Book excerpt: Como un insumo para el proyecto Programa de Acción ante el Cambio Climático para el Estado de Nuevo León? se realizó el inventario estatal de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI) para los sectores Energía, Procesos industriales, Desperdicios y Agricultura, silvicultura y otros usos de la tierra (AFOLU, por sus siglas en inglés). La metodología empleada para el cálculo de las emisiones de carbono para el sector AFOLU se basó en el procedimiento establecido en las Directrices del Panel Intergubernamental de Cambio Climático (IPCC) para los Inventarios Nacionales de Gases de Efecto Invernadero, versión 2006. Con base en la información recopilada y disponible para el Sector AFOLU, se eligió utilizar el método sectorial para el nivel 1 descrito en la guía metodológica para el año base 2002. El total de emisiones en unidades equivalentes de dióxido de carbono (CO2eq) fue de 3,196.56 gigagramos (Gg) para el Sector AFOLU, que corresponden a promedios anuales de GEI para el periodo de 1993 a 2002. Para la estimación de esta equivalencia se consideraron emisiones de CO2, CH4 y N2O, con 2,269.46, 499.35 y 427.75 Gg de CO2eq, respectivamente para cada tipo de gas. La categoría con más emisiones dentro del sector es la de Tierras (en la que se consideran los cambios de usos de suelo) con 1,964.39 Gg de CO2eq para el año base (61.45%), seguida por la categoría de Ganado con 508.3 Gg de CO2eq (15.3%) y la categoría de Fuentes agregadas y fuentes de emisión de gases distintos del CO2 de la tierra con 431.83 Gg de CO2eq (13.51%). La categoría de Otros emite 292.04 Gg de CO2eq (9.14%) que corresponden en su totalidad a la subcategoría productos de madera recolectada.

Book excerpt: La presente investigación se realizó con el propósito de obtener un Inventario de Emisiones de Carbono a la atmósfera por fuentes antropogénicas para el estado de Nuevo León en el año 2005. Para ello se estimaron las emisiones de carbono a la atmósfera para los sectores Energía, Procesos Industriales, Agricultura, Ganadería y Residuos, de acuerdo a la clasificación y metodología utilizada por el IPCC. A continuación se analizó la calidad de los datos para de igual forma proponer estrategias de mitigación y por último se identificaron los sectores y actividades que generan alta emisión de carbono. Los resultados del presente estudio poseen valor teórico, utilidad práctica, relevancia social, por su conveniencia y beneficios que aporta para el Programa de Acción ante el cambio climático para el estado de Nuevo León. Se empleó la metodología desarrollada por IPCC para el cálculo de los Inventarios Nacionales de Gases de Efecto Invernadero, versión revisada de 1996, se uso la información disponible de las actividades antropogénicas que se presentan en el Estado para el año 2005, como son los consumos de combustibles, producción de bienes, la ganadería, la agricultura y residuos. En base a la información recopilada para el Estado, se eligió utilizar el método sectorial para el Nivel 1. Los resultados demuestran que el sector que más contribuye a la emisión de gases que contienen carbono, es el Sector de Energía, donde se identifican las actividades de las Industria de Jurisdicción Federal y el Transporte en el Estado como las que más contribuyen en un 53% y 38% respectivamente en base a las emisiones de CO2 (18,845.9 Gg de CO2 equivalente). Esto mismo nos indica que para poder implementar estrategias más eficientes es necesario un estudio complementario al presente inventario con el fin de poder contar con mayor información que nos ayude a establecer un Programa de Acción para enfrentar el cambio climático en el estado mitigando así el impacto de las actividades humanas en el medio ambiente.

El presente trabajo analizo la concentracion de CO2 liberado a la atmosfera por consumo de lena en las comunidades rurales de Durango a traves de la metodologia IPPC-1996 y sirvan de base para proponer medidas de mitigacion en el estado de Durango. Se presenta el numero de habitantes que consumen lena, la cantidad de lena consumida y el numero de localidades rurales en el estado de Durango que consumen este combustible. Asimismo, se contribuye a tener un inventario por consumo de biomasa muerta en forma de lena que puede ser util para las instancias de gobierno, investigacion y educacion. Tambien, se presenta un estudio detallado por tipo de vegetacion sobre el consumo de lena a nivel municipal y UMAFOR y se da a conocer la contribucion del consumo de lena en el sector rural"
