Mr. Huntly describes his fears of an untimely death, or of being one of the many missing boys, as well as the horrific conditions while working in the slaughterhouse. He tells how the young black boys suffered like that of slave. These young boys worked under more severe conditions than the white boys, and years later the unmarked graves of several boys were discovered. After more than sixty years, Mr. Huntly still bears the physical and mental scars as a testament to years of severe abuse.
