Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Download or read book La realt rurale delle fattorie didattiche in Italia written by Adriano Sofo and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-11-20 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Handbook of Research on Play Specialism Strategies to Prevent Pediatric Hospitalization Trauma written by Perasso, Giulia and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2022-10-14 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hospitalization can cause short-term to long-term issues to children’s biopsychosocial health. Play strategies have played a key role in preventing hospitalization trauma. Properly trained play specialists provide children with structured play activities that have proven to be effective in diminishing anxiety, depression, and negative emotions among in-patient children and their parents. These techniques are beneficial to ameliorating children’s and parents’ coping strategies and treatment compliance. However, discrepancies among countries’ healthcare systems in recognizing the value of play highlights the need for major awareness in the field. The Handbook of Research on Play Specialism Strategies to Prevent Pediatric Hospitalization Trauma spreads knowledge about the potential of playing to protect and increase children's health during hospitalization. The book focuses on play strategies counteracting pediatric patients’ trauma, anxiety, depression, and other biopsychosocial negative consequences. It discusses the rights of hospitalized children and the strengths of the play specialism approach. Covering topics such as chronically ill children, pediatric oncology, and culturally sustaining practices, this premier reference source is an excellent resource for child psychologists, psychotherapists, neuroscientists, pedagogists, psychiatrists, nurses, physicians, health sociologists, pediatricians, play specialists, students and faculty of higher education, librarians, researchers, and academicians.

Download or read book Itinerari di storia sociale dell educazione occidentale Volume Secondo written by Rita Minello and published by Edizioni Nuova Cultura. This book was released on 2014-03-05 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Digital Resources Creativity and Innovative Methodologies in Language Teaching and Learning written by Adriana Teresa Damascelli and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2017-06-20 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concept of university language centres has changed in recent decades. Initially conceived as laboratories for practical and autonomous language-learning, they are now considered as places with more specific and complex functions in language teaching and learning. University language centres now constitute networks for exchanging knowledge and know-how in order to respond to ever-changing, multilingual and multicultural contexts. At the same time, the availability and acquisition of new technologies is contributing to the creation of new tools for the provision of appropriate services and training. This collection covers a wide range of topics related to the activities, experiences and applied research carried out in Italian university language centres. It provides further evidence of the important role university language centres play in promoting language expertise, developing tools and adopting digital resources, and providing support and training for language teaching. Technology, creativity, methodologies and plurilingualism are key topics in the book as they constitute the essential ingredients for effective and successful language teaching and learning. The volume’s thirty-three chapters provide multi-perspective approaches, showing how the real contexts of current language education need the integration of theoretical backgrounds with the best practices resulting from practical experience.

Download or read book Not Playing Around written by Andrew M. Colombo-Dougovito and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2022-08-16 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A 2023 Choice Reviews Outstanding Academic Title This book provides an accessible space for interdisciplinary scholarship and narrative through an analysis of the power of media and sports, focusing on the intersectionality of identity, politics, social justice, and social movements within this context. Contributors examine how identities coalesce in sports and discuss the ways in which sports provide spaces for marginalized communities and create unique platforms that shift how society defines identity. Athletes’ identities and actions—and mass media’s representation thereof—can influence both the perceptions of society as a whole and how individuals view themselves, contributors argue. Each chapter delves into how different aspects of identity, including race, gender, disability, and sexuality, have developed and influenced social change, with a strong focus on lived experiences of both scholars and athletes from marginalized communities. Scholars of media studies, communication, sociology, and kinesiology may find this book particularly useful.

Download or read book The Oxford Handbook of the Archaeology of Childhood written by Sally Crawford and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2018-05-10 with total page 892 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Real understanding of past societies is not possible without including children, and yet they have been strangely invisible in the archaeological record. Compelling explanation about past societies cannot be achieved without including and investigating children and childhood. However marginal the traces of children's bodies and bricolage may seem compared to adults, archaeological evidence of children and childhood can be found in the most astonishing places and spaces. The archaeology of childhood is one of the most exciting and challenging areas for new discovery about past societies. Children are part of every human society, but childhood is a cultural construct. Each society develops its own idea about what a childhood should be, what children can or should do, and how they are trained to take their place in the world. Children also play a part in creating the archaeological record itself. In this volume, experts from around the world ask questions about childhood - thresholds of age and growth, childhood in the material culture, the death of children, and the intersection of the childhood and the social, economic, religious, and political worlds of societies in the past.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Authority Gender and Midwifery in Early Modern Italy written by Jennifer F. Kosmin and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-08-31 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Authority, Gender, and Midwifery in Early Modern Italy: Contested Deliveries explores attempts by church, state, and medical authorities to regulate and professionalize the practice of midwifery in Italy from the late sixteenth to the late eighteenth century. Medical writers in this period devoted countless pages to investigating the secrets of women’s sexuality and the processes of generation. By the eighteenth century, male practitioners in Britain and France were even successfully advancing careers as male midwives. Yet, female midwives continued to manage the vast majority of all early modern births. An examination of developments in Italy, where male practitioners never made successful inroads into childbirth, brings into focus the complex social, religious, and political contexts that shaped the management of reproduction in early modern Europe. Authority, Gender, and Midwifery in Early Modern Italy argues that new institutional spaces to care for pregnant women and educate midwives in Italy during the eighteenth century were not strictly medical developments but rather socio-political responses both to long standing concerns about honor, shame, and illegitimacy, and contemporary unease about population growth and productivity. In so doing, this book complicates our understanding of such sites, situating them within a longer genealogy of institutional spaces in Italy aimed at regulating sexual morality and protecting female honor. It will be of interest to scholars of the history of medicine, religious history, social history, and Early Modern Italy.
