Book excerpt: Excerpt from Italian Conversation-Grammar on Otto's System This Grammar, based on that of Robello and others, claims to be all that is necessary for the study of the elements of the Italian language. Great pains have been taken to present the verbs in a clear, concise manner; and though, for the sake of easy comparison, they are placed at the end of the book, the student is requested to study a part of them with every lesson. It is hoped that this little work will fill the place for which it is intended. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book Italian Conversation Grammar

Download or read book Italian Conversation Grammar written by Charles Marquard Sauer and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2019-02-08 with total page 454 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Italian Conversation-Grammar: A New and Practical Method of Learning the Italian Language We begin by dividing the grammar into two Parts, the first of which contains the principles of the language, whereas the second gives the Syntax. The lessons of the first part, each complete in itself, consist of a' few short rules, exemplified by a Reading Exercise and a T rans lation, and followed by a Vocabulary. At the end of each chapter we subjoin a Dialogue which, written entirely in the foreign tongue, exhibits once more, by showing how they are to be employed, the rules and the words which the pupil has learned in this particular lesson. The advantage of these dialogues is evident. Every one who has occupied himself with the study of modern languages knows that by far the more difficult task is to understand the foreign language. Accustomed from the very beginning to having the questions Of those dia lognes, about subjects with which he has become familiar through the preceding translation, put to him in Italian, and to answering them in the same language, the learner at once practises his ear and tongue, and, in a very short time, is enabled to express his thoughts fluently and correctly in the foreign idiom. Book Elementary Italian Grammar Classic Reprint

Download or read book Elementary Italian Grammar Classic Reprint written by Pietro Motti and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-02-08 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Elementary Italian Grammar In writing this little grammar of my native language, it has been my chief object to exhibit in as clear and easy a form as possible the main features of the accidence and syntax combined in their applications to those words and phrases which are most frequently employed in polite conversation. The Italian language, as now Spoken und written by the educated classes, is very simple and precise. Long periods and intricate inversions are no longer in use. We admire them in the works of our standard authors of by-gone ages, but we take great care not to imitate them. Thus, without losing anything of its former grace and harmony, the Italian language has become in this century a very easy language too. This book being intended for beginners and travellers, I have added to it, in the form of an Appendix, a selec tion of useful words and phrases, which, it is confidently hoped, will greatly assist pupils wishing to speak the language as soon as possible. Italian Conversation Simplified; IV. A Key to the Exercises in the Grammar Among other improvements, copious exercises on the Subjunctive Mood have been added; and'the Polite Form has been introduced much earlier in the course than was the case with the original edition. Throughout the Key, this form of address is given side by side with the ordinary Second Person Plural, it being essential that students should be come thoroughly familiar with both. The pronunciation of every new word is given in the early lessons; but as every Italian word is pronounced ao cording to the few simple rules given on pages 5 to 9, the student can hardly give the wrong sound to any letter or combination of letters, after a week or two's practice. Book Italian Conversation For Schools And Colleges Classic Reprint

Download or read book Italian Conversation For Schools And Colleges Classic Reprint written by M. C. Catalano and published by . This book was released on 2015-08-08 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Italian Conversation For Schools And Colleges This manual is intended to give students of Italian something definite to talk about, and to offer them a model and material for conversation. Each lesson has an introductory part which should be read aloud in the class and studied until the student has become thoroughly familiar with the phrases contained therein. Then follows a list of words related to the topic, but only such as are absolutely necessary and of most common use. These should be rendered into English, and their use studied in connection with the examples of modern conversation immediately following. The introduction, vocabulary and conversation of each lesson are however merely suggestive, and are not intended to replace the work of the teacher, who is indeed expected to enlarge on each as he thinks best. Thus, this is not a grammar, nor a composition book, nor indeed a vocabulary, of which there are already some excellent ones; it is simply a guide to teachers and students, and I hope it may be found useful. My gratitude is due to Professor W. H. Fraser, of the University of Toronto, for the encouragement and valuable suggestions given me.
