Book How to Get Onto the Property Ladder

Download or read book How to Get Onto the Property Ladder written by Ned Browne and published by . This book was released on 2019-10-25 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Things have never been tougher for first-time buyers. The number of people aged 25-34 who own their own home has more than halved since 1996. But aspirations are still high - the vast majority of young people still want to own their own home. Unfortunately, most would-be first-time buyers believe the dream of homeownership is just that: a dream. This book has been written to make this dream a reality. It also aims to steer you clear of the potential pitfalls that come with buying a property - it's a minefield out there. There are countless tales of properties being repossessed, people being stuck in homes they cannot sell, and of homeowners enduring years of negative equity. This book aims to help you avoid making mistakes that can cost you dear. The book includes the following chapters: Part 1 - Financing your first property purchase. Part 2 - Government help for first-time buyers. Part 3 - Finding the right property for you. Part 4 - From offer to completion. Part 5 - Moving into your first property. Appendix - Property: jargon buster. The property market is fast moving - things are changing every week. As such, I have included my email address at the end of the book and encourage readers to ask questions, make suggestions and point out any inaccuracies. Hopefully there won't be too many of the latter! Please note: I have mainly focused on buying a property in England, although I have included information about buying in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland (just not in as much detail). However, 90% of the content will be relevant to anyone buying anywhere in the United Kingdom. Enjoy and good luck. Ned Browne

Book excerpt: This Book is on How To Finally Get The Ideal Blueprint That Allows You To Have A Foot On The Property Ladder, Even If You have No Prior Knowledge About Property Investment And Without Spending £ Thousands On Educational Courses/Seminars. John got admission to one of the universities in Glasgow. He moved from Manchester to study in Glasgow. He had a scholarship for 4 years for his studies. We sat with his mother who had become a widow and raised her children on her own for the past decade. We discussed ways how john, with the help of his mother, could own his first property in Glasgow and pay it with the money he was receiving from his scholarship. We showed that mother how she could help her son and at the age of 18 years old John was already a house owner in Glasgow as a student and he was renting out the extra bedroom of his two bedroom house to another student friend. Since then John had graduated and found a job in another town in Scotland but he is renting out that house in Glasgow and is building up his portfolio. With the guided help anyone can be a house owner and build up their portfolio even from the age of 18 years old. You are never too young to have your foot on the property ladder and scale up your property investment. Paul was a trader in London but had a change of career and decided to create his non-profit organisation and do charity work. He established his charity in Scotland. He was not getting enough money from the charitable work he was doing to be able to gather the 25% deposit for the mortgage. After an afternoon with Paul in his living room we were able to point him in the right direction in order to secure 40% deposit from the government toward the purchase of his house. He only had to find the remaining 60% from one of the mortgage lenders. He moved into his newly built house in February 2019. He was in his mid-forties with not enough savings for a deposit for a mortgage. But the simple knowledge he received about property he was directed where he could get the appropriate help that was crucial to him achieving the dream of being a homeowner and no longer a tenant. Many people desire to own their own house but simply do not know where to turn to to get the initial money for the deposit or what strategy to use to circumvent paying the 25% deposit on the house to secure a mortgage. The knowledge was what made the difference in Paul's life for him to move from being a tenant to becoming a house owner. Miriam was a single successful businesswoman in her early thirties. She had some savings and was frustrated with the interest rate she was getting from the bank. She had bought some shares on the stock market but they were not doing well. She was looking for another vehicle that could make her money work for her without taking much of her time for she was busy with building her business. She had lost money on the stock market, therefore, she was looking for a safe, recession proof and inflation proof kind of investment. As a businesswoman, she knows that her money is losing buying power every year while it sits in her saving account; because the annual inflation is greater than the interest the bank gives her on her savings. When we sat with her we were able to demonstrate to her in the simplest way, that even a child can understand, how she had been right about her money shrinking in her saving account but better than that we have been able to demonstrate to her that investing in property WITH THE PROPER GUIDANCE is the best investment in the world: it is safe, recession proof and inflation proof. Today she is has put her money in properties she is getting a far better return on her investment than having her money sit on her saving account or buying some treasury bills, etc. She is leaving a lasting inheritance for her descendants. This book takes you from A to Z & explains all you need to know and do in order for you to have your foot on the property ladder & Climb up

He married, had a child and started making his way up the corporate ladder. But after coming out and leaving his wife, Greg’s life veered into the fast lane. Book Policing the 2012 London Olympics

Download or read book Policing the 2012 London Olympics written by Gary Armstrong and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-06-17 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The summer Olympic Games are renowned for producing the world’s biggest single-city cultural event. While the Olympics and other sport mega-events have received growing levels of academic investigation from a variety of disciplinary approaches, relatively little is known about how such occasions are experienced directly by local host communities and publics. This ethnography examines the everyday policing of the London Borough of Newham in relation to the London 2012 Olympics. It explains how police defined, monitored, prioritized, contained and investigated ‘Olympic-related’ crime, and how ‘Olympic-related’ policing connected to the policing of Newham. The authors examine how the threat of terrorism impacted on the everyday policing of the 2012 Olympics, as well as the exaggeration of other threats to the Games – such as youth gangs – for political reasons. The book also explores local resistance to Olympic policing, and the legacy of the Games with regard to policing, local housing, demographics and social exclusion. Discussing the lessons that can be learned for the future staging of sporting mega-events, this book will appeal to scholars and students with interests in sport, policing, crime and criminology, mega-events, event management, urban studies, global studies and sociology.

Download or read book Framing Austerity written by Aileen Marron and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2021-05-25 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph examines the ways in which discourses on the public sector were articulated in the print media during the 2011 financial crisis in the Irish, UK and European news media. It finds that coverage of the public sector was ideological, portraying public sector workers as overpaid, inefficient, and sheltered from the worst of the crisis. These explanations perpetuated the view that there was a need for austerity through cutbacks to public services and public sector pay. The central thesis is that these representations must be understood as being part of the complex organisational culture of the newsroom. Additional themes explored in the book include but are not limited to: Media ownership concentration and journalistic self-censorship. The marketisation of news and its impact on journalistic practice. The casualisation of the newsroom. The fourth estate function of the media. The discourse of austerity. Neoliberalism as a dominant ideology. Reflexivity in the newsroom. The crisis of credibility in journalism. Media portrayals of The “Looney” Left versus the “Reasonable” Right.

Book Housing Care and Inheritance

Download or read book Housing Care and Inheritance written by Misa Izuhara and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2008-09-30 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Housing, Care and Inheritance draws on the author’s long-standing research into housing issues surrounding the ageing society, a phenomenon which is now a concern in many mature economies. If an adult child provides care for their elderly parent, should that person be rewarded? If so, should they inherit their parent’s house or a larger share of the assets? The ‘generational contract’ is often influenced by cultural norms, family traditions, social policy and housing market, so it is negotiated differently in different societies and at different times. Such generational contract is however breaking down as a result of socio-economic and demographic changes. Drawn from the two-part study funded by the UK Economic & Social Research Council, Misa Izuhara explores the myth and the changing patterns of the particular exchange of long-term care and housing assets between older parents and their adult children in Britain and Japan. Highly international and comparative in perspectives, this study addresses important sociological as well as policy questions regarding intergenerational relations involving housing wealth, long-term care, and inheritance.
