Download or read book 2H d N 3He Differential Cross Sections for Deuteron Energies Between 20 and 40 MeV written by and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From an energy-dependent analysis of all available data, Legendre coefficients are derived that allow a consistent presentation of the differential cross sections of the reaction 2H(d, n)3He between 20.0 and 39.8 MeV. At energies above 25 MeV where no direct data are available, these coefficients predict cross sections of the neutron productions at 0° to better than +- 10%.

Book Differential Cross Sections of the Reaction 4He t N 6Li Between 8 5 and 16 5 MeV and the N 6Li Cross section Standard

Download or read book Differential Cross Sections of the Reaction 4He t N 6Li Between 8 5 and 16 5 MeV and the N 6Li Cross section Standard written by and published by . This book was released on 1982 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Differential cross sections of the reaction 4He(t, n)6Li, including some data of the first and second excited states of 6Li, were measured and compared with an R-matrix analysis of previous data in the 7Li system. Excellent agreement is observed for the angular distribution at the 0.24-MeV resonance of n-6Li, and the shape of the angular distribution for 4He(t, n1)6Li at 12.9 MeV is predicted qualitatively by the R-matrix analysis. However, for neutron energies greater than 0.5 MeV for 6Li(n, t)4He the zero-degree excitation function is consistently lower (about 30%) in the R-matrix analysis.

Book Absolute Differential Cross Sections Over the Entire Angular Range for the Reaction 3H d N 4He at 7 0 and 10 0 MeV

Download or read book Absolute Differential Cross Sections Over the Entire Angular Range for the Reaction 3H d N 4He at 7 0 and 10 0 MeV written by and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Differential cross sections for the reaction 3H(d, n)4He have been measured at 7.00 and 10.00 MeV using the time-of-flight technique. By measuring both 3H(d, n)4He and 2H(t, n)4He at the same center of mass, energy-complete distributions between 0° and 180° have been obtained. The absolute scales have been established within +- 1.5 percent by using the accurate 2H(t, 4He)n cross sections at 20.0 MeV as a standard.

Book Range Distribution of the Charged Particles from the D D Reactions for 10 Mev Deuterons

Download or read book Range Distribution of the Charged Particles from the D D Reactions for 10 Mev Deuterons written by Louis Rosen and published by . This book was released on 1949 with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microphotographic techniques have been used to obtain the range distribution of the charged particles resulting from the D-D reactions at center of mass angles of 40 degress, 60 degress, and 80 degress for 10-Mev deuterons. At 80 degrees all of the groups of charged particles from these reactions are clearly resolved. The differential D-D elastic scattering cross sections have been obtained for the same angles and for these angles the cross sections per unit solid angle in the center of mass system are in the ratios of 1.00: 0.51: 0.42, respectively.

Download or read book Nuclear Physics of Stars written by Christian Iliadis and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2015-04-13 with total page 675 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most elements are synthesized, or "cooked", by thermonuclear reactions in stars. The newly formed elements are released into the interstellar medium during a star's lifetime, and are subsequently incorporated into a new generation of stars, into the planets that form around the stars, and into the life forms that originate on the planets. Moreover, the energy we depend on for life originates from nuclear reactions that occur at the center of the Sun. Synthesis of the elements and nuclear energy production in stars are the topics of nuclear astrophysics, which is the subject of this book. It presents nuclear structure and reactions, thermonuclear reaction rates, experimental nuclear methods, and nucleosynthesis in detail. These topics are discussed in a coherent way, enabling the reader to grasp their interconnections intuitively. The book serves both as a textbook for advanced undergraduate and graduate students, with worked examples and end-of-chapter excercises, but also as a reference book for use by researchers working in the field of nuclear astrophysics.

Book 3H p N 3He Differential Cross Sections Below 5 MeV and the N 3He Cross Sections 2 5 and 4 0 MeV

Download or read book 3H p N 3He Differential Cross Sections Below 5 MeV and the N 3He Cross Sections 2 5 and 4 0 MeV written by and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Complete angular distributions for the 3H(p, n)3He reaction were measured at 2.5 and 4.0 MeV with the 1H(t, n)3He reaction used to obtain the backward yields. Because the distributions are peaked about 17% more strongly in the backward direction than the best previous elevation suggests (based on extrapolated data), the 3H(p, n)3He reaction cross sections below 5 MeV were re-evaluated without the extrapolated data. The results were compared with recent total n-3He cross-section results. 3 figures, 4 tables.

Book Evaluation of the N 3H Cross Section at En

Download or read book Evaluation of the N 3H Cross Section at En written by and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The n + 3H cross section is important for NIF diagnostics. As the d-3H fusion at NIF generates neutrons with an energy of 14 MeV, the precise knowledge of the n + 3H cross section and in particular the elastic cross section at that energy is crucial. Experimental data at E{sub n} = 14 MeV are not accurate with large disagreements among different sets of measurements. On the other hand, the mirror reaction p-3He is well studied and accurate data are available in a wide range of proton energies. We use several theoretical approaches to evaluate the n-3H cross section by fine-tuning the theory to reproduce the p-3He elastic differential cross sections. The good agreement between the R-matrix analysis and scaled ab initio calculations gives us confidence that our evaluated n + 3H cross section is accurate with an uncertainty on the order of 5%.

Book Cross Sections of N 3He Between 3 5 and 30 MeV

Download or read book Cross Sections of N 3He Between 3 5 and 30 MeV written by M. Drosg and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The availability of cross section predictions from an ab-initio calculation of the n-3He system in the energy range from 3.5 to 30 MeV neutron energy allows improvement of the neutron cross section evaluation in this energy range. In agreement with the most recent evaluation, this calculation corroborates the lower solution for the total cross data values. New insight in the differential elastic cross sections is obtained, on the one hand a 3.7% increase of the scale is suggested, on the other hand excitation functions are verified over the wide energy range under consideration. Experimental evidence backing this 3.7% increase of the elastic cross sections is presented. Consequently, revised values for the total, elastic, and break-up cross sections are presented. Experimental differential elastic cross sections must be up-scaled whereas the two-body nonelastic differential cross sections remain unchanged.
