Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Blended learning is more than just "teaching with technology"; it allows teachers to maximize learning through deliberate instructional moves. This On-Your-Feet Guide zeroes in on one blended learning routine: Station Rotation. The Station Rotation model moves small groups of students through a series of online and off-line stations, building conceptual understanding and skills along the way. This On-Your-Feet-Guide provides: 7 steps to planning a Station Rotation lesson A full example of one teacher's Station Rotation A blank planning template for designing your own Station Rotation Helpful assessment strategies for monitoring learning at each station Ideas to adapt for low-tech classrooms or large class sizes Use blended learning to maximize learning and keep kids constantly engaged through your next Station Rotation lesson! Laminated, 8.5”x11” tri-fold (6 pages), 3-hole punched
Download or read book Strongly Interacting Matter under Rotation written by Francesco Becattini and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-07-19 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses the needs of growing community of graduate students and researchers new to the area, for a survey that covers a wide range of pertinent topics, summarizes the current status of the field, and provides the necessary pedagogical materials for newcomers. The investigation of strongly interacting matter under the influence of macroscopic rotational motion is a new, emerging area of research that encompasses a broad range of conventional physics disciplines such as nuclear physics, astrophysics, and condensed matter physics, where the non-trivial interplay between global rotation and spin is generating many novel phenomena. Edited and authored by leading researchers in the field, this book covers the following topics: thermodynamics and equilibrium distribution of rotating matter; quantum field theory and rotation; phase structure of QCD matter under rotation; kinetic theory of relativistic rotating matter; hydrodynamics with spin; magnetic effects in fluid systems with high vorticity and charge; polarization measurements in heavy ion collisions; hydrodynamic modeling of the QCD plasma and polarization calculation in relativistic heavy ion collisions; chiral vortical effect; rotational effects and related topics in neutron stars and condensed matter systems.
Download or read book Blended Learning in Action written by Catlin R. Tucker and published by Corwin Press. This book was released on 2016-09-03 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shift to blended learning to transform education Blended learning has the power to reinvent education, but the transition requires a new approach to learning and a new skillset for educators. Loaded with research and examples, Blended Learning in Action demonstrates the advantages a blended model has over traditional instruction when technology is used to engage students both inside the classroom and online. Readers will find: Breakdowns of the most effective classroom setups for blended learning Tips for leaders Ideas for personalizing and differentiating instruction using technology Strategies for managing devices in schools Questions to facilitate professional development and deeper learning
Download or read book Stellar Rotation written by A. Slettebak and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 363 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Astronomical Union Colloquium on Stellar Rotation was held at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, U.S.A. from September 8th through 11 th, 1969. Forty-four scientists from Argentina, Belgium, Canada, England, Finland, East and West Germany, Italy, Israel, Japan, The Netherlands, and the United States attended and participated in the Colloquium. The present volume, which parallels the actual program closely, contains the papers presented at the Colloquium plus most of the discussion following those papers. The Colloquium was sponsored by the International Astronomical Union, the Ohio State University, and the National Science Foundation. It is a pleasure to record my thanks to these organizations and especially to Dr. Geoffrey Keller, Dean of the College of Mathematics and Physical Sciences of the Ohio State University, and to Prof. C. de Jager, Assistant General Secretary of the International Astronomical Un ion, for their kind cooperation. I am also grateful to H. A. Abt, J. Hardorp, R. P. Kraft, Mrs. A. Massevitch, M. Plavec, 1. W. Roxburgh, and E. Schatzman of the Organizing Committee, as well as A. J. Deutsch and G. W. Collins, II, for their help in planning the Colloquium all of them offered valuable suggestions toward organizing the program.

Download or read book Physics Formation and Evolution of Rotating Stars written by Andre Maeder and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-12-19 with total page 832 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rotation is ubiquitous at each step of stellar evolution, from star formation to the final stages, and it affects the course of evolution, the timescales and nucleosynthesis. Stellar rotation is also an essential prerequisite for the occurrence of Gamma-Ray Bursts. In this book the author thoroughly examines the basic mechanical and thermal effects of rotation, their influence on mass loss by stellar winds, the effects of differential rotation and its associated instabilities, the relation with magnetic fields and the evolution of the internal and surface rotation. Further, he discusses the numerous observational signatures of rotational effects obtained from spectroscopy and interferometric observations, as well as from chemical abundance determinations, helioseismology and asteroseismology, etc. On an introductory level, this book presents in a didactical way the basic concepts of stellar structure and evolution in "track 1" chapters. The other more specialized chapters form an advanced course on the graduate level and will further serve as a valuable reference work for professional astrophysicists.
