Book Nitration of Hydrocarbons and Other Organic Compounds

Download or read book Nitration of Hydrocarbons and Other Organic Compounds written by A. V. Topchiev and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nitration of Hydrocarbons and Other Organic Compounds tackles various concerns in the process of substituting hydrogen atoms in the aromatic or heterocyclic nucleus, or in saturated hydrocarbon, by nitro groups. The title first covers the nitration of aromatic and heterocyclic compounds with nitric acid and nitrating mixture, and then proceeds to discussing the mechanism of the nitration of aromatic compounds with nitric acid and nitrating mixture. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is written for B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. students of various universities. In this book my aim has been describe the fundamental principles of organic chemistry. Since I do not consider the chemistry of natural products to be fundamental chemistry but rather the application of fundamental principles. The subject matter described in this book covers much of the basic organic chemistry that is needed by a student who wish to study chemistry as a main subject at degree level. The arrangement of the subjectmatter is based on homologous series and in general, descriptions of reactions are followed by discussion of their mechanisms and these includes an elementary account of the sort of evidence that led workers to suggest mechanisms that are acceptable at the present time. Contents: Alkanes, Alkenes and Alkynes, Halogen Derivatives of the Alkanes.

Law of hydrocarbon(Gyan’s rules) 2. CNST (Compound Naming shortcut Theory ) 3. GHS According to the law of hydrocarbon, all groups under saturated hydrocarbon and unsaturated hydrocarbon will have a formula .According to CNST (Compound Naming shortcut Theory) writing the names of larger compound into smaller ones. You used ane, ene, yne, to represent single bond double bond , triple bond ,but now how to B1 , B2 ,B3 In place of ane , ene , yne . which is described in this book that . I hope all readers will read this book once , then it will prove very useful for you.

Book Quantitative Determination of Hydrocarbon Group Types Via High Performance Liquid Chromatography with Dielectric Constant Detection

Download or read book Quantitative Determination of Hydrocarbon Group Types Via High Performance Liquid Chromatography with Dielectric Constant Detection written by P. C. Hayes (Jr.) and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A dielectric constant (DC) detector for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is the basis of an accurate and versatile hydrocarbon group-type analysis of petroleum-and shale-derived distillate fuels. The method can saturates (+ olefins), alkyl benzenes, and polycyclic aromatics in hydrocarbon liquids below 600 C. The HPLC separation is achieved with three columns in series, i.e., two (2) five micrometer Partisil PAC columns preceding a ten micrometer TENF column, and using n-butyl chloride as the mobile phase. A simple three-component standard mixture is all that is required to calibrate the method. The DC detector ensures a genuine uniformity of response (less than 2.5% RSD) for each hydrocarbon group-type independent of the carbon-number distribution of the sample. Based on simple and complex hydrocarbon standard solutions, the accuracy for each structural group-type is within 2% absolute with a chromatographic limit of detection of approximately 150 ng for a late eluting solute (biphenyl).

Book excerpt: A novel proposal for teaching organic chemistry based on a broader and simplified use of quantum chemistry theories and notions of some statistical thermodynamic concepts aiming to enrich the learning process of the organic molecular properties and organic reactions. A detailed physical chemistry approach to teach organic chemistry for undergraduate students is the main aim of this book. A secondary objective is to familiarize undergraduate students with computational chemistry since most of illustrations of optimized geometries (plus some topological graphs) and information is from quantum chemistry outputs which will also enable students to obtain a deeper understanding of organic chemistry.

Book The Structure Dependent Energy of Organic Compounds

Download or read book The Structure Dependent Energy of Organic Compounds written by Árpád Furka and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-04-05 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This brief introduces readers to an alternative thermochemical reference system that makes it possible to use the heats of formation of organic compounds to deduce the energies that depend entirely on their structures, and which provides calculated values for most of the characteristic structures appearing in organic molecules. These structure-dependent energies are provided e.g. for selected compounds of normal and cyclic alkanes, open chain and cyclic olefins (including conjugated polyenes), alkynes, aromatic hydrocarbons and their substituted derivatives. The oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen derivatives of the above-mentioned compounds are also represented with calculated structure-dependent energies including alcohols, ethers, aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acids, thiols, sulfides, amines, amides, heterocyclic compounds and others. Most organic reactions can be interpreted as the disappearance of certain structures and formation of others. If the structure-dependent energies are known, it can be shown how the disappearing and the newly formed structures contribute to the heat of reactions and to the driving forces. As experienced by the author, who pioneered the concept, structure dependent energies can help teachers to make organic chemistry more accessible for their students. Accordingly, the brief offers a valuable resource for all those who teach organic chemistry at universities, and for those who are learning it.
