Download or read book Liquid Rocket Engine Combustion Instability written by Vigor Young and published by AIAA. This book was released on 1995 with total page 606 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Annotation Since the invention of the V-2 rocket during World War II, combustion instabilities have been recognized as one of the most difficult problems in the development of liquid propellant rocket engines. This book is the first published in the United States on the subject since NASA's Liquid Rocket Combustion Instability (NASA SP-194) in 1972. In this book, experts cover four major subject areas: engine phenomenology and case studies, fundamental mechanisms of combustion instability, combustion instability analysis, and engine and component testing. Especially noteworthy is the inclusion of technical information from Russia and China--a first.
Download or read book Fundamentals of Rocket Propulsion written by DP Mishra and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-07-20 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book follows a unified approach to present the basic principles of rocket propulsion in concise and lucid form. This textbook comprises of ten chapters ranging from brief introduction and elements of rocket propulsion, aerothermodynamics to solid, liquid and hybrid propellant rocket engines with chapter on electrical propulsion. Worked out examples are also provided at the end of chapter for understanding uncertainty analysis. This book is designed and developed as an introductory text on the fundamental aspects of rocket propulsion for both undergraduate and graduate students. It is also aimed towards practicing engineers in the field of space engineering. This comprehensive guide also provides adequate problems for audience to understand intricate aspects of rocket propulsion enabling them to design and develop rocket engines for peaceful purposes.

Download or read book Handbook of Atomization and Sprays written by Nasser Ashgriz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-02-18 with total page 922 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Atomization and sprays are used in a wide range of industries: mechanical, chemical, aerospace, and civil engineering; material science and metallurgy; food; pharmaceutical, forestry, environmental protection; medicine; agriculture; meteorology and others. Some specific applications are spray combustion in furnaces, gas turbines and rockets, spray drying and cooling, air conditioning, powdered metallurgy, spray painting and coating, inhalation therapy, and many others. The Handbook of Atomization and Sprays will bring together the fundamental and applied material from all fields into one comprehensive source. Subject areas included in the reference are droplets, theoretical models and numerical simulations, phase Doppler particle analysis, applications, devices and more.

Download or read book Liquid Propellant Rocket Combustion Instability written by David T. Harrje and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 668 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The solution of problems of combustion instability for more effective communication between the various workers in this field is considered. The extent of combustion instability problems in liquid propellant rocket engines and recommendations for their solution are discussed. The most significant developments, both theoretical and experimental, are presented, with emphasis on fundamental principles and relationships between alternative approaches.
Download or read book A Flight Evaluation and Analysis of the Effect of Icing Conditions on the ZPG 2 Airship written by William Lewis and published by . This book was released on 1958 with total page 648 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A series of test flights was conducted by the U. S. Navy over a 3-year period to evaluate the effects of icing on the operation of the ZFG-2 airship. In supercooled clouds, ice formed only on the forward edges of small protuberances and wires and presented no serious hazard to operation. Ice secretions of the glaze type which occurred in conditions described as freezing drizzle adversely affected various components to a somewhat greater extent. The results indicated a need for protection of certain components such as antennas, propellers, ad certain parts of the control system.
