Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. In The Ideal Team Player, Lencioni tells the story of Jeff Shanley, a leader desperate to save his uncle’s company by restoring its cultural commitment to teamwork. Jeff must crack the code on the virtues that real team players possess, and then build a culture of hiring and development around those virtues. Beyond the fable, Lencioni presents a practical framework and actionable tools for identifying, hiring, and developing ideal team players. Whether you’re a leader trying to create a culture around teamwork, a staffing professional looking to hire real team players, or a team player wanting to improve yourself, this book will prove to be as useful as it is compelling.

Book Lenten Healing

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ken Kniepmann
  • Publisher : Ave Maria Press
  • Release : 2018-01-05
  • ISBN : 1594717966
  • Pages : 192 pages

Download or read book Lenten Healing written by Ken Kniepmann and published by Ave Maria Press. This book was released on 2018-01-05 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on the popular spiritual healing program designed by Bob Schuchts and the John Paul II Healing Center, Lenten Healing offers a twist to traditional Lenten fasting: instead of giving up chocolate, give up your sin. This daily Lenten devotional offers a unique approach to fasting, helping you reexamine the psychological and spiritual roots of sin in your life while sharing reflections and prayer exercises for overcoming sinful habits and acquiring virtuous ones. Lent is the ideal time to identify and address "spiritual blind spots"—unacknowledged emotional wounds and false ideas that hinder your prayer life and worship. During each week of Lent, Ken Kniepmann of the John Paul II Healing Center breaks open one of the seven deadly sins (pride, lust, gluttony, sloth, anger, envy, and greed) and its corresponding virtue (humility, chastity, abstinence, diligence, patience, kindness, and liberality). You'll start by learning about the sin and how it manifests itself in daily life and thought patterns. Then you'll move into reflection and prayer exercises that guide you through the process of renouncing that week's sin and resolving to adopt that week's virtue. Fasting, the practice of giving up pleasures or comforts, allows us to grow in holiness by putting our desires to a kind of death. Obvious examples include giving up a habit such as a favorite food, sleeping in, or late-night TV—but what happens when you try to give up your sins while recognizing the deeper reasons you commit them in the first place? By seeing those connections and praying specifically for God's insight, healing, and revelation, you’ll be able to experience God’s mercy and love to a greater capacity. Kniepmann helps you see how the depth of Catholic teaching is connected to your daily life. Sin isn't just an activity; it is a place of the heart (the interior life) and the movement of the heart (toward or away from sin) as related to thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. By the time Easter arrives, you'll possess a deeper understanding of sin and emotional wounds as impediments to intimacy with God and come away with tangible, practical tools for addressing those impediments in your life.

Book Radical Humility

  • Release : 2021-03-16
  • ISBN : 9781948742962
  • Pages : 176 pages

Download or read book Radical Humility written by Rebekah Modrak and published by . This book was released on 2021-03-16 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How does humility feature as a part of human experience, and how can opportunities to decenter the self empower us through present day circumstances? Radical Humility is a collection of essays written by people attempting to be humble at a time when public humility is scarce. Contributors come from a diverse group of experts, activists, makers, scholars, and practitioners: philosophers, psychologists, artists; a librarian, a farmer, a lawyer, a U.S. Navy Captain, and others who've reflected upon the role of humility. Some are leading scholars in their field; others are as-yet unpublished writers. All--the farmer, the librarian, the journalist, the sailor--speak to the ordinary everyday actions that offer significant opportunity for restraint and reflection to empower us personally and politically. For every person who feels uneasy and diminished after subjecting the most intimate parts of their lives to Likes and Followers, and for every person who is uneasy with presidential boasting and disregard for truth, Radical Humility's writers' perspectives are crucial at this turning point in our personal and political lives. Contributors: Aaron Ahuvia, Russell Belk, Charles M. Blow, Richard C. Boothman, Agnes Callard, Lynette Clemetson, Tyler Denmead, Nadia Danienta, Mickey Duzyj, Kevin Em, Eranda Jayawickreme, Kevin Hamilton, Eranda Jayawickreme, Troy Jollimore, Melissa Koenig, Aric Rindfleisch, Valerie Tiberius, and Ami Walsh

Book excerpt: Ken Boa hits the mark. You don't have to look very far today to come across "popular" ideas of leadership that try hard to mimic biblical principles. The problem is that's all they do... mimic. Boa propels leadership a giant step forward with the revelation of the ultimate Christian leadership model. Boa rejects the compromises found in much of today's teaching that force-fit secular standards into a biblical mold—ideas that hover around humanistic ideas of fairness, kindness, and basic morality. Instead, Boa challenges leaders to do a serious evaluation of their approach and to follow the leadership qualities exhibited by God in his Word.

Hence it can be called the soul of all intelligences. Spiritual Intelligence enhances our power to inspire others by transforming their souls in such a way that their desires and aspirations are aligned in a single direction. Soul is beyond all reason and intellect. It is, in fact, the source of mind and intellect. One who knows his soul knows the universe, since soul is nothing but the microcosm of the universe. This book explains this body-soul continuum and suggests practical steps to evolve through the body-senses-mind-intellect to reach our soul. Welcome to this new path of spiritual evolution.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hello, Readers, To God be the glory. I would like to take a little time to tell you about this book that I have written and how God led me to write it. Over the years of growth, I can truly say I have developed a personal relationship with Christ. He speaks to me; he tells me things that only Christ could tell me. He often gives me messages in the form of poems. That, only God can do! God gives me the words, and I simply write them down. I remember the first poem Christ gave me. It was a home-going poem for my father. On June 19, 2007, my father went to glory. I wanted to say something about my father publicly, but I had a fear of speaking before crowds. There was something about speaking before a crowd that always gave me a feeling of fear. I couldn’t let this fear stop me from letting the world know how I felt about this great man. I needed to write something down to let people know how I felt about him. I experienced a lot of sleepless nights trying to think of words worthy of my feelings for him. Two days before the home-going, I was awakened at 2:00 a.m. by what I believe to be the Holy Spirit. I went into another room, and within an hour, I had written a poem that I felt was worthy enough to tell. The church clerk read the poem and mentioned that I wrote it. I was complemented for the words I wrote. All I could say was “to God be the glory.” Here is the first poem I wrote, entitled “Greet Us with A Smile.” Good night, Daddy, we’ll see you in a while When we get to heaven, you’ll greet us with a smile Mama, Kenny, Bruce, and the rest We want to thank you, Daddy, for giving us your best Go ahead and sleep, Daddy. Go ahead and rest We’ll see you in the morning, though I must confess We’re really going to miss you but only for a while Because when we get to heaven, you’ll greet us with a smile Thank you, Jesus, for letting us borrow him this long Help us to understand that it was time for him to go home But we all know it’s only for a while Because when we get to heaven, you’ll greet us with a smile With all the love that a family could give You’ll always be with us because in us, you’ll always live Go ahead and sleep, Daddy, but only for a while Because when we get to heaven, I know you’ll greet us with a smile In loving memory of John Edwin Longuemire, Sr. May 31, 1926–June 19, 2007
