Download or read book Attribute Grammars written by Pierre Deransart and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1988-08-10 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book treats the problem of formulating models in mathematical programming, and thereafter solving the resulting model. Particular emphasis is placed on the interaction between the two. The topic is viewed from different angles, namely linear programming (Walter Murray), integer programming (Ellis Johnson), network flows (John Mulvey), and stochastic programming (Roger J-B Wets). The book will be very useful for any mathematics programmer or operations researcher who works in the field of real-world modelling. The book is an important part of any university course in modelling, particularly in operations research, economics and business. The book also contains an article on the origins of mathematical programming (Alexander Rinnooy Kan). This is important reading for anyone interested in the history of the field.

Download or read book Attribute Grammars Applications and Systems written by Henk Alblas and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1991-10-23 with total page 536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Attribute grammars have shown themselves to be a useful formalism for specifying the syntax and the static semantics of programming languages. They are also useful for implementing syntax-directed editors, compilers, translator writing systems and compiler generators, and any application that has a strong syntactic base. However, no textbooks are available that cover the entire field. To redress this imbalance, anInternational Summer School on Attribute Grammars, Applications and Systems was held in Prague, Czechoslovakia in June 1991. The course aimed at teaching the state of the art in attribute grammars, and their relation to other language specification methods. This volume presents the proceedings of the school. The papers are well suited for self-study, and a selection of them can be used for introductory courses in attribute grammars.

Book excerpt: This accessible and authoritative reference explores the practical implications of new trends in the development of user interface software. Developments such as groupware, virtual reality and multimedia are likely to alter the way we all view software both as developers and users. This book looks beyond the hype and tells what all the buzzwords mean for the working programmer and developer.

Book excerpt: This coherently written book is the final report on the IPSEN project on Integrated Software Project Support Environments devoted to the integration of tools for the development and maintenance of large software systems. The theoretical and application-oriented findings of this comprehensive project are presented in the following chapters: Overview: introduction, classification, and global approach; The outside perspective: tools, environments, their integration, and user interface; Internal conceptual modeling: graph grammar specifications; Realization: derivation of efficient tools, Current and future work, open problems; Conclusion: summary, evaluation, and vision. Also included is a comprehensive bibliography listing more than 1300 entries and a detailed index.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Powerful personal workstations with high-resolution displays, pointing devices, and windowing environments have created many new possibilities in presenting information, accessing data, and efficient computing in general. In the context of document preparation, this workstation- based technology has made it possible for the user to directly manipulate a document in its final form. The central idea is that a document is immediately reprocessed as it is edited; no syntactic\ constructs are explicitly used to express teh desired operations. This so-called direct manipulation approach differs substantially from the traditional source language model, in which document semantics (structures and appearances) are specified with interspersed markup comands. In the source language model, a document is first prepared with a text editor, its formatting and other related processors are then executed, usually in batch mode, and the result is obtained. A complete document development process involves a number of subtasks ranging from authoring, reading, filing, to printing. There are certain aspects of document development that are best-suited to a source- language approach while others are easier
Download or read book Programming Language Implementation and Logic Programming written by Jan Małuszyński and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1991-08-14 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the papers which have been accepted for presentation atthe Third International Symposium on Programming Language Implementation andLogic Programming (PLILP '91) held in Passau, Germany, August 26-28, 1991. The aim of the symposium was to explore new declarative concepts, methods and techniques relevant for the implementation of all kinds of programming languages, whether algorithmic or declarative ones. The intention was to gather researchers from the fields of algorithmic programming languages as well as logic, functional and object-oriented programming. This volume contains the two invited talks given at the symposium by H. Ait-Kaci and D.B. MacQueen, 32 selected papers, and abstracts of several system demonstrations. The proceedings of PLILP '88 and PLILP '90 are available as Lecture Notes in Computer Science Volumes 348 and 456.
