Complimented by the "Trap 3 Little Pigs" song, the story involves a hungry wolf who just needs an entree for his dinner date, as well as three intelligent and athletic pigs. Although the story is structured as a children's book, the mixture of modern pop culture references and relatable humor is meant to be enjoyed by all ages. Book Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig

Download or read book Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig written by Eugene Trivizas and published by . This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A subversive and hilarious spin on the well-loved fairy tale. The three little wolves erect first a solid brick house. The big bad pig comes along and when huffing and puffing fails to work, he uses a sledgehammer to bring the house down. Next they build a home of concrete: The pig demolishes it with his pneumatic drill. The three little wolves choose an even stronger design next time round: They erect a house, made of steel, barbed wire, armor plates and video entry system, but the pig finds a way to demolish it too. It is only when the wolves construct a rather fragile house made of cherry blossoms, daffodils, pink roses, and marigolds that the pig has a change of heart ... A great read for children who enjoyed The Wolf's Story by Toby Forward. Kids aged 5 and up will enjoy this hilarious, subversive and brilliant read aloud picture book. Book Conversational Narrative

Download or read book Conversational Narrative written by Neal R. Norrick and published by John Benjamins Publishing. This book was released on 2000-09-15 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book investigates the forms and functions of storytelling in everyday conversation. It develops a rhetoric of everyday storytelling through an integrated approach to both the internal structure and the contextual integration of narrative passages. It aims at a more complete picture of oral narrative through analysis of a wider range of natural data, including personal anecdotes told for humor, put-down stories told for self-aggrandizement, family stories retold to ratify membership and so on, as well as marginal stories and narrative-like passages to delineate the boundaries of conversational storytelling and to test the analytical techniques proposed. Using transcriptions of stories from everyday talk, Norrick explores disfluencies, formulaicity and repetition as teller strategies and listener cues alongside global phenomena such as retelling and narrative macrostructures. He also extends his analysis to narrative jokes from conversation and to narrative passages in drama, namely Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet” and Beckett’s “Endgame”.
