective of this bibliography is to provide convenient access to relevant sources from a variety of perspectives, allowing you to browse or find the one source accurately and with ease.

Book The Homeric Epics and the Gospel of Mark

Download or read book The Homeric Epics and the Gospel of Mark written by Dennis Ronald MacDonald and published by Yale University Press. This book was released on 2000-01-01 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this groundbreaking book, Dennis R. MacDonald offers an entirely new view of the New Testament gospel of Mark. The author of the earliest gospel was not writing history, nor was he merely recording tradition, MacDonald argues. Close reading and careful analysis show that Mark borrowed extensively from the Odyssey and the Iliad and that he wanted his readers to recognise the Homeric antecedents in Mark's story of Jesus. Mark was composing a prose anti-epic, MacDonald says, presenting Jesus as a suffering hero modeled after but far superior to traditional Greek heroes. Much like Odysseus, Mark's Jesus sails the seas with uncomprehending companions, encounters preternatural opponents, and suffers many things before confronting rivals who have made his house a den of thieves. In his death and burial, Jesus emulates Hector, although unlike Hector Jesus leaves his tomb empty. Mark's minor characters, too, recall Homeric predecessors: Bartimaeus emulates Tiresias; Joseph of Arimathea, Priam; and the women at the tomb, Helen, Hecuba, and Andromache. And, entire episodes in Mark mirror Homeric episodes, including stilling the sea, walking on water, feeding the multitudes, the Triumphal E

    Book Details:
  • Author : Laurel Schneider
  • Publisher : Routledge
  • Release : 2007-11-13
  • ISBN : 1135947813
  • Pages : 442 pages

Download or read book Beyond Monotheism written by Laurel Schneider and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2007-11-13 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Laurel Schneider takes the reader on a vivid journey from the origins of "the logic of the One" - only recently dubbed monotheism - through to the modern day, where monotheism has increasingly failed to adequately address spiritual, scientific, and ethical experiences in the changing world. In Part I, Schneider traces a trajectory from the ancient history of monotheism and multiplicity in Greece, Israel, and Africa through the Constantinian valorization of the logic of the One, to medieval and modern challenges to that logic in poetry and science. She pursues an alternative and constructive approach in Part II: a "logic of multiplicity" already resident in Christian traditions in which the complexity of life and the presence of God may be better articulated. Part III takes up the open-ended question of ethics from within that multiplicity, exploring the implications of this radical and realistic new theology for the questions that lie underneath theological construction: questions of belonging and nationalism, of the possibility of love, and of unity. In this groundbreaking work of contemporary theology, Schneider shows that the One is not lost in divine multiplicity, and that in spite of its abstractions, divine multiplicity is realistic and worldly, impossible ultimately to abstract.

Book WILFORD WOODRUFF FOURTH PRESIDENT OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS

Download or read book WILFORD WOODRUFF FOURTH PRESIDENT OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS written by WILFORD WOODRUFF and published by LATTER-DAY STRENGTHS. This book was released on 2022-08-28 with total page 845 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: - This book contains a preface by Matthias F. Cowley. That which is perhaps best known about Wilford Woodruff is the fact that he kept throughout his long and eventful life a careful record, not only of his own life, but of the important affairs in the history of the Church. In bringing that journal within the compass of one volume, it has not always been easy to determine what was the most important for the pages of this biography. All his journals, covering thousands of pages, I have read with such discriminating judgment as I could bring to the task. The reader, therefore, need not be reminded that this biography contains only a small part, the most important part it is hoped, of the things he wrote.

Book The Covenants Second Book in the Biblical Evolution Revolution Series

Download or read book The Covenants Second Book in the Biblical Evolution Revolution Series written by Michael Stansfield and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-09-05 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PART 1, delves deep into the Abrahamic Covenant and uses it, rather than the Messianic Covenant, to interpret the Old Testament. This singular change reveals an intriguing perspective with the hope of generating peace and love between Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. The viewpoint is a direct challenge the mainstream beliefs of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. With the discussion of Islam, the author's perspective of the Quran is used as an intrical part of the prophecy, rather than as an opposing viewpoint. The discussion is candid and in-depth. Specifically, related to the Jewish Palestinian Conflict as well as the War on Terror. PART 2, looks at the Bible through the eyes of the Levitical Covenant. Striking differences are revealed between God's covenant to Moses and His covenant with Aaron. At the same time, unexpected unions are discovered between the Levitical Covenant and the covenants of Cain, Canaan's, Esau's, and others. Biblical references are abundant for each conclusion.
