Book 802 1aq Shortest Path Bridging Design and Evolution

Download or read book 802 1aq Shortest Path Bridging Design and Evolution written by David Allan and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2012-03-13 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Facilitates both the understanding and adoption of 802.1aq as a networking solution 802.1aq Shortest Path Bridging (SPB) is a technology that greatly simplifies the creation and configuration of carrier, enterprise, and cloud computing networks—by using modern computing power to deprecate signaling, and to integrate multicast, multipath routing, and large-scale virtualization. It is arguably one of the most significant enhancements in Ethernet's history. 802.1aq Shortest Path Bridging Design and Evolution explains both the "what" and the "why" of the technology standard being set today. It covers which decisions were elective and which were dictated by the design goals by using a multipart approach that first explains what SPB is, before transitioning into narrative form to describe the design processes and decisions behind it. To make SPB accessible to the data networking professional from multiple perspectives, the book: Provides a "Reader's Companion" to the standard Dissects the different elements of SPB Offers applications and potential futures for the technology 802.1aq Shortest Path Bridging Design and Evolution will appeal to system implementers, system and network architects, academics, IT professionals, and general networking professionals.

Book The IEEE Guide to Writing in the Engineering and Technical Fields

Download or read book The IEEE Guide to Writing in the Engineering and Technical Fields written by David Kmiec and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2017-09-25 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Helps both engineers and students improve their writing skills by learning to analyze target audience, tone, and purpose in order to effectively write technical documents This book introduces students and practicing engineers to all the components of writing in the workplace. It teaches readers how considerations of audience and purpose govern the structure of their documents within particular work settings. The IEEE Guide to Writing in the Engineering and Technical Fields is broken up into two sections: “Writing in Engineering Organizations” and “What Can You Do With Writing?” The first section helps readers approach their writing in a logical and persuasive way as well as analyze their purpose for writing. The second section demonstrates how to distinguish rhetorical situations and the generic forms to inform, train, persuade, and collaborate. The emergence of the global workplace has brought with it an increasingly important role for effective technical communication. Engineers more often need to work in cross-functional teams with people in different disciplines, in different countries, and in different parts of the world. Engineers must know how to communicate in a rapidly evolving global environment, as both practitioners of global English and developers of technical documents. Effective communication is critical in these settings. The IEEE Guide to Writing in the Engineering and Technical Fields Addresses the increasing demand for technical writing courses geared toward engineers Allows readers to perfect their writing skills in order to present knowledge and ideas to clients, government, and general public Covers topics most important to the working engineer, and includes sample documents Includes a companion website that offers engineering documents based on real projects The IEEE Guide to Engineering Communication is a handbook developed specifically for engineers and engineering students. Using an argumentation framework, the handbook presents information about forms of engineering communication in a clear and accessible format. This book introduces both forms that are characteristic of the engineering workplace and principles of logic and rhetoric that underlie these forms. As a result, students and practicing engineers can improve their writing in any situation they encounter, because they can use these principles to analyze audience, purpose, tone, and form.

Book Software Reuse

    Book Details:
  • Author : Carma McClure
  • Publisher : Wiley-IEEE Computer Society Press
  • Release : 2001-07-11
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 322 pages

Download or read book Software Reuse written by Carma McClure and published by Wiley-IEEE Computer Society Press. This book was released on 2001-07-11 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reuse is one of the simplest and oldest concepts in programming - and one that is often underutilized. When implemented purposefully and correctly, reuse can save time and money as well as create an inventory of valuable and reusable software assets. Dr. Carma McClure, one of the principal writers of the IEEE's Software Reuse Standard 1517, provides clear, concise, and applied information to make effective software reuse a reality. This book provides specific instructions for implementing reuse within the context of the IEEE/EIA Standard 12207 - Standard for Information Technology ? Software Life Cycle Processes. This new guide aids the reader in interpreting the meaning of the standard, implementing the standard, and applying the standard. Like IEEE Std. 1517, this book is written for both managers and technical personnel involved in acquiring, supplying, or developing software applications and systems or reusable assets.

Download or read book IEEE Standard for Information Technology Telecommunications and Information Exchange Between Systems Local and Metropolitan Area Networks Specific Requirements written by and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This amendment specifies the extensions to IEEE Std 802.11 for Wireless Local Area Networks providing specifications for conformant operation beyond the original six regulatory domains of that standard. These extensions provide a mechanism for an IEEE Std 802.11 access point to deliver the required radio transmitter parameters to an IEEE Std 802.11 mobile station, which allows that station to configure its radio to operate within the applicable regulations of a geographic or political subdivision. This mechanism is applicable to all IEEE Std 802.11 PHY types. A secondary benefit of the mechanism described in this amendment is the ability for an IEEE Std 802.11 mobile station to roam between regulatory domains.
