Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrical Engineering System Identification A Frequency Domain Approach How does one model a linear dynamic system from noisy data? This book presents a general approach to this problem, with both practical examples and theoretical discussions that give the reader a sound understanding of the subject and of the pitfalls that might occur on the road from raw data to validated model. The emphasis is on robust methods that can be used with a minimum of user interaction. Readers in many fields of engineering will gain knowledge about: * Choice of experimental setup and experiment design * Automatic characterization of disturbing noise * Generation of a good plant model * Detection, qualification, and quantification of nonlinear distortions * Identification of continuous- and discrete-time models * Improved model validation tools and from the theoretical side about: * System identification * Interrelations between time- and frequency-domain approaches * Stochastic properties of the estimators * Stochastic analysis System Identification: A Frequency Domain Approach is written for practicing engineers and scientists who do not want to delve into mathematical details of proofs. Also, it is written for researchers who wish to learn more about the theoretical aspects of the proofs. Several of the introductory chapters are suitable for undergraduates. Each chapter begins with an abstract and ends with exercises, and examples are given throughout.

This book was released on 2015-09-01 with total page 417 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to the demands of research and industrial centers for diagnostics, monitoring and decision making systems that result from the increasing complexity of automation and systems, the need to ensure the highest level of reliability and safety, and continuing research and the development of innovative approaches to fault diagnosis. The contributions combine domains of engineering knowledge for diagnosis, including detection, isolation, localization, identification, reconfiguration and fault-tolerant control. The book is divided into six parts: (I) Fault Detection and Isolation; (II) Estimation and Identification; (III) Robust and Fault Tolerant Control; (IV) Industrial and Medical Diagnostics; (V) Artificial Intelligence; (VI) Expert and Computer Systems.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Fourth International Conference on Advanced Robotics was held in Columbus, Ohio, U. S. A. on June 13th to 15th, 1989. The first two conferences in this series were held in Tokyo. The third was held in Versailles, France in October 1987. The International Conference on Advanced Robotics is affiliated with the International Federation of Robotics. This conference was sponsored by The Ohio State University. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers was a cooperating co-sponsor. The objective of the International Conference on Advanced Robotics is to provide an international exchange of information on the topic of advanced robotics. This was adopted as one of the themes for international research cooperation at a meeting of representatives of seven industrialized countries held in Williamsburg, U. S. A. in May 1983. The present conference is truly international in character with contributions from authors of twelve countries. (Bulgaria, Canada, France, Great Britain, India, Italy, Japan, Peoples Republic of China, Poland, Republic of China, Spain, United States of America.) The subject matter of the papers is equally diverse, covering most technical areas of robotics. The authors are distinguished. They are leaders in the field in their respective countries. The International Conference on Advanced Robotics has always particularly encouraged papers oriented to the design of robotic systems, or to research directed at advanced applications in service robotics, construction, nuclear power, agriculture, mining, underwater systems, and space systems.

Download or read book Identification of Continuous Time Systems written by N.K. Sinha and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1991-07-31 with total page 670 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In view of the importance of system identification, the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) and the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS) hold symposia on this topic every three years. Interest in continuous time approaches to system identification has been growing in recent years. This is evident from the fact that the of invited sessions on continuous time systems has increased from one in the 8th number Symposium that was held in Beijing in 1988 to three in the 9th Symposium in Budapest in 1991. It was during the 8th Symposium in August 1988 that the idea of bringing together important results on the topic of Identification of continuous time systems was conceived. Several distinguished colleagues, who were with us in Beijing at that time, encouraged us by promising on the spot to contribute to a comprehensive volume of collective work. Subsequently, we contacted colleagues all over the world, known for their work in this area, with a formal request to contribute to the proposed volume. The response was prompt and overwhelmingly encouraging. We sincerely thank all the authors for their valuable contributions covering various aspects of identification of continuous time systems.
