Book 3 Minute Spanish Lessons 1 3

Download or read book 3 Minute Spanish Lessons 1 3 written by Kieran Ball and published by . This book was released on 2016-12-04 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The best way to learn to speak a foreign language is to start using it straight away. This is exactly what you will be doing with 3 Minute Spanish. With this book, you will learn useful words and phrases that will get you speaking from the very first lesson. You will learn quickly how to form your own sentences without feeling like you're never going to use what you learn.I wrote the 3 Minute Spanish methodology after trying lots of different courses, books and CDs. I noticed that most Spanish courses start out with a long list of pronunciation rules using weird symbols that you won't understand unless you've studied phonetics. I also noticed that a lot of Spanish courses fill their first few lessons with pages and pages of rules for the language: how to pluralise nouns, how to recognise the gender of a noun, how to use the definite, indefinite or partitive articles! Whilst this information will become useful eventually, for the complete beginner it can be extremely confusing and very often overwhelming, especially when baffling grammatical terminology is used. This is what leads to most students giving up.With 3 Minute Spanish, what I have done is put the most useful things first. You will learn words and phrases that will allow you to speak straight away, and you will get an instant feeling of success from the very first lesson. Furthermore, I have made sure that I explain everything in a way that assumes you know nothing about language learning. I don't use any tricky terminology and I don't give you and endless list of rules; we learn as we go along, adding small bits of information here and there and practising until you can use it confidently. Each time you learn a new word, I show you exactly how to say it with a small pronunciation guide underneath it. And you don't need to worry about remembering the words, either; the way the course is set out means that you will automatically internalise new vocabulary without even trying. The methodology behind this book is the same methodology I use in my classes and online courses, and the results my students have had are exciting and thrill me just as much as them!People who have spent years unsuccessfully studying Spanish have tried this book or one of my courses and have been amazed at how much they've learnt and understood in just the first lesson. Here are some of their reviews:"Excellent! He really understands teaching. This course breaks through a major barrier to learning foreign languages."NIALL COLLINS"This is fantastic. Everything you learn just stays in your head." YUVRAJ VASWANI"The course was just as the instructor promised; it flowed so easily from beginning to end, and I was surprised by how much I absorbed. Thank you for making me feel that I can actually learn this beautiful language."LOU CHARON"The teacher is clear and concise. He structures the delivery of the material in a very effective way, which aids recall greatly, and he presents the material in an engaging way. My rate of learning is accelerating fast."SAM DOYLE"I love how short but utterly effective each chapter is. This method is great for building confidence quickly, learning the basics and gaining momentum. I'd definitely like to continue to learn with this teacher. Absolutely no boredom or strain whatsoever!"HAPPY DEE"Excellent course. The step-by-step instruction in small increments is very effective, as is the repetition throughout the course, and the translation practice. Highly recommend!!!"MOLLIE DISHAL"This method of teaching is amazing. This person has a teaching gift and the lessons are very well structured with clear content. Everything is explained very well and this method of teaching is pure genius. Thank you for helping me learn another language!"SCOTT WRENIf you would like to see more reviews from over 9000 students, check out my website www.3minute.club

Book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences

Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by Wade H. Shafer and published by Springer. This book was released on 1976 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis· seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) *at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac· tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 20 (thesis year 1975) a total of 10,374 theses titles from 28 Canadian and 239 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. The organization of Volume 20 is identical to that of past years. It consists of theses titles arranged by discipline and by university within each discipline.

Book The Social Practice of Human Rights

Download or read book The Social Practice of Human Rights written by Joel R. Pruce and published by Palgrave Macmillan. This book was released on 2015-06-17 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Social Practice of Human Rights bridges the conventional scholar-practitioner divide by focusing on the space in between. The volume brings together cutting-edge chapters that together set a new agenda for research, grounded in the practice of critical self-reflection on the strategies that drive communities dedicated to the advocacy and implementation of human rights. The social practice of human rights takes place not in front of a judge, but in the streets and alleys, in the backrooms and out-of-the-way places where change occurs. Contributors to this volume investigate the contexts and efforts of activists and professionals devoted to promoting human rights norms. This research takes as its subject the organizations and movements that shoulder the burden of improving respect for human dignity. It argues that through a constructive critique of these patterns and practices, scholarship can have a positive impact on the political world.

Book The West and the Global Power Shift

Download or read book The West and the Global Power Shift written by Riccardo Alcaro and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-06-28 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book assesses the state of transatlantic relations in an era of emerging powers and growing interconnectedness, and discusses the limits and potential of transatlantic leadership in creating effective governance structures. The authors first resort to theory and history to understand the transatlantic relationship. They then consider the domestic and systemic factors that might set the relationship between the United States and Europe on a different path. Finally, the authors locate the potential for transatlantic leadership in the context of the global power shift. The world of the 21st century displays different power configurations in different policy domains. This changing structure of power complicates the exercise of leadership. Leadership requires not only greater power and authority, but also persuasion, bargaining and moral suasion, all necessary strategies to build coalitions and manage conflicts between great powers.

  • Author : R. K. Narayan
  • Publisher : Harper Collins
  • Release : 2013-07-30
  • ISBN : 0062307371
  • Pages : 131 pages

Download or read book My Days written by R. K. Narayan and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2013-07-30 with total page 131 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "I am inclined to call this the last chapter, but how can an autobiography have a final chapter? At best, it can only be a penultimate one; nor can it be given a rounded-off conclusion, as is possible in a work of fiction." So begins the last chapter of My Days, the only memoir from R. K. Narayan, hailed as "India's most notable novelist and short-story writer" by the New York Times Book Review. In his usual winning, humorous style, R. K. Narayan shares his life story, beginning in his grandmother's garden in Madras with his ferocious pet peacock. As a young boy with no interest in school, he trains grasshoppers, scouts, and generally takes part in life's excitements. Against the advice of all, especially his commanding headmaster father, the dreaming Narayan takes to writing fiction, and one of his pieces is accepted by Punch magazine (his "first prestige publication"). Soon his life includes bumbling British diplomats, curious movie moguls, evasive Indian officials, eccentric journalists, and "the blind urge" to fall in love. R. K. Narayan's larger-than-life perception of the human comedy is at once acute and forgiving, and always true to it.

Download or read book Talking Nets written by James A. Anderson and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2000-02-28 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Surprising tales from the scientists who first learned how to use computers to understand the workings of the human brain. Since World War II, a group of scientists has been attempting to understand the human nervous system and to build computer systems that emulate the brain's abilities. Many of the early workers in this field of neural networks came from cybernetics; others came from neuroscience, physics, electrical engineering, mathematics, psychology, even economics. In this collection of interviews, those who helped to shape the field share their childhood memories, their influences, how they became interested in neural networks, and what they see as its future. The subjects tell stories that have been told, referred to, whispered about, and imagined throughout the history of the field. Together, the interviews form a Rashomon-like web of reality. Some of the mythic people responsible for the foundations of modern brain theory and cybernetics, such as Norbert Wiener, Warren McCulloch, and Frank Rosenblatt, appear prominently in the recollections. The interviewees agree about some things and disagree about more. Together, they tell the story of how science is actually done, including the false starts, and the Darwinian struggle for jobs, resources, and reputation. Although some of the interviews contain technical material, there is no actual mathematics in the book. Contributors James A. Anderson, Michael Arbib, Gail Carpenter, Leon Cooper, Jack Cowan, Walter Freeman, Stephen Grossberg, Robert Hecht-Neilsen, Geoffrey Hinton, Teuvo Kohonen, Bart Kosko, Jerome Lettvin, Carver Mead, David Rumelhart, Terry Sejnowski, Paul Werbos, Bernard Widrow

Book New Research on the Philosophy of Nicolai Hartmann

Download or read book New Research on the Philosophy of Nicolai Hartmann written by Keith Peterson and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2016-01-29 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The imposing scope and penetrating insights of German philosopher Nicolai Hartmann’s work have received renewed interest in recent years. The Neo-Kantian turned ontological realist established a philosophical approach unique among his peers, and it provides a wealth of resources for considering contemporary philosophical problems. The chapters included in this volume examine his ethics, ontology, aesthetics, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of nature. They explore his ontology of values, autonomy and human enhancement, and law; his theory of levels of reality, space-time and geometry, the categories of temporality, causality, and “life,” the question of realism, and social ontology. Others take inspiration from his aesthetic theory, ideas about education, and his embrace of the Socratic pathos of wonder. They bring his philosophy into conversation with that of his contemporaries, including Roman Ingarden and Konrad Lorenz’s appropriation of Hartmann, as well as with the history of philosophy, including Plato’s theory of recollection, pre-Socratic philosophy, and that of his Russian teacher Nikolai Lossky. Those familiar with Hartmann’s wide-ranging systematic philosophy will benefit from these new engagements with his work, and those new to it will find them relevant to a number of current philosophical debates.
