Download or read book Apricot Seeds Cancer Cure with Vitamin B17 written by Marcus D. Adams and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2021-03-11 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cancer is an ever-growing problem, stealing lives worldwide at an alarming rate. A World Health Organization report stated that every year 1.6 million new cases are reported in the United States alone and that over 600,000 will die from the disease. Unfortunately, cancer isn't just one thing or one disease, it is an umbrella term that encapsulates any condition where abnormal cells grow at an abnormal rate. Currently, every organ and system of the body can be attacked by some form of cancer, some of which can spread to other areas of the body or even into the blood itself. Medical Science is working furiously to find a cure, exploring avenues both modern and obscure. Natural Medicine has also lent a hand in the search, looking at cures and remedies presented to us today and those from the distant past. Vitamin B-17 is a half-natural, half-man made substance known as Laetrile. Created from raw nuts and the pips of many fruits like apricot, this amygdalin has an enzyme that interacts within the body, and within cancerous cells that actively fight the invaders. Chemistry works in the lab and in the body, and these compounds, in conjunction with a healthy diet and proper medical care, may be paving the way to cancer treatments - and even a cure. This guide explains how Vitamin B-17 works, how to incorporate it into your diet, the benefits and possible drawbacks as well as addressing common questions or concerns. If you, or someone you know, is suffering the debilitating effects of cancer, you owe it to yourself to read this book today.
Download or read book Philosophy in the Classroom written by Matthew Lipman and published by Temple University Press. This book was released on 2010-06-18 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a textbook for teachers that demonstrates how philosophical thinking can be used in teaching children. It begins with the assumption that what is taught in schools is not (and should not be) subject matter but rather ways of thinking. The main point is that the classroom should be converted into a community of inquiry, and that one can begin doing that with children. Based on the curriculum that Matt Lipman has developed at the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children, which he heads, this book describes the curriculum and explains its use. The text is self-contained, however. This revision is thorough-going and incorporates new chapters, as well as new material in old chapters. Part One focuses on the need of educational change and the importance of philosophical inquiry in developing new approaches. Part Two discusses curriculum and teaching methodology, including teacher behavior conducive to helping children. Part Three deals with developing logic skills and moral judgment. It concludes with a chapter on the sorts of philosophical themes pertinent to ethical inquiry for children: the right and the fair, perfect and right, free will and determinism, change and growth, truth, caring, standards and rules, thinking and thinking for oneself. Education, in this sense, is not a matter of dispensing information; it is the process of assisting in the growth of the whole individual.

Download or read book Open Innovation Research Management And Practice written by Joe Tidd and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2013-10-24 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concept of open innovation has become increasingly popular in the management and policy literature on technology and innovation. However, despite the large volume of empirical work, many of the prescriptions being proposed are fairly general and not specific to particular contexts and contingencies. The proponents of open innovation are universally positive but research suggests that the specific mechanisms and outcomes of open innovation models are very sensitive to context and contingency. This is not surprising because the open or closed nature of innovation is historically contingent and does not entail a simple shift from closed to open as often suggested in the literature. Research has shown that patterns of innovation differ fundamentally by sector, firm and strategy. Therefore, there is a need to examine the mechanisms that help to generate successful open innovation. In this book, the authors contribute to a shift in the debate from potentially misleading general prescriptions, and provide conceptual and empirical insights into the precise mechanisms and potential limitations of open innovation research and management practice.

We have not attempted to write an in-depth book on spinal surgery, but one which will help the surgeon in the use of AO concepts and implants. We con sider the practical courses held all over the world essential for the teaching of sound techniques so that technical complications and poor results can be avoid ed for both the surgeon and, in particular the patient. This book is a practical manual and an outline of what is taught in the courses. It is intended to help the young spinal surgeon to understand the correct use of AO implants. The indi- tions given will aid the correct use of each procedure. . It must be strongly emphasized that surgery of the spine is technically de manding. The techniques described in this book should only be undertaken by surgeons who are trained and experienced in spinal surgery. Certain techniques, in particular pedicle screw fIxation and cages, have not yet been fully approved by the FDA in the United States. However, throughout the rest of the world, the use of pedicle screws has become a standard technique for the spine surgeon, since it has been shown to improve fIxation techniques and allow segmental correction of the spine. The use of cages has become more and more popular, specifIcally as a tool of minimally invasive spinal surgery.

Download or read book The Innovator s Method written by Nathan Furr and published by Harvard Business Review Press. This book was released on 2014-08-19 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever come up with an idea for a new product or service but didn’t take any action because you thought it would be too risky? Or at work, have you had what you thought could be a big idea for your company—perhaps changing the way you develop or distribute a product, provide customer service, or hire and train your employees? If you have, but you haven’t known how to take the next step, you need to understand what the authors call the innovator’s method—a set of tools emerging from lean start-up, design thinking, and agile software development that are revolutionizing how new ideas are created, refined, and brought to market. To date these tools have helped entrepreneurs, designers, and software developers manage uncertainty—through cheap and rapid experiments that systematically lower failure rates and risk. But many managers and leaders struggle to apply these powerful tools within their organizations, as they often run counter to traditional managerial thinking and practice. Authors Nathan Furr and Jeff Dyer wrote this book to address that very problem. Following the breakout success of The Innovator’s DNA—which Dyer wrote with Hal Gregersen and bestselling author Clay Christensen to provide a framework for generating ideas—this book shows how to make those ideas actually happen, to commercialize them for success. Based on their research inside corporations and successful start-ups, Furr and Dyer developed the innovator’s method, an end-to-end process for creating, refining, and bringing ideas to market. They show when and how to apply the tools of their method, how to adapt them to your business, and how to answer commonly asked questions about the method itself, including: How do we know if this idea is worth pursuing? Have we found the right solution? What is the best business model for this new offering? This book focuses on the “how”—how to test, how to validate, and how to commercialize ideas with the lean, design, and agile techniques successful start-ups use. Whether you’re launching a start-up, leading an established one, or simply working to get a new product off the ground in an existing company, this book is for you.
