Book excerpt: Neutrosophic sets are powerful logics designed to facilitate understanding of indeterminate and inconsistent information; many types of incomplete or complete information can be expressed as interval valued neutrosophic sets (IVNSs). This paper proposes improved aggregation operation rules for IVNSs, and extends the generalized weighted aggregation (GWA) operator to work congruently with IVNS data. The aggregated results are also expressed as IVNSs, which are characterized by truth membership degree, indeterminacy-membership degree, and falsity-membership degree. The proposed method is proved to be the maximum approximation to the original data, and maintains most of the information during data processing. Then, a method is proposed to determine the ranking orders for all alternatives according to their comparative advantage matrices based on their general score, degree of accuracy and degree of certainty expressed by the aggregated IVNSs. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the applicability and efficiency of the proposed approach.

Book excerpt: This paper investigates some Frank aggregation operators of interval-valued neutrosophic numbers (IVNNs) and applies to multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) problems. First, the Frank t-conorm and t-norm are extended to interval-valued neutrosophic environment. Some new operational laws for IVNNs are dened and their related properties are investigated. Based on these new operational laws, some new aggregation operators for IVNNs are developed including the interval-valued neutrosophic Frank weighted averaging (IVNFWA) operator and the interval-valued neutrosophic Frank weighted geometric (IVNFWG) operator. Then some desirable properties and special cases of these new operators are further discussed. To solve the MAGDM with IVNNs, the weights of decision makers (DMs) are determined by using extended technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method based on cross-entropy. Additionally, attribute weights are determined based on the similarity degrees between alternatives and the absolute ideal solutions. Further, two new decision-making approaches for MAGDM with IVNNs are put forward by means of the IVNFWA and IVNFWG operators, respectively.Finally, a case study of selecting an agricultural socialization service provider is analyzed to illustrate the practicality and effectiveness of the developed two approaches.

Book excerpt: Neutrosophic set (NS) was originally proposed by Smarandache to handle indeterminate and inconsistent information. It is a generalization of fuzzy sets and intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Wang and Smarandache proposed interval neutrosophic sets (INS) which is a special case of NSs and would be extensively applied to resolve practical issues. In this paper, we put forward generalized interval neutrosophic rough sets based on interval neutrosophic relations by combining interval neutrosophic sets with rough sets. We explore the hybrid model through constructive approach as well as axiomatic approach. On one hand, we define generalized interval neutrosophic lower and upper approximation operators through constructive approach. Moreover, we investigate the relevance between generalized interval neutrosophic lower (upper) approximation operators and particular interval neutrosophic relations. On the other hand, we study axiomatic characterizations of generalized interval neutrosophic approximation operators, and also show that different axiom sets of theoretical interval neutrosophic operators make sure the existence of different classes of INRs that yield the same interval neutrosophic approximation operators. Finally, we introduce generalized interval neutrosophic rough sets on two universes and a universal algorithm of multi-attribute decision making based on generalized interval neutrosophic rough sets on two universes. Besides, an example is given to demonstrate the validity of the new rough set model.

For this purpose, the operations for INSs are defined and a comparison approach is put forward based on the related research of interval valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFSs) in this paper.On the basis of the operations and comparison approach, two interval neutrosophic number aggregation operators are developed. Then, amethod formulticriteria decisionmaking problems is explored applying the aggregation operators.In addition, an example is provided to illustrate the application of the proposed method.

The main purpose of this paper is to study the similarity and entropy of INS and its application in multi-attribute decision-making. We propose a new inclusion relation between interval neutrosophic sets where the importance of the three membership functions may be different. Then, we propose the axiomatic definitions of the similarity measure and entropy of the interval neutrosophic set (INS) based on the new inclusion relation. Based on the Hamming distance, cosine function and cotangent function, some new similarity measures and entropies of INS are constructed. Finally, based on the new similarity and entropy, we propose a multi-attribute decision-making method and illustrate that these new similarities and entropies are reasonable and effective.

Book excerpt: Neutrosophic cubic set (NCS) is the generalized version of neutrosophic sets and interval neutrosophic sets. It can deal with the complex information by combining the neutrosophic set (NS) and cubic set (CS). The partitioned Maclaurin symmetric mean (PMSM) operator can reflect the interrelationships among attributes where there are interrelationships among attributes in the same partition, but the attributes in different partitions are irrelevant. To effectively gather neutrosophic cubic information, we extend the PMSM operator to neutrosophic cubic environment and define the neutrosophic cubic partitioned Maclaurin symmetric mean (NCPMSM) operator and neutrosophic cubic weighted partitioned Maclaurin symmetric mean (NCWPMSM) operator. Later, we define a novel score function of NCS which overcome the drawbacks of the existing score functions. Next, based on NCWPMSM operator and the novel score function, we develop a multi-attribute group decision-making method. Finally, we give an example of supplier selection to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) method. At the same time, a comparative analysis is to show the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed method compared with the existing methods.

Book excerpt: The neutrosophic cubic set can describe complex decision-making problems with its single-valued neutrosophic numbers and interval neutrosophic numbers simultaneously. The Dombi operations have the advantage of good flexibility with the operational parameter. In order to solve decision-making problems with flexible operational parameter under neutrosophic cubic environments, the paper extends the Dombi operations to neutrosophic cubic sets and proposes a neutrosophic cubic Dombi weighted arithmetic average (NCDWAA) operator and a neutrosophic cubic Dombi weighted geometric average (NCDWGA) operator. Then, we propose a multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) method based on the NCDWAA and NCDWGA operators. Finally, we provide two illustrative examples of MADM to demonstrate the application and effectiveness of the established method.
