Book How to Quickly Fix Your Couple Relationship A Brief DIY Handbook for Serious Lovers

Download or read book How to Quickly Fix Your Couple Relationship A Brief DIY Handbook for Serious Lovers written by Jim Byrne and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019-02-15 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book has been specially designed to provide some quick relief up front. That means that, right at the start of the book, I share with you some of the most powerful insights into how to have a happy relationships. I then help you to complete a couple of exercises that take five minutes per day, and which will begin to change your relationship situation almost at once.In Part 1, you will find a self-study program which helps you, slowly, and in managed steps, to review a range of insights that will transform your ability to relate to your partner much more successfully.Every day, you will be asked to read just three of those insights. That means, three fairly brief descriptions of ways to be a happier couple. This should not take more than five or six minutes of your day. You are advised to then discuss those three insights with your partner. This might take a further ten minutes.Day by day, this DIY course - which you share with your partner - builds up, slowly but surely, into a seven week program which is designed to deliver a happy relationship for you and your partner, if you both work at it. Your time commitment to this program is likely to be less than half an hour each day. Is your relationship life worth an investment of less than thirty minutes per day?All you have to do to succeed is to follow the seven week program systematically! Diligently! At the end of seven weeks, you switch to Part 2. Part 2 teaches you how to change your relationship habits, which were probably mainly copied - and turned into habits - from watching your parents' marriage when you were too young to be emotionally intelligent enough to know what you were copying - (starting when you were below the age of five years, and up to about the age of ten years). This part of the program involves thinking back to your early childhood; how your parents treated you; how they related to each other; and how you felt about all of that. Out of this will come a quick and easy process for changing your 'relationship role model' and your 'relationship mate model'. The effect is that you will begin to behave in more constructive and loving ways with your partner, which will normally elicit new, more positive, more loving behaviours from your partner. Then, in Part 3, I present the conclusions of an extensive study that I published elsewhere; which is, essentially, a set of 17 guidelines for you to follow on how to be a more effective love-and-relationships partner. There is some (minimal) overlap between this part and Part 1.With this part, I ask you to review those 17 guidelines three times, to get them into long-term memory. (Anything that you read just once is likely to be forgotten within a day or two!)Finally, in Part 4, I teach you the most important things to know about your own personality, and your partner's personality, so that you can relate to each other from more rational, reasonable, adult parts of yourselves. I do this by teaching you the most important elements of Transactional Analysis (TA), which is a way to understand and change your own and your partner's way of communicating in your relationship - from unhelpful habits to effective ways of avoiding communications breakdowns.Additionally, I have added Appendix A, at the back of this book, for those readers who are too emotionally upset about their relationship problems to be able to work on Part 1. Appendix A is a form of my Six Windows Model, especially written for couples. This is a simple process that helps you to review the problem that is upsetting you, in six different ways, so that you can feel better about having that problem in your life. (Then the main body of the book will help you to get the problem out of your life, by preserving and improving your relationship; or ending it!)What you will get is a very happy relationship, with the person you love!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you're about to walk down the aisle, you want every day to be as happy as your special day. However while there is lots of advice on planning a wedding, there's precious little to prepare you for the rest of your life together. If you're lucky your mother will offer a few tips and your father will makes some jokes but otherwise you're on your own. Perhaps it's some years since you promised to love and cherish each other and the pressures of everyday life have taken the shine off things. Throw in the sort of crises that everyone faces at some point—like financial problems, losing a parent, family rows and infidelity—and it's easy for the love between the two of you to be seriously damaged. So what are the secrets of happy couples that stay strong rather than grow apart? In this groundbreaking book, marital therapist Andrew G. Marshall, explains that it's not chemistry that keeps partners connected but skills. It's likely that you didn't learn these skills as a child because your parents didn't know them or couldn't explain them. Maybe they avoided conflict, fought like cat or dog or split up when you were young so never showed you to fall out safely, make-up and resolve differences. Fortunately, it's never too late to learn how to communicate better and repair your relationship—even if you're on the verge of splitting up. Marshall draws on thirty plus years working with over three thousand clients to give you his tried and test tool kit for a happy marriage. It includes: -The rules for constructive arguments. - How to be a better listener. - Use carrots rather than sticks. - How to forgive and move on.

Book excerpt: Are you:-- seeking to renew a relationship? -- considering a new relationship? -- troubled with establishing a long-term relationship? -- divorced and trying to understand why your marriage failed? -- experiencing problems in love, romance, sex, intimacy or marriage? -- a therapist or counselor who would like to provide an accessible resource for your clients? -- Millions of books on relationships have been printed over the years. Why do we need another? We need The Art of Love: The Craft of Relationship for the same reasons that over four and a half million readers wanted Spencer Johnson's Who Moved My Cheese. Following Johnson's methods of teaching to a broad, modern audience, The Art of Love: The Craft of Relationship presents the profound principles that form a loving relationship in an easily accessible manner. Using a very simple approach, it will help people shift their attitudes and provide them with the skills to create loving, long-lasting partnerships. There are so many titles in print on change because it is an ongoing challenge for most of us. So are relationships. With more than six decades of experience working with couples, we knew we had vital information, lessons, and insights to share, but we insisted that the book be short, engaging, and easy to read. A helpful book does not have to be dense to be packed with wisdom, skills, and ideas that can open the door to a new era of fulfilling relationships. We have brought complex material and common sense into a format that is carefully constructed to achieve results by being communicative and consistent, enjoyable and hopeful. Unlike the textbook appearance of most self-help books that include psychological jargon, case examples and exercises, The Art of Love: The Craft of Relationship uses stories and dialogue to teach profound insights and valuable skills. It sticks to people talking in a way the reader can identify with and understand. It brings hope because the reader who is experiencing stress in a relationship can see that other people, like them, are, too. And, that learning a few basic skills can bring lasting change and renew love. The best news is that our book will be useful to many people because it will give them a new way to look at their relationship and the skills to handle problem after problem in a way that builds love and trust. Our mission is to appeal strongly to those who are considering a relationship, seeking to renew one, or are looking for a way to understand a partner and a process for dealing with problems in love, romance, sex, intimacy and living together.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you find yourself in relationships full of problems and anger? Are you tired of your relationships falling apart due to poor communication? Maybe your current relationship feels emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausting, and you have no idea how to make it easier? The overwhelming feelings of frustration and pent up negative emotions toward your partner is uncomfortable. You may be asking yourself; I use to think my partner was perfect, am I falling out of Love with them? Everyone is going to ask themselves these exact questions at one point in their relationship, and it's 100%, not your fault for feeling this way. It can be scary and upsetting to think about. What people don't know is that Love changes over time in relationships. First, we have an exciting infatuation phase where your partner has no flaws, usually called the butterflies stage. Then after a few months to a few years, the infatuation stage disappears and turns into a different kind of Love. In 2001, Schwartz's study by the Harvard Psychiatry, "A theory of lasting relationships," describes a different kind of Love as a softer feeling - a warmth that fills you up and is even more satisfying comfort and constant feeling. Real lasting Love committed to their partner despite the obstacles they encounter along the way. Unfortunately, the majority of relationships don't even make it past the infatuation stage due to poor communications and disappointing high standards for the other partner. In this book, you will be given a map to effective communication in your relationships. You will be shown that Love is more than just a feeling, but a committed choice to stay with someone and face all the obstacles in the world. In this knowledgeable guide, you'll discover: Why this one crucial mistake could hurt your chances with ever-lasting Love and how to avoid it How to use these 3 easy to understand principles to better your relationships and create passionate intimacy Why working on you is more important than fixing your partner - and how to better yourself How this little known fact is good for Love and how you can use it to your advantage The absolute 4 worst things that you could be doing right now that could escalate a fight - and maybe destroy your relationship How this one process, if not noticed, can make you ignore your partners love without realizing - and how it can kill your relationship What it takes for healthy couples to strengthen their Love and communication - and what struggling couples don't have How you can better your connection with your partner using this one golden rule ... and much, much more!
