Book Integrated Silicon Device Technology Volume Xvi Functional Design

Download or read book Integrated Silicon Device Technology Volume Xvi Functional Design written by J. N. Brown and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The design of silicon monolithic integrated circuits is discussed. The second and third major sections are concerned with general aspects of integrated circuit technology and the design and characteristics of both passive and active integrated components. These two sections are intended primarily for those individuals who are not familiar with integrated circuit concepts. Factors such as the desirability and ease of employing relatively large numbers of active devices, matched components, resistance ratios and temperature and voltage compensation in integrated circuits are discussed. The fourth section is a discussion of digital integrated circuits. Different logic types are compared and the design of single gates as well as more complex digital circuits and systems are considered. Analog circuit design is discussed in the last section. One of the major objectives of this section is the presentation of methods for eliminating the need for inductance and large-value capacitance in integrated circuits. Unconventional approaches to designing frequency selective circuits and 'desensitized' circuits are also covered. (Author).

Book INTEGRATED SILICON DEVICE TECHNOLOGY VOLUME I RESISTANCE

Download or read book INTEGRATED SILICON DEVICE TECHNOLOGY VOLUME I RESISTANCE written by and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Conventional and unconventional methods of achieving the resistive function in integrated silicon devices are discussed. The properties and types of resistors made of silicon are considered in some detail as well as general design procedures. Many charts and graphs are reproduced in the hope of providing a convenient source of information pertinent to the design of resistors for integrated silicon devices. The more recent trend toward combining thin film passive components on a silicon substrate containing the active elements is discussed in less detail, not because this technique is felt to be less important but because information is sparse on such devices and their fabrication.

Book Integrated Silicon Device Technology Volume Xiv Interconnections and Encapsulation

Download or read book Integrated Silicon Device Technology Volume Xiv Interconnections and Encapsulation written by R. L. Beadles and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The elements of integrated device operations following the completion of all wafer processing are discussed. Specific emphasis is given to the separation of wafers into chips by scribing and breaking operations, to wire bonding and other contacting methods, to both conventional and unconventional packaging, and to the interconnecting of packages. The package interconnection discussion indicates major trends and problem areas and is not a comprehensive discussion of all of the many methods employed. From the generation of integrated device chips to their actual use in systems, procedures are in a continual flux due to their competitive nature and the methods are often derived from nontechnical considerations. This volume is, therefore, more a report on current practices than on the engineering and science of this subject area. (Author).
