Download or read book Infrared Characterization for Microelectronics written by W. S. Lau and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1999 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most of the books on infrared characterization are for applications in chemistry and no book has been dedicated to infrared characterization for microelectronics. The focus of the book will be on practical applications useful to the production line and to the research and development of microelectronics. The background knowledge and significance of doing a particular type of infrared measurement will be discussed in detail. The principal purpose of the book is to serve as a useful handbook for practising engineers and scientists in the field of microelectronics.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book to explain, illustrate, and compare the most widely used methods in optics: photoluminescence, infrared spectroscopy, and Raman scattering. Written with non-experts in mind, the book develops the background needed to understand the why and how of each technique, but does not require special knowledge of semiconductors or optics. This book was released on 2003-07-21 with total page 710 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Because of the rapid increase in commercially available Fouriertransform infrared spectrometers and computers over the past tenyears, it has now become feasible to use IR spectrometry tocharacterize very thin films at extended interfaces. At the sametime, interest in thin films has grown tremendously because ofapplications in microelectronics, sensors, catalysis, andnanotechnology. Book Quantitative Infrared Spectroscopy for Understanding of a Condensed Matter

Download or read book Quantitative Infrared Spectroscopy for Understanding of a Condensed Matter written by Takeshi Hasegawa and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-04-25 with total page 207 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended to provide a course of infrared spectroscopy for quantitative analysis, covering both bulk matter and surface/interface analyses. Although the technology of Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy was established many years ago, the full potential of infrared spectroscopy has not been properly recognized, and its intrinsic potential is still put aside. FT-IR has outstandingly useful characteristics, however, represented by the high sensitivity for monolayer analysis, highly reliable quantitativity, and reproducibility, which are quite suitable for surface and interface analysis. Because infrared spectroscopy provides rich chemical information—for example, hydrogen bonding, molecular conformation, orientation, aggregation, and crystallinity—FT-IR should be the first choice of chemical analysis in a laboratory. In this book, various analytical techniques and basic knowledge of infrared spectroscopy are described in a uniform manner. In particular, techniques for quantitative understanding are particularly focused for the reader’s convenience.

Book Mid infrared Semiconductor Optoelectronics

Download or read book Mid infrared Semiconductor Optoelectronics written by Anthony Krier and published by Springer. This book was released on 2007-05-22 with total page 756 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Optoelectronic devices operating in the mid-infrared wavelength range offer applications in a variety of areas from environmental gas monitoring around oil rigs to the detection of narcotics. They could also be used for free-space optical communications, thermal imaging applications and the development of "homeland security" measures. Mid-infrared Semiconductor Optoelectronics is an overview of the current status and technological development in this rapidly emerging area; the basic physics, some of the problems facing the design engineer and a comparison of possible solutions are laid out; the different lasers used as sources for mid-infrared technology are considered; recent work in detectors is reviewed; the last part of the book is concerned with applications. With a world-wide authorship of experts working in many mid-infrared-related fields this book will be an invaluable reference for researchers and graduate students drawn from physics, electronic and electrical engineering and materials science.

Book Applications of Infrared Spectroscopy in Biochemistry Biology and Medicine

Download or read book Applications of Infrared Spectroscopy in Biochemistry Biology and Medicine written by Frank Parker and published by Springer. This book was released on 2012-03-19 with total page 602 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is not intended to be a basic text in infrared spectroscopy. Many such books exist and I have referred to them in the text. Rather, I have tried to find applications that would be interesting to a variety of people: advanced undergraduate chemistry students, graduate students and research workers in several disciplines, spectros copists, and physicians active in research or in the practice of medicine. With this aim in mind there was no intent to have exhaustive coverage of the literature. I should like to acknowledge my use of several books and reviews, which were invaluable in my search for material: G. H. Beaven, E. A. Johnson, H. A. Willis and R. G. 1. Miller, Molecular Spec troscopy, Heywood and Company, Ltd., London, 1961. J. A. Schell man and Charlotte Schellman, 'The Conformation of Polypeptide Chains in Proteins," in The Proteins, Vol. II, 2nd Ed. (H. Neurath, ed.), Academic Press, New York, 1964. R. T. Book Nondestructive Evaluation of Materials by Infrared Thermography

Download or read book Nondestructive Evaluation of Materials by Infrared Thermography written by Xavier P.V. Maldague and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With national trade barriers falling, causing the expansion of the com petitive global market, the question of quality control has become an essential issue for the 1990s. The time where the promise was to replace a product if it does not work seems to have passed; what is more impor tant now is not so much a reduction in what is going wrong but an increase of what is going right the first time (Feigenbaum 1990). This new trend is sometimes referred to as total quality. Among the many advantages ofthis zero-defect manufacturing policy, we can enumerate (Laurin 1990): superior marketability of wholly de pendable products, enormous gain in productivity, elimination of waste ful cost in replacing poor quality work and retrofitting rejected products from the field. Although total quality is a relatively new and attractive concept for mass products such as cars, consumer electronics and per sonal computers, in many fields, mainly aerospace and military, it has been the rule for years because of security reasons.
