Download or read book Images Resolved and Saved written by Norman Kattwinkel and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2007-12 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The life story of a physician who defines himself through his recollection of the people he's known. While recognizing the importance of self-fulfillment and hard work to achieve personal goals, he relates a moving tale of encouragement, teaching, and enlightenment provided by those who helped to guide him to where he is today. Through a series of essays and personality profiles he reminds us of the importance of role models and family values in living a rewarding and satisfying life, and his own coming to faith along the way. Now retired from a long career at a major medical center, the author has turned to writing as a second career, consistent with his plan to avoid "leaving without a trace", and becoming a better person and role model as his time shortens. The author hopes this slender volume will serve to inspire those in the afternoon years of their lives, those who recognize the debt they owe to others, and those who wrestle with the desire to leave a gift of recognition and appreciation. The author's spirituality lies at the heart of this effort. The road to faith is a life-long journey, full of doubt at times, but rewarding, satisfying, fulfilling and leaving room for hope.

Today, we collect and store an ever-increasing volume of digital personal information on convenient portable devices and create substantial amounts of personal textual and visual digital information on their personal computers. We have become accustomed to using a variety of tools that involve interactive social activities. Because of social media, there is a large amount of user-generated content related to all aspects of our lives and there is no way for creators to save it all and invaluable content ranging from personal notes to photos to medical information may be lost. Because we may lose so much information, it is helpful to find out as much as we can about how we can manage our personal digital information. This book is a primer to preventing that loss. Here is an introduction to Personal Information Management (PIM) intended for a lay audience. The basic premise is that everyone needs to manage their digital information. This book introduces readers to the kinds of tools people most commonly use today. It will also consider the pros and cons of each of these tools. This book cover he concepts associated with preserving and managing personal digital information. Visual and textual examples illustrate how to use best practices to ensure the longevity of information, while considering current solutions to the problems associated with personal information loss. The book is a detailed guide to the steps involved in managing information and images of all kinds: Receiving Generating Keeping Using Organizing Re-finding Sharing. Most of us don’t know how to prevent information loss; this book introduces tools that will ensure the longevity of our digital lives.
Download or read book Image Super Resolution and Applications written by Fathi E. Abd El-Samie and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2012-12-15 with total page 505 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to the issue of image super-resolution—obtaining high-resolution images from single or multiple low-resolution images. Although there are numerous algorithms available for image interpolation and super-resolution, there’s been a need for a book that establishes a common thread between the two processes. Filling this need, Image Super-Resolution and Applications presents image interpolation as a building block in the super-resolution reconstruction process. Instead of approaching image interpolation as either a polynomial-based problem or an inverse problem, this book breaks the mold and compares and contrasts the two approaches. It presents two directions for image super-resolution: super-resolution with a priori information and blind super-resolution reconstruction of images. It also devotes chapters to the two complementary steps used to obtain high-resolution images: image registration and image fusion. Details techniques for color image interpolation and interpolation for pattern recognition Analyzes image interpolation as an inverse problem Presents image registration methodologies Considers image fusion and its application in image super resolution Includes simulation experiments along with the required MATLAB® code Supplying complete coverage of image-super resolution and its applications, the book illustrates applications for image interpolation and super-resolution in medical and satellite image processing. It uses MATLAB® programs to present various techniques, including polynomial image interpolation and adaptive polynomial image interpolation. MATLAB codes for most of the simulation experiments supplied in the book are included in the appendix.

Download or read book Vray 5 0 NEXT User Guide written by Serdar Hakan DÜZGÖREN and published by Serdar Hakan DÜZGÖREN. This book was released on with total page 1954 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Universal V-Ray Settings This page provides a tutorial on universal settings for V-Ray that work for most still images. Overview The "universal" settings comprise a set of settings that work very well for still images in many situations and are the default for V-Ray Next. Please note that these settings are not optimal, in the sense that with enough tweaking, you can probably get similar quality with faster render times. The beauty of these settings, though, is that they require almost no tweaking, and you are guaranteed to get a good result in the end. The advantages of these settings are: o very little parameters for controlling render quality vs. speed o works for a very large number of scenes o produces high-quality results With the Progressive Image Sampler, the default Render time (min) is set to 1.0, which might be insufficient for some scenes. You can reset this to 0.0 min and rendering will continue until the Noise threshold is reached. Setting the V-Ray Renderer 1. Set V-Ray as the current rendering engine (with the default V-Ray settings). 2. The default settings are optimized to work universally, so it is recommended to keep them: Progressive image sampler with 100 Max. subdivs and 1 Min. subdivs; GI enabled, using Brute Force as Primary GI engine and Light Cache as Secondary GI engine. 3. You can further refine the noise levels from the Progressive Image sampler rollout by adjusting the Noise Threshold and placing a 0 value for the Render time (min). 4. You can control the amount of AA vs shading samples (for materials/lights/GI) using the Min shading rate parameter in the Image Sampler rollout but the default value is optimised to work well for the majority of scenes.

This book was released on 2015-12-16 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Museums and historic sites faced with small budgets and staff can find it intimidating to redesign or create a website from scratch. Concerns over resources make coding and designing (or hiring someone to do so) daunting and expensive. It does not have to be so. The advice and techniques are all created with an eye to making websites work for smaller institutions with limited budgets and timeframes. Every museum professional has come across issues when adapting general software for an institution’s specific needs, and the information in this book will anticipate some of these needs by offering easytoimplement workarounds and information on related software or services that integrate with each website. Features include: Howto guides for Wix, Weebly, WordPress, and Google Sites Detailed comparisons of WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors by cost, features, and easeofuse so that you can easily identify which platforms meet your needs Mythbusting of common website and computer assumptions Stepbystep content and design planning guide Basic HTML coding tricks and tips for the slightly more advanced users (or those who want to become so) • A free companion Web site includes links to online resources, ongoing updates to this book to keep it current, and links to other free online tools and software.
