Book Learning and Teaching in the Music Studio

Download or read book Learning and Teaching in the Music Studio written by Juan Ignacio Pozo and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-04-26 with total page 391 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book advocates for a radical change in music teaching and learning methods, allowing for a break from the traditional conservatory model still in use in many classrooms. The product of twenty years of interdisciplinary work by musicians, music teachers, and psychologists, the book proposes to place the focus of music education on the students themselves and on their mental and physical activity, with the aim of helping them to manage their own goals and emotions. This alternative is based on a new theoretical framework, as well as numerous real, concrete examples of how to put it into practice with students of different ages and in different environments. This book focuses primarily on teaching instrumental music, but its content will be useful for any teacher, student, musician, or researcher interested in improving music education in any environment, whether formal or informal, in which it takes place Chapters 3, 4, 6 and 18 are available open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License via link.springer.com.

Book Criterios de Interpretaci n Musical

Download or read book Criterios de Interpretaci n Musical written by José Carlos Carmona and published by . This book was released on 2020-08-29 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book La interpretaci n musical

Download or read book La interpretaci n musical written by John Rink and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Music and Consciousness

Download or read book Music and Consciousness written by David Clarke and published by OUP Oxford. This book was released on 2011-07-28 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is consciousness? Why and when do we have it? Where does it come from, and how does it relate to the lump of squishy grey matter in our heads, or to our material and social worlds? While neuroscientists, philosophers, psychologists, historians, and cultural theorists offer widely different perspectives on these fundamental questions concerning what it is like to be human, most agree that consciousness represents a 'hard problem'. The emergence of consciousness studies as a multidisciplinary discourse addressing these issues has often been associated with rapid advances in neuroscience-perhaps giving the impression that the arts and humanities have arrived late at the debating table. The longer historical view suggests otherwise, but it is probably true that music has been under-represented in accounts of consciousness. Music and Consciousness aims to redress the balance: its twenty essays offer a timely and multi-faceted contribution to consciousness studies, critically examining some of the existing debates and raising new questions. The collection makes it clear that to understand consciousness we need to do much more than just look at brains: studying music demonstrates that consciousness is as much to do with minds, bodies, culture, and history. Incorporating several chapters that move outside Western philosophical traditions, Music and Consciousness corrects any perception that the study of consciousness is a purely occidental preoccupation. And in addition to what it says about consciousness the volume also presents a distinctive and thought-provoking configuration of new writings about music.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the first to explore tango argentino as translocal practice, with a focus on the European context. Beyond that, the book crosses borders in the use of both qualitative and quantitative methods, ranging from participant observation to statistical data evaluation, including optical motion capture for movement analysis. Most of all, it is an important contribution to the emerging field of choreomusicology, focusing on movement and sound structures, dancers and musicians, and the complex relations between all of these factors that all have their share in shaping tango argentino practice.

Download or read book Canciones populares y literatura de frica Oriental written by Aaron Louis Rosenberg and published by El Colegio de Mexico AC. This book was released on 2013 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
