Download or read book Poetic Therapy For A Sistah s Soul written by Kay Cook and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-03-15 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Poetic Therapy For A Sistah's Soul is a compilation of poetry and random thoughts about love, life, and all that craziness in between. For me it was my release, a form of therapy as I was going through a life change, i.e. divorce. It kept me from acting out and busting folk windows, and setting folk on fire-stuff like that...Praise God! Yes I do believe everybody has a story, but more importantly every woman has a voice, and needs and wants to be heard. I hope this book makes you laugh, prompts you to think about things a little differently and gives you some inspiration. I hope it encourages you to open your mouth, to find your way to express how you feel about the people and things the affect you down to the bone, and know it's okay. Don't hang on to stuff, release it and find your happy. I encourage you to keep God first, pray, and get yourself together mentally and physically because you are your #1 advocate in love, life, and all that craziness in between...BOOM! Words, thoughts, ideas put in some form or order I crave something to free me to soothe my soul I need to express what I think and what I feel I pray these words help me heal I do find some relief in what I write random thoughts put to paper a little humor, a little truth and in some a little spite...uumm remember, I am a woman but I do believe at the end of the day as random as my words may be they too express what you feel what you think, afraid even or can't seem to say

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Small-Town Amateur Sleuth Mystery Romance Series boxset This is a boxset of books 7-9 in The Father Tom Mysteries. Meet Father Tom Greer and Detective Helen Parr, former lovers reunited after twenty years, as they solve crimes old and new--and explore the profound mysteries of the human heart. The Purloined Paintings (Book 7)--Detective Helen Parr is recovering from being shot in Leslie Williams’ basement and is anxious to get back to work. With the police department in the hands of Acting Chief Detective Dan Conway, Father Tom Greer is determined that his fiance follows her doctor’s orders and rests. All that’s needed for this to happen is for life to be quiet and peaceful. But this is Myerton, and this town nestled in the mountains of Western Maryland is far from quiet and peaceful. First comes the murder of Bethany Grable, owner of The Painted Lotus art gallery and old friend of Father Tom. Dan’s convinced she was the victim of a robbery gone wrong. Father Tom, on the other hand, is not so sure. Then comes the wave of overdose deaths of young students at Myer College. Someone is selling fentanyl at prices college kids can afford. They’re all art majors, and all of them happen to have had pieces displayed in Bethany’s gallery. Coincidence? Or is there a connection between the ODs and Bethany Grable’s murder? And if so, what is the connection? Father Tom decides to try to find out for himself who killed his old friend and why. But doing so could put the life of a young man in danger, and irreparably harm his friendship with Dan. Along the way, Father Tom learns that Helen wasn’t the only person wounded in that basement . . . The Slain Saint (Book 8)--When a beloved older priest is found murdered in the Rectory's guest room, Father Tom and Helen try to find the person who wanted him dead. But they find that even saints have secrets . . . and those secrets may have gotten him killed. The Perfect Patsy (Book 9)--When the body of Ashley Becket is found naked, tied up, and butchered in Nate Rodriguez’s bed, Father Tom can’t believe the young man’s responsible. Then, it’s discovered Ashley was a prostitute . . . and Nate was a frequent customer. As the rumors fly around Saint Clare’s and the gamer group fractures, Father Tom finds himself trying to keep his parish together and repair Nate’s relationship with Gladys. He soon discovers that Nate is keeping a huge secret from the woman he loves--a secret that led him to hire Ashley in the first place. Then, Gladys finds evidence that points away from Nate--and to someone who couldn’t possibly be responsible. Because, after all, Richard Davenport is safely behind bars . . . The Father Tom Mysteries, Books 7-9 is the third book in The Father Tom Mysteries Boxset series, a contemporary small town mystery series. It features Father Tom Greer, a Catholic Priest who is also an amateur sleuth in the tradition of Father Brown. If you enjoy the works of Rhys Dylan, Andrew Mayne, and Mary Stone, you will enjoy this novel.

Download or read book Clinical Aphasiology written by Martin Ball and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 2007-06-11 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a collection of cutting edge work from leading researchers and clinicians around the world on a range of topics within Clinical Aphasiology. However, more than this, the volume is also a tribute to Chris Code, one of the foremost scholars in the field. Professor Code has made a galvanizing impact on the field: as a savant, a motivator and an impresario of trends which have resulted in several significant developments in the field. In the first chapter of this book the editors outline the considerable contributions Chris Code has made to the area. The remaining contents have been divided into three main approaches to the study of aphasia, reflecting Professor Code’s own interests. First are the contributions that fall under the heading of Conceptual Considerations. These are mainly interdisciplinary in nature, spanning linguistics, phonetics, psychology and neurology, as well as social aspects of communication disorders. The second section of the book deals with Research Considerations, with chapters ranging from how the study of disrupted communication can inform models of normal language processing, through tone production and processing in speakers with aphasia, to anomia and progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy. Each of these chapters explores different aspects of research methodology, including quantitative and qualitative research. The final section of the collection deals with Clinical Considerations; the chapters here cover counselling, computerized training, cultural and linguistic diversity in aphasia, right hemisphere disorders, and communication problems in the dementias. Clinical Aphasiology will be an invaluable tool for both students and practitioners in speech and language pathology, psychology, neurology, and related fields.

Download or read book Dear Digby written by Carol Muske-Dukes and published by Open Road Media. This book was released on 2014-06-10 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An oddball newspaper editor advises eccentric readers—and reckons with her own painful past in this psychological thriller Willis Digby is the letters editor at Sis (Sisterhood) magazine, a job that drives her mad. A Miss Lonelyhearts for feminists, Willis plows through correspondence that fluctuates from the predictable, boosterish boilerplate to letters challenging conventional notions of sanity, struggling to find a balance in her selections for publication in the landmark journal. Memorable letters include those from a woman who sprinkles cat food into her husband’s breakfast cereal each morning, one from a woman convinced that the man on the label of her cleaning products is harassing her, and endless gender-specific descriptions of peculiar sexual proclivities. As Digby strikes up an unconventional friendship with one of her correspondents, she also confronts a harrowing childhood incident that has come back to haunt her. At once witty and powerful, Dear Digby is a thrilling tragicomedy that explores the shifting borders of the self, or selves, that define individual sanity and conventional thought, and redefine communication among lost souls.
