Book Electromagnetic Waves 1

Download or read book Electromagnetic Waves 1 written by and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2021-05-11 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electromagnetic Waves 1 examines Maxwell’s equations and wave propagation. It presents the scientific bases necessary for any application using electromagnetic fields, and analyzes Maxwell’s equations, their meaning and their resolution for various situations and material environments. These equations are essential for understanding electromagnetism and its derived fields, such as radioelectricity, photonics, geolocation, measurement, telecommunications, medical imaging and radio astronomy. This book also deals with the propagation of electromagnetic, radio and optical waves, and analyzes the complex factors that must be taken into account in order to understand the problems of propagation in a free and confined space. Electromagnetic Waves 1 is a collaborative work, completed only with the invaluable contributions of Ibrahima Sakho, Hervé Sizun and JeanPierre Blot, not to mention the editor, Pierre-Noël Favennec. Aimed at students and engineers, this book provides essential theoretical support for the design and deployment of wireless radio and optical communication systems.

Book Electromagnetic Waves in Stratified Media

Download or read book Electromagnetic Waves in Stratified Media written by James R. Wait and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1995 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Long recognized as a classic in the field, this book offers comprehensive coverage of radio waves in stratified media. Well-known authority James R. Wait guides you through a broad range of physical problems using a wealth of experimental data that is particularly relevant to current studies of radiowave transmission in both terrestrial and extraterrestrial environments. Electromagnetic Waves in Stratified Media features a clear explanation of the Mode Theory of wave propagation, complete with supporting physical examples; a concise analysis of modes, rays, and their equivalencies; thorough coverage of asymptotic (high-frequency) developments; applications to telecommunications for frequencies from ELF to SHF (10 Hz to Gig Hz); and much more. It is a must-have book for every engineer in the field.

Book Transmission and Propagation of Electromagnetic Waves

Download or read book Transmission and Propagation of Electromagnetic Waves written by K. F. Sander and published by CUP Archive. This book was released on 1986-10-23 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edition of an established textbook presents aspects of electromagnetic theory of direct relevance to the transmission of information by electromagnetic waves. In revising the first edition the authors have taken the opportunity to extend the coverage significantly by adding new material on optical transmission. Throughout, the theory is applied to the working of practical systems, and the constraints imposed by fundamental properties are emphasised.

Book Advanced Electromagnetic Waves

Download or read book Advanced Electromagnetic Waves written by Saad Bashir and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2015-11-18 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book endeavors to give the reader a strong base in the advanced theory of electromagnetic waves and its applications, while keeping pace with research in various other disciplines that apply electrostatics/electrodynamics theory. The treatment is highly mathematical, which tends to obscure the principles involved.

Book Electromagnetic Waves Propagation in Complex Matter

Download or read book Electromagnetic Waves Propagation in Complex Matter written by Gustaf Kron and published by . This book was released on 2016-04-01 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electromagnetic waves are waves which can travel through the vacuum of outer space. Mechanical waves, unlike electromagnetic waves, require the presence of a material medium in order to transport their energy from one location to another. Light, microwaves, xrays, and TV and radio transmissions are all kinds of electromagnetic waves. They are all the same kind of wavy disturbance that repeats itself over a distance called the wavelength. The mechanism of energy transport through a medium involves the absorption and reemission of the wave energy by the atoms of the material. When an electromagnetic wave impinges upon the atoms of a material, the energy of that wave is absorbed. The absorption of energy causes the electrons within the atoms to undergo vibrations. After a short period of vibrational motion, the vibrating electrons create a new electromagnetic wave with the same frequency as the first electromagnetic wave. While these vibrations occur for only a very short time, they delay the motion of the wave through the medium. Once the energy of the electromagnetic wave is reemitted by an atom, it travels through a small region of space between atoms. Once it reaches the next atom, the electromagnetic wave is absorbed, transformed into electron vibrations and then reemitted as an electromagnetic wave. Electromagnetic Waves Propagation in Complex Matter emphasizes the topics of wave propagation and interaction with matters. The book bridges the gap between physics and engineering in these issues.
