The treatment strategy in hypnotherapy is to combine hypnosis techniques, like trancing, with other psychological processes to get effective results. Hypnosis is backed up by an ancient history of healing, and despite its lack of scientific validation, it has proved successful in treating emotional trauma, physical ailments, psychological addictions and even mental depressions. Hypnosis gains access to a person'¬"s unconscious mind. That'¬"s why it has a high success rate of treating people. A person can heal himself or change his life for the better just by using hypnosis techniques. Hypnotism can help in many different ways, to lose weight, to stop smoking or drinking, to stop biting nails, to overcome a fear or phobia, to enhance positive thinking and manifestation or to relax and get stress relief. It is certainly a powerful process for healing. Using the information in this book, you can learn more how hypnosis can help you become well and live your life better.

Book The secrets of hypnosis

Download or read book The secrets of hypnosis written by Alex Master and published by Playmagic Publisher. This book was released on 2019-03-26 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you suffer from a chronic pain disorder? Do you have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or another condition that leaves you in constant pain? Are you one of the millions of people that have tried everything to lose weight but haven’t been able to lose weight and keep it off? Is one of your New Year’s Resolutions to finally quit smoking? There is one treatment that can help with all of these conditions and more. Hypnosis. The medical community used to laugh off hypnosis as a parlor trick that magicians did to amuse children at birthday parties or entertain people in night clubs by making other people say stupid things or act in funny ways. And Hypnosis can do that, but it can also significantly improve your healthy. Even though Hypnosis is not a very common medical treatment in the West it’s been used in various forms of Eastern and primitive medicine for centuries. As the West rediscovers many ancient healing practices like homeopathy and herbal medicine Western medical doctors and alternative therapy practitioners are rediscovering the benefits of using hypnosis to treat patients that don’t respond well, or don’t respond at all, to traditional Western medicine. Studies have found that hypnosis can have a positive impact on many different medical conditions including those associated with chronic pain and fatigue. Psychologists have used hypnosis for a long time as part of psychological evaluation and treatment of patients. Some psychologists think that hypnosis is a form of dissociation, but that is a topic of great debate within the psychological community. Anecdotal evidence proves that hypnosis can be a great help when treating the psychological aspect of physical problems like addictions or dealing with the emotional and psychological aspects of diseases like Fibromyalgia. Because disorders like additions or Fibromyalgia have both psychological and physical components patients that suffer from these disorders must treat both the physical and psychology causes for the disorder. Hypnosis is usually a safe and effective way to treat both parts of the problem at the same time. Even though the medical and psychological communities are split on the effectiveness of hypnosis as a medical treatment there are millions of people that it has helped who will tell you that it works. Book Addiction and the Vulnerable Self

Download or read book Addiction and the Vulnerable Self written by Edward J. Khantzian and published by Scholastic. This book was released on 1990-08-03 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Harvard Cocaine Recovery Project, a National Institute on Drug Abuse-funded randomized clinical trial, was initiated in 1986 to compare different approaches for treating cocaine abusers. Modified Dynamic Group Therapy (MDGT), one of the models used in the study, is a short-term supportive-expressive psychodynamic group approach specifically adapted for cocaine addicts. While many previous studies of substance abuse treatment were compromised by extraordinarily high dropout rates, this approach retained nearly 70% of group members for the entire length of treatment. This book describes MDGT and provides a practical guide to implementation. Based on an understanding of the psychological vulnerabilities of addicts, the MDGT model addresses the modifications in psychodynamic technique that are necessary for addicts' needs. It focuses on four main areas of difficulty involving self-regulation; affect, self-esteem, relationship, and self-care problems. Both supportive and expressive, the approach helps group members identify, process, and modify the characterological traits that mask addict's vulnerabilities. With this approach, a well-led group can heighten self-esteem, improve self-care, combat feelings of isolation and shame, and strengthen the individual's capacity for positive change. Concomitant involvement with an individual therapist/counselor is encouraged as a means to support and facilitate the group therapy, especially early in group treatment, and to maintain a flexible individual and group treatment context for self-exploration and understanding. Bringing the model to life are detailed vignettes and transcripts of groups in different phases of recovery. These cases demonstrate techniques, illustrate technical issues, and illuminate major themes that unfold during treatment.
