Book Health Program Planning Implementation and Evaluation

Download or read book Health Program Planning Implementation and Evaluation written by Lawrence W. Green and published by JHU Press. This book was released on 2022-02-08 with total page 489 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A time-tested, landmark approach to health promotion and communication projects and everything that goes into making them successful. For more than 40 years, the PRECEDE-PROCEED model, developed in the early 1970s by Lawrence W. Green and first published as a text in 1980 with Marshall W. Kreuter, Sigrid G. Deeds, and Kay B. Partridge, has been effectively applied worldwide to address a broad range of health issues: risk factors like tobacco and lack of exercise, social determinants of health such as lack of access to transportation and safe housing, and major disease challenges like heart disease and guinea worm disease. In Health Program Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation, Green and his team of senior editors and chapter authors combine their expertise to offer a high-level guide to public health programming. This guide aligns with foundational public health competencies required by increasingly rigorous certification and accreditation standards. Driven by the coronavirus pandemic and a looming climate crisis, the book addresses the rapid changes in modern-day conceptions of disease prevention and health promotion. Today's public health practitioners and researchers are often called upon to address a complex web of factors, including population inequities, that influence health status, from biology to social and structural determinants. Program and policy solutions to population health challenges require systematic planning, implementation, and evaluation. Providing students with knowledge, skills, and a range of tools, the book recognizes new approaches to communication and fresh methods for reaching a greater diversity of communities. The authors highlight the importance of starting the population health planning process with an inclusive assessment of the social needs and quality-of-life concerns of the community. They explain how to assess health problems systematically in epidemiological terms and address the behavioral and environmental determinants of the most important and changeable health problems. They also cover procedures for assessing and developing the capacity of communities and organizations to implement and evaluate programs. Drawing on more than 1,200 published applications of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model, Health Program Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation features numerous case studies and contributions from internationally recognized experts, including governmental, academic, and community public health leaders, giving readers a thorough and well-rounded view of the subject. Ultimately, it is an up-to-date powerhouse for community and global health promotion at all levels. Contributors: Faten Ben Abdelaziz, John P. Allegrante, Patricia Chalela, Cam Escoffery, Maria E. Book Data Protection Implementation Guide

Download or read book Data Protection Implementation Guide written by Brendan Quinn and published by Kluwer Law International B.V.. This book was released on 2021-09-02 with total page 463 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The complexities of implementing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) continue to grow as it progresses through new and ever-changing technologies, business models, codes of conduct, and decisions of the supervisory authorities, and the courts. This eminently practical guide to implementing the GDPR – written in an original, problem-solving style by a highly experienced data protection expert with equal knowledge of both law and technology – provides a step-by-step project management approach to building a GDPR-compliant data protection system, assessing, and documenting the risks and then implementing these changes through processes at the operational level. With detailed attention to case law (Member State, ECJ, and ECHR), especially where affecting high-risk areas that have attracted scrutiny, the guidance proceeds systematically through such topics and issues as the following: required documentation, policies, and procedures; risk assessment tools and analysis frameworks; children’s data; employee and health data; international transfers post-Schrems II; data subject rights including the right of access; data retention and erasure; tracking and surveillance; and effects of technologies such as artificial intelligence, biometrics, and machine learning. With its practical examples derived from the author’s experience in building GDPR-compliant software, as well as its analysis of case law and enforcement priorities, this incomparable guide enables company data protection officers and compliance staff to advise on key issues with full awareness of the legal and reputational risks and how to mitigate them. It is also sure to be of immeasurable value to concerned regulators and policymakers at all government levels. “…it's going to be the go to resource for practitioners.” Tom Gilligan, Data Protection Consultant, September 2021 "I purchased this book recently and I’m very glad I did. It’s the textbook I have been waiting for. As someone relatively new to data protection, I was finding it very difficult to find books on the practical side of data protection. This book is very clearly laid out with practical examples and case law given for each topic, which is immensely helpful. I would recommend it to any data protection practitioners." Book The FAO Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance 2021 2025

Download or read book The FAO Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance 2021 2025 written by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and published by Food & Agriculture Org.. This book was released on 2021-11-19 with total page 46 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Due to antimicrobial resistance (AMR), drug-resistant infections are placing an ever-increasing burden on human, animal, plant, and environmental health. Drug-resistant infections have the potential to become leading causes of death. AMR may force tens of millions more people into extreme poverty, hunger, and malnutrition, and the associated economic losses are projected at several percent of gross domestic product. However, we can prevent this from happening – if we act quickly. This document outlines the FAO Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance 2021–2025 which serves as a roadmap for focusing global efforts to address AMR in the food and agriculture sectors. The aim of this plan is to help accelerate progress in developing and implementing multi-sectoral National Action Plans to tackle AMR by calling attention to strategic priorities and areas of expertise for FAO support. The action plan was developed by a multidisciplinary FAO team to ensure that all relevant dimensions – including terrestrial and aquatic animal health and production, crop production, food and feed safety, genetic resources, natural resource management, risk communication, and behavior change - are considered, with attention to regulatory frameworks, standards, norm-setting and bottom-up processes of collective action. By working together, food systems, livelihoods, and economies will be better protected from the destabilizing forces of untreatable illness.
