Não obstante a variedade de metodologias e informações sobre o processo de gestão de riscos, mais especificamente, a avaliação de riscos, a aplicação na gestão ainda está em processo de desenvolvimento, principalmente pelo fato de as metodologias ainda não estarem devidamente consolidadas. Fatores como o contexto, as fontes de informação, a forma de identificação e as competências para a utilização de ferramentas disponíveis, principalmente no que tange ao uso de parâmetros para a análise de riscos e às escolhas que ocorrem a partir do resultado das avaliações, são objeto de questionamentos. Tais fatores podem contribuir para que as lideranças e os liderados não compreendam os riscos a que estão submetidos nem a real dimensão de como isso está interferindo em suas decisões. O presente livro traz um retrospecto histórico do Risco e da sua Gestão com enfoque no Processo de Gestão de Riscos Ocupacionais e sua influência na tomada de decisão. Paralelamente discorre sobre depoimentos de profissionais da área de Saúde e Segurança do Trabalho a partir de indagações a respeito dos desafios que envolvem a aplicação da Gestão de Riscos nas organizações.
