If you have many negative reactions to your senses and they are stored in your mind, when they resurface, your outlook on life will be more emotional. Living your life through your emotions will cause an emotional overload that will shut down your senses, which in turn will shut down your mind. Shirley suffered with depression and anxiety for seven years and the solutions she describes in her book are, what she claims, God showed her. He couldn’t run away from his moral duty and responsibility. And if he would want to run away from his moral duty and responsibility (i.e. Dharma), then he would commit a sin (i.e. Adharma).
