Download or read book 50 giochi di ice breaking written by a cura di ADV Assessment Lab and published by Edizioni FerrariSinibaldi. This book was released on 2012-03-13 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book PopCo written by Scarlett Thomas and published by HMH. This book was released on 2005-10-03 with total page 515 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The code-breaking and -making heroine of [this] smart, engaging novel takes a critical view of the corporate marketing of cool . . . a captivating heroine.” —Publishers Weekly Twentysomething Alice Butler is a bit of an introvert, but it hasn’t stopped her from landing a job at the UK office of globally successful—if slightly sinister—toy company PopCo. There’s no dress code, but that doesn’t keep Alice’s coworkers from commenting on her “Bletchley Park look” outfits. Now the CEO wants the creatives on the staff to attend what the organization calls “Thought Camp” and invent an insidious product that will part as many teenage girls from their allowances as possible. Alice isn’t feeling so comfortable about her supposedly cool new job. But she has another problem to solve first. She’s started to receive bizarre encrypted messages, and they may have something to do with her cryptanalyst grandfather; her long-disappeared father; a centuries-old manuscript; and the possibility of buried treasure. Alice is convinced the engraving on the necklace she’s been wearing since she was ten years old holds the key to it all. But the secrets she uncovers may take her by surprise, in this highly original novel that blends code, mathematics, marketing, mystery, and more, “a sort of Harriet-the-Spy-meets-Douglas-Coupland with a Treasure Island twist” (Daily Candy). “How many novels can you think of that leave the reader with an intriguing puzzle to solve, plus a cake recipe, plus a crossword and a list of the first thousand prime numbers? Clever, likeable, frothy, zeitgeist-chasing.” —Time Out London

When Josie, an anthropology grad student, is unexpectedly offered a job as the nanny for a six-year-old boy, she innocently accepts. Though Josie doesn’t necessarily need the job, there’s something about her ward’s single mom, Mary—her beauty, her confidence, her resemblance to Josie’s estranged mother—that’s soothing to Josie. It also breeds betrayal when Josie moves in on Mary’s crush, Devesh. An Indian surgeon ten years Josie’s senior, Devesh is a strong and enigmatic man who pulls Josie into a dizzying world of sexual domination and submission that speaks to her deeply hidden impulses. In this world of increasingly brutal games, Josie is forced to confront her damaged and disturbing past. An unflinching look at the irrevocable consequences of giving in to our most secret passions, Playing “is a breathless read, whose rewards are both unpredictable and unforgettable” (Howard Norman, Whiting Award-winning author of The Bird Artist).

Download or read book Patient Engagement written by Guendalina Graffigna and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2016-01-01 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Patient engagement should be envisaged as a key priority today to innovate healthcare services delivery and to make it more effective and sustainable. The experience of engagement is a key qualifier of the exchange between the demand (i.e. citizens/patients) and the supply process of healthcare services. To understand and detect the strategic levers that sustain a good quality of patients’ engagement may thus allow not only to improve clinical outcomes, but also to increase patients’ satisfaction and to reduce the organizational costs of the delivery of services. By assuming a relational marketing perspective, the book offers practical insights about the developmental process of patients’ engagement, by suggesting concrete tools for assessing the levels of patients’ engagement and strategies to sustain it. Crucial resources to implement these strategies are also the new technologies that should be (1) implemented according to precise guidelines and (2) designed according to a user-centered design process. Furthermore, the book describes possible fields of patients’ engagement application by describing the best practices and experiences matured in different fields
Download or read book Positive Technology Designing E experiences for Positive Change written by Andrea Gaggioli and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2019-09-23 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the potential role that digital technologies can play in promoting well-being. Smartphones, wearable devices, virtual/augmented reality, social media, and the internet provide a wealth of useful tools and resources to support psychological interventions that facilitate positive emotions, resilience, personal growth, creativity, and social connectedness. Understanding the full extent of this potential, however, requires an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the scientific principles of well-being into the design of e-experiences that foster positive change. This book provides an overview of recent advances and future challenges in Positive Technology, an emergent field within human-computer interaction that seeks to understand how interactive technologies can be used in evidence-based well-being interventions. Its focus of analysis is two-fold: at the theoretical level, Positive Technology aims to develop conceptual frameworks and models for understanding how computers can be effectively used to help individuals achieve greater well-being. At the methodological and applied level, Positive Technology is concerned with the design, development, and validation of digital experiences that promote positive change through pleasure, flow, meaning, competence, and positive relationships.
Download or read book Mental Spaces in Grammar written by Barbara Dancygier and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2005-07-07 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Conditional constructions have long fascinated linguists, grammarians and philosophers. In this pioneering new study, Barbara Dancygier and Eve Sweetser offer a new descriptive framework for the study of conditionality, broadening the range of richly described conditional constructions. They explore theoretical issues such as the mental-space-building processes underlying conditional thinking and the form-meaning relationship involved in expressing conditionality. Using a broad range of attested English conditional constructions, the book examines inter-constructional relationships. Within the framework of Mental Spaces Theory, shared parameters of meaning are shown to be relevant to conditional constructions generally, as well as related temporal and causal constructions. This significant contribution to the field will be welcomed by a wide range of researchers in theoretical and cognitive linguistics.
