Book Intermedia Games Games Inter Media

Download or read book Intermedia Games Games Inter Media written by Michael Fuchs and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2019-02-21 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is available as open access through the Bloomsbury Open Access programme and is available on www.bloomsburycollections.com While all media are part of intermedial networks, video games are often at the nexus of that network. They not only employ cinematics, embedded books, and in-world television screens for various purposes, but, in our convergence culture, video games also play a vital role in allowing players to explore transmedia storyworlds. At the same time, video games are frequently thematized and remediated in film, television, and literature. Indeed, the central role video games assume in intermedial networks provides testament to their significance in the contemporary media environment. In this volume, an international group of contributors discuss not only intermedial phenomena in video games, but also the intermedial networks surrounding them. Intermedia Games-Games Inter Media will deepen readers' understanding of the convergence culture of the early twenty-first century and video games' role in it.

Book Introduction to Journalism and Mass Communication

Download or read book Introduction to Journalism and Mass Communication written by Finlay Webb and published by Scientific e-Resources. This book was released on 2018-11-20 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mass communication is an inter-disciplined domain. It can't understand as stand alone subject, because it deals with society and culture at one hand and technology at the other. Thus this book was needed that could give a comprehensive explanation of terms, concepts, theories and principles at one place. In recent times mass media has grown as a widespread industry which is working all over the world. Here in this book it is the sincere effort of the author to put the matter and facts, myths and realities all in a lucid manner. This book is designed keeping in view the average reader and beginners as well. This book will quench the thirst of knowledge in this field and it is the sincere hope of the author. If it proves to be of little value to the readers, all efforts and hardships of the author will amply be awarded. This book is created for the needs of students relating to the area of journalism and mass communication. As social contexts and milieus undergo changes and get increasingly complex, journalism too undergoes transformations, and gets ever more crucial to the running of a society. In such a scenario, it becomes imperative that one considers the import journalism carries, and how the issues and problems in it are central to how we perceive the world.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The National Center for Intermedia Transport Research (NCITR) was established at UCLA in 1982 by EPA as one of six Centers of Excellence for the study of environmental pollution problems. One of the functions undertaken by the NCITR has been to hold periodic workshops and to provide a forum for the discussion of current topiCS in the environmental pollution arena. To this end, two other workshops have previously been held. The first, held in November 1982, was chaired by H. R. Pruppacher, R. G. Semonin and W. G. N. Slinn on Precipitation Scavenging, Dry DepOSition and Resuspension. The second, held in January 1986, was chaired by Y. Cohen on Pollution Transport and Accumulation in a Multimedia Environment. The present workshop, chaired by D. T. Allen, Y. Cohen and I. R. Kaplan, was held on August 24-26, 1988 in Santa Monica, California. The title of the workshop was Intermedia Pollutant Transport: Modeling and Field Measurements. Approximately one hundred individuals participated and twenty five papers were given, mostly by invitation. The workshop was divided into the following four broad topiCS: 1) Transport of Pollutants from the Atmosphere, 2) Transport of Pollutants from Soils and Groundwaters, 3) Transport of Pollutants from Lakes and Oceans, and 4) Multimedia Transport of Pollutants. The last afternoon was reserved for a Panel Discussion.

Book How to Prepare a Marketing Plan

Download or read book How to Prepare a Marketing Plan written by John Stapleton and published by Gower Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 1998 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Marketing is today more a management style than a group of activities under a department head, and is absolutely central to the success of a company as a whole. This has informed the revisions to this fifth edition throughout. Most of the earlier content is retained in an updated form, but a new structure has been introduced and a section on implementation included for the first time. All aspects of the planning process are covered, from analysing market share and deciding marketing strategy, to specific elements of the marketing mix - campaign planning, media evaluation, sales promotion, publicity, packaging and PR. An especially valuable feature is the charts and forms, over 150 of them, which are used throughout to clearly illustrate the planning process.

Book Communication in the 2008 U S Election

Download or read book Communication in the 2008 U S Election written by Mitchell S. McKinney and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2011 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 2008 U.S. election was arguably the most important election of our lifetime: the first African American president was elected to office; the candidacy of Sarah Palin marked only the second time that a major party ticket included a female; and the electoral performance of young citizens - digital natives, greatly attracted by digital media - signaled the highest turnout in a long time.Taking all these issues into consideration, this book offers a landmark examination of the 2008 election from a global perspective, with emphasis on the wide range of digital media utilized by the campaigners and how campaign communication influenced young citizens. The authors argue that the use of digital technologies in the campaign, and the success of Barack Obama in attracting young voters to his cause, provides an excellent case study - perhaps something of a turning point in campaign communication - for carefully examining the emerging role of digital political media, and a continuing renewal in young citizens' electoral engagement. The wide-ranging contributions to this volume provide a comprehensive examination of a historic political campaign and election. The book's findings offer revealing answers regarding the content and effects of various forms of political campaign communication, and raise questions and possibilities for future research.
