Download or read book Men Are from Mars Women Are from Venus written by John Gray and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 1993-04-23 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Popular marriage counselor and seminar leader John Gray provides a unique, practical and proven way for men and women to communicate and relate better by acknowledging the differences between them. Once upon a time Martians and Venusians met, fell in love, and had happy relationships together because they respected and accepted their differences. Then they came to earth and amnesia set in: they forgot they were from different planets. Using this metaphor to illustrate the commonly occurring conflicts between men and women, Gray explains how these differences can come between the sexes and prohibit mutually fulfilling loving relationships. Based on years of successful counseling of couples, he gives advice on how to counteract these differences in communication styles, emotional needs and modes of behavior to promote a greater understanding between individual partners. Gray shows how men and women react differently in conversation and how their relationships are affected by male intimacy cycles ("get close", "back off"), and female self-esteem fluctuations ("I'm okay", "I'm not okay"). He encourages readers to accept the other gender's particular way of expressing love, and helps men and women learn how to fulfill each other's emotional needs. With practical suggestions on how to reduce conflict, crucial information on how to interpret a partner's behavior and methods for preventing emotional "trash from the past" from invading new relationships, Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus is a valuable tool for couples who want to develop deeper and more satisfying relationships with their partners.

Download or read book A Sudden Glory written by Sharon Jaynes and published by Multnomah. This book was released on 2012-08-21 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you long for something more in your relationship with God? The good news is that “something more” does not mean “doing more.” God is not waiting for you to get your spiritual life “right.” He wants to be with you right where you are. The real question is not “What does God want from you?” but “What does God want for you?” Sharon Jaynes understands what it’s like to have a “glory ache”—a longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis. She also knows how easily working for God can get in the way of intimacy with God. And she’s discovered that we tend to make our faith journey much too hard. In A Sudden Glory, Sharon uses Scripture and story to help you erase the line between your “spiritual life” and your “daily life” as you enter the sanctuary of God’s presence even in the middle of your busy, messy day. Here you will find your eyes opened to moments of sudden glory in which the Creator assures you of His love as you live and move and have your being in Him. Here you will discover true freedom—the freedom of experiencing God in a deeper and more intimate way than ever before. Includes Bible study and discussion guide.
Download or read book Nice People Rob God written by Althea Patrick RN MSN LNC and published by WestBowPress. This book was released on 2013-11-01 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Will a person rob God? Yes however, nice people have robbed themselves by selecting not to be a cheerful giver (Malachi 3:6). Nice people will lean toward just hearing Gods word, where as effective Christians become an active listener and a doer of Gods word. Do you know by attempting to rob God you are really robbing your self from living life more abundantly? Many are call to the altar of salvation but only a few are chosen to pick up the cross and follow Him. The test of your faith for some is not at the altar of salvation it is after leaving the benediction. Nice people suffer from under use of faith, and as a result they suffer from undeveloped faith, and insufficient good works. The purpose in faith building is so you can produce good works. We rob God when we do not produce good works according to the development of the measure of faith God has given you. Seeking first the kingdom of heaven is an opportunity for you to come to know Gods plan and purpose concerning your life. Jeremiah 29: 11 works as a Global Positioning System in seeking the kingdom of heaven and its righteousness. Robbing God should no longer be an option nor a life style for nice people. Hence, living life for Christ becomes the only effective way of living. Nice people are often consumed with the things of this world rather then a consumer of the things of God. As a result they have robbed God by not feeding their spirit after salvation with heavenly substance that can only be found through seeking the kingdom of heaven and its righteousness. With men this is impossible: but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26, (KJV)

Download or read book I Married a Christian Porn Addict written by E.M. Merritt and published by LifeRich Publishing. This book was released on 2019-11-29 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians have always known that pornography violates the teaching of Jesus not to look at someone with lust. But now even secular sex experts are waking up to the reality that rather than enhancing marriages, porn is destroying marriages. Young men on YouTube are confessing that they don’t want to be porn addicts anymore. They want to be able to perform when they’re with a real woman and porn has undermined that. This book isn’t written by a porn expert. It’s not written by a therapist, a counsellor or a pastor. This book is written by a theology major. This is the story of a Christian marriage that was put to the test and eventually destroyed by porn. And it is the story of spiritual abuse. Rather than admit that he was going against his Christian faith, Martin (not his real name), a lifelong Christian and father of five, used scriptures to justify his addiction and to abuse his wife. This is also the story of a jealous God who wanted Martin’s wife to know, this isn’t Me! This is something wicked! The same is true is if you have been abused by a priest, a pastor or any trusted person who God set up to be responsible for taking care of you, not for abusing you or taking advantage of you. God wants to talk to you. This book by a victim of domestic abuse may be your first step in hearing his personal words to you. Through a life of seemingly random events, including an unexpected trip to the Holy Land, Elsie Merritt learned that prayer can be a two-way conversation. Let Elsie’s story draw you into the greatest love story ever.
