La santé bucco-dentaire n'est pas restée en marge de cette transformation sociale et technologique. La réputation des dentistes reposait essentiellement sur le « bouche à oreilles » qui se développe désormais à travers les médias sociaux. Les médias sociaux regroupent l'ensemble des plateformes digitales accessibles par Internet et permettant à ses membres de communiquer, de créer et de diffuser du contenu. Avec l'essor du numérique, les moyens de communication des cabinets dentaires évoluent. Nous nous intéressons à l'influence de ces changements sur les critères de choix d'un chirurgien-dentiste par les patients jeunes adultes qui maitrisent bien les nouvelles technologies. Nous avons mené une enquête par questionnaire auto-administré auprès de jeunes adultes diplômés d'une école de commerce ou d'ingénieur et résidant en Île de France. Ce questionnaire renseigne sur leurs habitudes de consultation d'un chirurgien-dentiste par les répondants ainsi que sur leur choix de praticien à travers un abord général puis à travers le recours aux nouvelles technologies de l'information. Notre hypothèse initiale est la suivante : nous supposons que ces nouveaux moyens de communication impactent le choix du chirurgien-dentiste par les patients jeunes adultes.

C'est fort de toutes ces constatations et parce que nous sommes dans une période où savoir communiquer permet de faire la différence en garantissant le succès d'une bonne activité, qu'il a semblé intéressant d'aborder cette thématique dans le cadre de cet ouvrage. La confiance établit entre le Chirurgien-Dentiste et son patient sera gage de conditions de prise en charge idéales donnant même envie au patient de faire écho du travail de son praticien autour de lui. Ainsi, en partant de concepts généraux de communication, cette thèse cherche à contextualiser les choses pour mieux comprendre comment communiquer efficacement avec le patient au sein d'un cabinet dentaire. Dans un second temps, sont présentés différents outils et interfaces qui vont permettre d'aider à la mise en œuvre d'une communication optimisée et spécifique pour le Chirurgien-Dentiste à destination du patient que ce soit dans le cabinet ou même en dehors. Cette ouvrage développe ainsi un sujet bien d'actualité, complémentaire à l'activité du Chirurgien-Dentiste, qu'il est important de connaître sans avoir besoin, pour autant, de devenir un spécialiste en matière de communication, mais aussi sans tomber dans des travers qui pourraient tenter le praticien à des approches motivées d'intention anti-éthique.

It is now widely recognized that human resources for health (HRH) are a key enabler for the attainment of universal health coverage, and for the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 - Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. As is stressed in the Global Strategy on Human Resources for Health: Workforce 2030, there can be no viable national, or global, health system without an effective health workforce. The Global Strategy, adopted at the Sixty-ninth World Health Assembly in May 2016, challenges the erroneous narrative of health workers as a unit of cost in the production of health. The evidence instead presents an intersectoral agenda on the pre-condition of equitable access to health workers in the attainment of universal health coverage, along with a dynamic labour market understanding of the substantive impact on education, employment, jobs and innovation in the health and social care economy. The Global Strategy, therefore, enables governments and other relevant stakeholders to adopt a holistic, rather than fragmented, approach to ensuring that the health workforce contributes both to improved health and to broader socioeconomic development.
