Book Islamic Values and Management Practices

Download or read book Islamic Values and Management Practices written by Maqbouleh M. Hammoudeh and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-05-06 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author of this thought provoking addition to Gower's Transformation and Innovation Series has worked as a management consultant in the Arab Middle East for 25 years. In Islamic Values and Management Practices she acknowledges that businesses and other organizations in the region face urgent concerns in relation to quality and transformation, but argues that these issues might be more appropriately addressed by the application of an Islamic Management Model, rather than the 'Western' one hitherto applied. Over time, a set of management systems based on Islamic values has been developed by the author. These systems recognise the need to build human organizations, socially and politically as well as commercially, and also the recognition that for Muslims, justice is the ultimate value, bringing balance between the individual's soul and spirit on the one hand, and the organization's soul and spirit on the other. This Islamic management model stresses that effectiveness is an outcome of operating efficiently and at the same time unifying the organization's objectives with those of its employees and wider society, and ensuring that at the strategic level the long view is always maintained. Recounting her own personal and business journey, Maqbouleh Hammoudeh presents the outcomes of research that has tested the application of the Islamic Management Model and its ability to deliver the desired quality and transformation outcomes in a major civic or profit making organization. At a time when many practitioners and business educators are seeking new management approaches, this revealing case study sheds light on the evolution of a contemporary theory of management for the Muslim World.

Book Islamic Management Practices in Financial Institutions

Download or read book Islamic Management Practices in Financial Institutions written by Khaliq Ahmad and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-12-30 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book draws on a range of theoretical foundations, approaches and management practices that are culturally and jurisdictionally appropriate in several Muslim countries. As such, it contributes to an emerging specialism in comparative management and leadership theory that is oriented toward a broader and more diverse set of perspectives, particularly from the non-Western world, given that the importance of values, ethics, and culture have recently been recognized as a key contributing factor to management knowledge development. The author offers an in-depth overview of the Islamic management strategies that have successfully been implemented in selected Malaysian banking and non-banking financial institutions and then outlines how the application of such strategies leads to increased integrity, efficiency and performance. The book is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the introduction, historical background and methods used in collection of data. The second part consists of a range of real-world case studies, while part three deals with the approaches to be used in the teaching of these cases followed by conclusions and recommendations. These cases studies map the strategic aspects of organizational structure and illustrate the motives that influence Malaysian managers’ choices in seeking specific responses to the situations at hand, which are in harmony with the traditions in Islamic inquiry. As such, management scholars can build a foundation for conceptual and theoretical propositions relevant to Muslim culture and environment that will have practical significance. The book provides a wealth of information and enables researchers not only to identify the determinants of knowledge structure and its context but also the evolution of practice.

Book The Role of Islamic Spirituality in the Management and Leadership Process

Download or read book The Role of Islamic Spirituality in the Management and Leadership Process written by Abdul Mutalib, Mahazan and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2021-05-07 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Leaders nowadays need to know, learn, and apply the concept of qalb leadership where it has been taught by the Prophet Muhammad as well as explained by Islamic scholars. The comparison with other mindful leadership concepts is required to provide solutions and options in leadership for better outcomes and spiritual awareness. It is found that leadership literature, in general, is unable to generate an understanding of a leadership concept that is both intellectually compelling and emotionally satisfying. As for qalb leadership, it focuses on the spirituality of leadership that can aid in facing unpredictable manners and provide better outcomes for followers. Research on Islamic leadership and spirituality may pave the way for better leadership practices in the future. The Role of Islamic Spirituality in the Management and Leadership Process will elaborate the spirituality and qalb in human life and leadership along with providing a discussion on the role and function of qalb in the overall leadership process. Through spirituality, human interdependence, creativity, and social justice can be created and molded. This type of leadership enables transformation in a natural way without denying basic human nature and imparts balance to both the outer and inner needs of humans. With the discussion of four cardinal virtues of Al-Ghazali, leaders can solve many problems that emerge in their organizations. This book is ideal for managers, executives, theologians, professionals, researchers, academicians, and students who are interested in how Islamic spirituality plays a role in leadership.

Book Intercultural Transfer of Management Practices of German MNC to Brazil

Download or read book Intercultural Transfer of Management Practices of German MNC to Brazil written by Madeleine Bausch and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-07-14 with total page 411 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multinational companies transfer managerial practices such as quality management globally. Studies from different perspectives have examined cultural, institutional, and organizational challenges in practice transfer, however, little is known about the micro-processes of intercultural transfer, especially in complex cultural settings as Brazil. Integrating the recontextualization perspective and Scandinavian institutionalist transfer-as-translation approach, this book explores micro-processes of transfer from German MNC to Brazilian subsidiaries from a multiple cultures perspective. Findings show the complementary nature of micro-processes of translation and recontextualization, embedding them into a process model of four stages: Preparation, translation, recontextualization, and institutionalization. Intercultural transfer can be considered an iterative and multi-level process in which practices diffuse from individuals, to teams, to the organization. The book contributes to international management by cross-fertilizing the two approaches, by highlighting cultural and institutional particularities of the Brazilian context using a culturally sensitive methodology, and by showing the transformative power of managerial practices on organizations and ecosystems.

Book Islamic Marketing

Download or read book Islamic Marketing written by Čedomir Nestorović and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-05-28 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyzes the current Islamic marketing environment. Since the Muslim world is extremely diverse in terms of economic development, customs and traditions and political and legal systems, it is vital for companies and marketers to analyze the environment before attempting to address these markets. The author emphasizes that it is ineffectual to elaborate the distribution and promotion strategies if the market does not exist in terms of purchasing power or demographics, if potential consumers do not believe that products and services answer their needs and demands or if there are political and legal barriers to companies wanting to enter these markets. The book offers detailed insights into the economic, socio-cultural, and politico-legal environment in the Muslim world, which are essential for marketers to understand and form the foundations of effective marketing strategies.
