Book excerpt: These proceedings contain the written versions of most of the invited talks presented at the Sixth International Conference on Atomic and Molecular Data and Their Applications (ICAMDATA), held in Beijing, China, October 27-31, 2008. As a continuing series of international conferences, ICAMDATA promotes the use of atomic and molecular (AM) data in various fields of science and technology, provides a forum for interaction of AM data producers and users. These proceedings cover the topics of atomic and molecular physics and data production, new data format, and data applications and needs in wide relevant fields such as astrophysics and astronomy, magnetic and inertial fusions, low temperature laboratory plasmas and industry plasmas, atmosphere biophysics. They presented the state of the art and provided rich information on atomic and molecular data needs, applications and availability, and modeling studies.

Book Molecular Processes in Plasmas

Download or read book Molecular Processes in Plasmas written by Yukikazu Itikawa and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-07-19 with total page 199 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A variety of plasmas include molecules rather than only ions or atoms. Examples are ionospheres of the Earth and other planets, stellar atmospheres, gaseous discharges for use in various devices and processes, and fusion plasmas in the edge region. This book describes the role of molecules in those plasmas by showing elementary collision processes involving those molecules.

The articles contain both relevant review material as well as detailed descriptions of important recent developments.

Book Relativistic Quantum Theory of Atoms and Molecules

Download or read book Relativistic Quantum Theory of Atoms and Molecules written by Ian P Grant and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-04-15 with total page 813 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended for physicists and chemists who need to understand the theory of atomic and molecular structure and processes, and who wish to apply the theory to practical problems. As far as practicable, the book provides a self-contained account of the theory of relativistic atomic and molecular structure, based on the accepted formalism of bound-state Quantum Electrodynamics. The author was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of London in 1992.
