Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Book Romance can be absolutely beautiful and devastating. Especially in modern dating culture and how relationships are represented in movies and television. Rather than highlighting the unrealistic images we all chase from those stories, Collateral Damage highlights the chaos and damage real relationships cause, and how those moments make you who you are and take you to where you need to be. Through poet Care’s heart wrenching prose, anyone who has ever felt like they were an afterthought, an extra in someone else’s story, can find solace in knowing they are not alone. These tough moments we all must face. But they are not our endings. About the Author Care was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, and currently resides there with her beautiful Labrador puppy, Gemini. She has an intense passion for music and the arts and began writing at eight. After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University in 2017 with a degree in Political Science & double minor in Entrepreneurship & Music Business, Care went on to work in Nashville's music industry while also further exploring her career as a writer. After starting Collateral Damage in 2018, Care traveled extensively across the country, meeting incredible people, hiking through mountains, and letting the book guide her towards the person she wished to be when she wrote the last page.

Book A Course on Damage Mechanics

    Book Details:
  • Author : Jean Lemaitre
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2013-12-14
  • ISBN : 3662027615
  • Pages : 225 pages

Download or read book A Course on Damage Mechanics written by Jean Lemaitre and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-12-14 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new branch of science usually develops thus. Somebody publishes the basic ideas. Hesitatingly at first, then little by little, other original contributions appear, until a certain threshold is reached. Then, overview articles are printed, conferences are held, and a first mention is made in textbooks, until specialized monographs are written. Continuum darnage mechanics has reached that status now. To analyze or, if possible, to predict the failure of machine parts or other structures is one of the main goals of engineering science. Consequently fracture mechanics became one of its leading branches. It was based on the analysis of existing cracks. However, especially under conditions of cyclic loading, this might be too late to prevent a disaster. Therefore, the question regarding the precursory state, that is, the evolution of intemal darnage before macrocracks become visible, was then posed. One of the successful approaches to the problern was Weibull's theory which examined, in a statistical manner, the "weakest link" in the material volume under consideration. Unfortunately it proved too difficult mathematically to be applied to complicated parts or structures. Therefore it was highly appreciated by the scientific of material community when L. M. Kachanov published in 1958 a simple model darnage which subsequently could be extended to brittle elastic, plastic or viscous materials under all conditions of uniaxial or multiaxial, simple or cyclic loadings, so that it may be considered nearly universal.

Book Trauma Induced Coagulopathy

Download or read book Trauma Induced Coagulopathy written by Hunter B. Moore and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-10-12 with total page 802 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first edition of this publication was aimed at defining the current concepts of trauma induced coagulopathy by critically analyzing the most up-to-date studies from a clinical and basic science perspective. It served as a reference source for any clinician interested in reviewing the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of the coagulopathic trauma patient, and the data that supports it. By meticulously describing the methodology of most traditional as well as state of the art coagulation assays the reader is provided with a full understanding of the tests that are used to study trauma induced coagulopathy. With the growing interest in understanding and managing coagulation in trauma, this second edition has been expanded to 46 chapters from its original 35 to incorporate the massive global efforts in understanding, diagnosing, and treating trauma induced coagulopathy. The evolving use of blood products as well as recently introduced hemostatic medications is reviewed in detail. The text provides therapeutic strategies to treat specific coagulation abnormalities following severe injury, which goes beyond the first edition that largely was based on describing the mechanisms causing coagulation abnormalities. Trauma Induced Coagulopathy 2nd Edition is a valuable reference to clinicians that are faced with specific clinical challenges when managing coagulopathy.

Book Physical Non Linearities in Structural Analysis

Download or read book Physical Non Linearities in Structural Analysis written by J. Hult and published by Springer. This book was released on 2011-12-23 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Symposium was initiated in 1977 by Dr. M. G. CHABERT, Directeur des plans et programmes du C. E. T. I. M. His death, which occurred a few weeks before the Symposium, was deeply felt by all participants, who decided to dedicate this volume to his memory. The purpose, as set out by Dr. CHABERT, was to bring together people speaking the language of research and the language of industry in discussing problems of structural analysis. The Centre Technique des Industries M~caniques (C. E. T. I. M. ) at Sen1is was considered a suitable place for organizing such a meeting. Modern structural analysis, aided by high speed computers, is mainly concerned with non-linear phenomena, such as plasticity, visco-plasticity, damage and fracture mecha nics. Scientists involved in research in this field also speak two different languages: that of material analysts and that of structural analysts. The Bureau of IUTAM had appointed the following Scientific Committee to implement the ideas proposed by Dr. CHABERT: J. LEMAITRE, Universite Paris VI, ENSET, Cachan, France Chairman J. HULT, Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden, Co-Chairman G. CHABERT, Centre Technique des Industries M~caniques, Sen1is, France F. A. They were sentenced to life imprisonment in Bangkok's notorious Bang Kwang men's prison, the Bangkok Hilton. For Warren Fellows, it was the beginning of twelve years of hell. The Damage Done takes you behind the bars of a Bangkok prison. A place where sewer rats and cockroaches are the only nutritious food, where autocratic prison guards giggle as they deliver pulverising blows and where the worst punishment by far is the khun deo - solitary confinement, Thai style. Brutally honest and repentant of his initial crime, Warren talks about the decade of his life he lost in leg irons. The Damage Done is a brave and compelling book that poses harrowing questions on the nature of justice.
