Download or read book Cybertheology written by Antonio Spadaro and published by Fordham Univ Press. This book was released on 2014-09-19 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Because the Internet has changed and is changing the ways in which we think and act, it must also be changing the ways in which we think Christianity and its theology. Cybertheology is the first book to explore this process from a Catholic point of view. Drawing on the theoretical work of authors such as Marshall McLuhan, Peter Levy, and Teilhard de Chardin, it questions how technologies redefine not only the ways in which we do things but also our being and therefore the way we perceive reality, the world, others, and God. “Does the digital revolution affect faith in any sense?” Spadaro asks. His answer is an emphatic Yes. But how, then, are we to live well in the age of the Internet? Spadaro delves deeply into various dimensions of the impact of the Net on the Church and its organization, on our understanding of revelation, grace, liturgy, the sacraments, and other classical theological themes. He rightly points out that the digital environment is not merely an external instrument that facilitates human communication or a purely virtual world, but part of the daily experience of many people, a new “anthropological space” that is reshaping the way we think, know, and express ourselves. Naturally, this calls for a new understanding of faith so that it makes sense to people who live and work in the digital media environment. In developing the notion of cybertheology, Spadaro seeks to propose an intelligence of faith (intellectus fidei) in the era of the Internet. The book’s chapters include reflections on man the decoder and the search engines of God, networked existence and the mystical body, hacker ethics and Christian vision, sacraments and “virtual presence,” and the theological challenges of collective intelligence.

Book Nozioni di Informatica

Download or read book Nozioni di Informatica written by Carlo Sansotta and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2011-11-02 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Knowledge and the Family Business

Download or read book Knowledge and the Family Business written by Manlio Del Giudice and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-12-06 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Family businesses—the predominant form of business organization around the world—can make numerous, critical contributions to the economy and family well-being in both financial and qualitative terms. But dysfunctional family businesses can be difficult to manage, painful experiences at best, and they can destroy family wealth and personal relationships. This book explores the dynamics of family business management, in the context of constantly changing market conditions and the role that knowledge management plays in strategic planning and adaptation. Integrating the literature from family business, entrepreneurship, industrial psychology, and knowledge management, and with illustrative examples from a variety of enterprises, the authors address such topics as: •How family businesses can compete in the new knowledge economy •How to manage a family business when knowledge is its main asset •How to transfer knowledge (and how to keep it alive) through family generations Within this framework, the authors argue that effective resource management—especially intangible resources—is central to enabling a family-run organization to maintain a sustainable competitive advantage over time. They note that families often develop systemic, intuitive, or tacit knowledge that transcends rational decision making and needs to be recognized and nurtured as a distinctive asset. The authors demonstrate that trans-generational value is achieved when the family firm innovates and adapts itself to changing external and internal conditions. This kind of entrepreneurial performance requires dynamic capabilities and processes designed to acquire, exchange, combine and even shed knowledge and practices; and, in turn, dynamic capabilities result from mechanisms of knowledge sharing, collective learning, experience accumulation, and transfer.

Download or read book Communities in Action written by Graeme Johanson and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2009-05-05 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ICTs have become a very powerful community resource, viewed by many authors in this volume as two-way mechanisms, facilitating the perpetuation of and reflecting esteemed community values. The contents of this volume make it clear that ICTs have a huge capacity for incorporation into different forms of community action, including social change, community learning, community connection, and community development. Through studying the papers in this volume, readers can learn about multiple forms of ICTs and action and how action is understood, and improve their grasp of the complexities of social-technical relations. The chapters in this volume began life as papers at the Conference on ’Community Informatics – prospects for communities and action’ in 2007, the fourth successful community informatics conference held at the Monash University Centre, Prato Italy. This book creates a platform for exchanging experiences, case studies, and possible solutions to address the difficulties in deploying ICT in many contexts, and will be of interest to all researchers and practioners who engage with ICT, particularly those in the community and developmental informatics field.

Book Planning Support Systems Best Practice and New Methods

Download or read book Planning Support Systems Best Practice and New Methods written by Stan Geertman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-05-01 with total page 465 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Planning Support Systems: Retrospect and Prospect It has been nearly twenty years since the term ‘planning support systems’ (PSS) first appeared in an article by Britton Harris (Harris 1989) and more than ten years since the concept was more broadly introduced in the academic literature (Harris and Batty 1993; Batty 1995; Klosterman 1997). As a result, the publication of a new book on PSS provides an excellent opportunity to assess past progress in the field and speculate on future developments. PSS have clearly become very popular in the academic world. This is the fourth edited book devoted to the topic following Brail and Klosterman (2001), Geertman and Stillwell (2003), and a third by Brail (2008). Papers devoted to PSS have been published in the leading planning journals and the topic has become a regular theme at academic conferences around the world; it has even spawned intellectual o- spring such as spatial planning and decision support systems (SPDSS) and public participation planning support systems (PP-PSS). However, as Geertman and Stillwell point out in their introductory chapter, the experience with PSS in the world of professional practice has been disappointing. A substantial number of PSS have been developed but most of them are academic p- totypes or ‘one off’ professional applications that have not been adopted elsewhere.

Book Mobile Communication and Greater China

Download or read book Mobile Communication and Greater China written by Wai-chi Rodney Chu and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2012 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited volume examines mobile phone use in China. Unlike most studies on ICT development in China this book argues for the importance of the cultural realm as captured in mobile phone usage in reflecting the normative basis and struggle of the people. It stresses how the mobile phone is in fact an important means by which one can understand a rapidly changing China. A key concern of the book is to assert the uniqueness of China’s experience in mobile phone usage. This uniqueness is encapsulated by the phrase ‘riding the double juggernaut’, in that Chinese society is exposed to a rapid process of industrialization and cyberization in a short period of time. The contributors maintain that such density of experience under a compressed period when the society has a thick cultural heritage of its own and yet is still under a dictating rule all come together to provide a unique situation in China. .

Book Archeologia e Calcolatori 30 2019

Download or read book Archeologia e Calcolatori 30 2019 written by Marco Arizza and published by All’Insegna del Giglio. This book was released on 2019-11-28 with total page 530 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Archeologia e Calcolatori 31 2 2020

Download or read book Archeologia e Calcolatori 31 2 2020 written by Giovanna Bagnasco Gianni and published by All’Insegna del Giglio. This book was released on 2020-10-22 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Il secondo, “Logic and computing. The underlying basis of digital archaeology”, è una sessione speciale dell’IMEKO TC-4 International Conference on Metrology for Archaeology and Cultural Heritage (MetroArchaeo, Firenze, 4-6 dicembre 2019), a cura di A. Caravale e P. Moscati.
