Book Resonances in Few Body Systems

Download or read book Resonances in Few Body Systems written by A.T. Kruppa and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Few-body resonances are in the frontiers of resonance studies. Very similar problems occur in atomic and molecular physics, nuclear physics and high-energy physics. This collection presents the state of the art of the studies of resonance states in these fields and demonstrates their common methodological aspects. Most of the contributions are theoretical, but quite a few are closely linked with experiments through the data they are dealing with.

Book Experimental neutron resonance spectroscopy

Download or read book Experimental neutron resonance spectroscopy written by J Harvey and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 549 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Experimental Neutron Resonance Spectroscopy deals with the experimental technique of neutron resonance spectroscopy. Pulsed accelerator time-of-flight spectrometers and gamma rays from neutron capture in resonances are discussed. Total neutron cross section measurements are presented, along with neutron scattering and capture cross-section measurements and measurements on fissile nuclides. This book is comprised of five chapters and begins with an introduction to pulsed accelerator time-of-flight spectrometers with moderated continued neutron spectra, together with the pulsed Van De Graaff. Experimental techniques used for neutron cross section measurements, including detectors and data acquisition equipment, are then outlined. Scattering measurements and capture measurements as well as gamma-ray spectra from the capture of neutrons in resonances are considered. The final chapter focuses on the detailed and varied experiments that have been performed on the complicated fission process, together with the parameters of the resonances of the fissile nuclides. This monograph will be a useful resource for spectroscopists and physicists.

Book Security Privacy and Forensics Issues in Big Data

Download or read book Security Privacy and Forensics Issues in Big Data written by Joshi, Ramesh C. and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2019-08-30 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the proliferation of devices connected to the internet and connected to each other, the volume of data collected, stored, and processed is increasing every day, which brings new challenges in terms of information security. As big data expands with the help of public clouds, traditional security solutions tailored to private computing infrastructures and confined to a well-defined security perimeter, such as firewalls and demilitarized zones (DMZs), are no longer effective. New security functions are required to work over the heterogenous composition of diverse hardware, operating systems, and network domains. Security, Privacy, and Forensics Issues in Big Data is an essential research book that examines recent advancements in big data and the impact that these advancements have on information security and privacy measures needed for these networks. Highlighting a range of topics including cryptography, data analytics, and threat detection, this is an excellent reference source for students, software developers and engineers, security analysts, IT consultants, academicians, researchers, and professionals.

Book Fano Resonances in Optics and Microwaves

Download or read book Fano Resonances in Optics and Microwaves written by Eugene Kamenetskii and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-11-20 with total page 592 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses the development of Fano-based techniques and reveals the characteristic properties of various wave processes by studying interference phenomena. It explains that the interaction of discrete (localized) states with a continuum of propagation modes leads to Fano interference effects in transmission, and explores novel coherent effects such as bound states in the continuum accompanied by collapse of Fano resonance. Originating in atomic physics, Fano resonances have become one of the most appealing phenomena of wave scattering in optics, microwaves, and terahertz techniques. The generation of extremely strong and confined fields at a deep subwavelength scale, far beyond the diffraction limit, plays a central role in modern plasmonics, magnonics, and in photonic and metamaterial structures. Fano resonance effects take advantage of the coupling of these bound states with a continuum of radiative electromagnetic waves. With their unique physical properties and unusual combination of classical and quantum structures, Fano resonances have an application potential in a wide range of fields, from telecommunication to ultrasensitive biosensing, medical instrumentation and data storage. Including contributions by international experts and covering the essential aspects of Fano-resonance effects, including theory, modeling and design, proven and potential applications in practical devices, fabrication, characterization and measurement, this book enables readers to acquire the multifaceted understanding required for these multidisciplinary challenges.

Book Atlas of Neutron Resonances

Download or read book Atlas of Neutron Resonances written by Said F. Mughabghab and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2018-02-09 with total page 698 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Atlas of Neutron Resonances: Resonance Properties and Thermal Cross Sections Z=61-102, Sixth Edition, contains an extensive list of detailed individual neutron resonance parameters for Z=61-102, thermal cross sections, capture and fission resonance integrals, average resonance parameters, and a short survey of the physics of thermal and resonance neutrons. The long introduction contains: nuclear physics formulas aimed at neutron physicists; topics of special interest such as valence neutron capture, nuclear level density parameters, and s-, p-, and d-wave neutron strength functions; and various comparisons of measured quantities with the predictions of nuclear models, such as the optical model neutron-induced fission. As in the last edition, additional features have been added to appeal to a wider spectrum of users. These include: spin-dependent scattering lengths that are of interest to solid-state physicists, nuclear physicists and neutron evaluators; calculated and measured Maxwellian average 5-keV and 30-keV capture cross sections of importance to astrophysicists involved in nucleosynthesis modeling; s-, p-, and d- wave average radiative widths; nuclear level density parameters; and average fission widths derived from average fission cross sections. Provides a comparison of average resonance parameters with optical model calculations and with the generalized Landau-Fermi model Presents scattering radii for various partial waves from the analysis of total neutron cross sections in the keV to MeV energy region Includes a brief review of sub-threshold fission Features consistent treatment of average neutron parameters with values from the resolved resonance region

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, Second Edition focuses on two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, high resolution NMR of solids, water suppression, multiple quantum spectroscopy, and NMR imaging. The selection first takes a look at the fundamental principles and experimental methods. Discussions focus on the NMR phenomenon, dipolar broadening and spin-spin relaxation, nuclear electric quadrupole relaxation, saturation, magnetic shielding and chemical shift, magnetic field, transitions between the nuclear energy levels, and resolution and sensitivity considerations. The manuscript then ponders on chemical shift, coupling of nuclear spins, and nuclear relaxation and chemical rate processes. Topics include spin lattice relaxation, spin-spin relaxation, spin decoupling and associated techniques, and description and analysis of spin systems. The text examines two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy, macromolecules, and NMR of solids, including magic angle spinning, cross polarization, proton dipolar broadening, biopolymers, and chain motion in macromolecules. The selection is a valuable source of data for readers interested in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
