Book excerpt: The path of true love never did run smooth...did it? Kelsey Anderson is stuck in a rut so big, she’ll need a 4-wheel drive to get out. She’s just been made redundant from her dead-end job, and boyfriend Fran is so busy climbing up the career ladder that he’s forgotten how to have fun. She needs to change her life – and fast. Stumbling across an advert for tour guides in Stratford-Upon-Avon seems like the perfect way to bring the sunshine back. In an impulsive move, she moves from her small Scottish village to Shakespeare’s birthplace, armed only with a suitcase and her battered copy of Shakespeare’s Sonnets. Kelsey quickly falls in love with the place, her job as a tourist guide allowing her to explore every inch of the picture-perfect town, from cosy cafes to the picturesque banks of the river. But it’s not just the town that captures her heart, as she finds herself torn between the actors Will and Jonathan who both vie for her affections. But will beautiful Peony, the lead actress at the Oklahoma theatre company where Jonathan is playing Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, play a role in keeping Kelsey and Jonathan apart? Or will flirtatious, charming Will, the fellow tour guide who has set his sights on Kelsey, keep the star-crossed lovers from finding their happy ending? A gorgeously uplifting, feel good romance that will captivate readers of Holly Martin, Cathy Bramley and Milly Johnson. Readers are loving One Summer’s Night: 'I absolutely loved this debut novel from Kiley Dunbar...I haven't enjoyed a book in this genre as much as this for a long time...I defy anyone not to be rooting for Kelsey and booking a mini-break to Stratford when they finish this book! Download or read book One Summer Night written by David Sinclair Turner and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-12-20 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One Summer Night is the title for my story about how two people met and fell in love. However, as it sometimes does, life can throw you a curve ball that you don't expect and are not prepared to deal with. This story is about how these two people went about dealing with the unexpected things that happened as they attempted to find each other no matter how long it took or where it took them to. I guess what I wanted to tell the reader is that no matter what happens in our lives, God will always have a hand in helping us as long as we never lose our faith in him. The best way I can describe it is by a picture I have of Christ reaching down into the water where I am struggling to survive and not drown as I reach up and look into his smiling eyes. Then I take his hand in mine, and he pulls me up into his arms. The only way to best describe that is with the term "divine intervention."

Download or read book Instructions for Visitors written by Helen Stevenson and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2018-02-27 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When living abroad, there are two rules to be followed: 1—If you are lucky enough to find a place you belong, you should never actually live there. And 2—Never live with a man you think you could never live without. But then, what fun would that be? In this funny, forthright, and charming memoir, Helen Stevenson chronicles her experiences as a young British expatriate living in the countryside of France. With emotional depth and lyrical sensitivity, Stevenson introduces readers to the myriad residents of the quaint hamlet known only as "le village." There's Stefan, the Maoist tennis buff, who has his own unique way of showing empathy for the masses; Gigi, the chic Parisian who uses her boutique to dress her ex-lovers' girlfriends; and Luc, the cowboy painter and part-time dentist, who, overcoming his aversion to blondes, becomes enamored of the Englishwoman who has been warmly embraced by the rural community. But her troubled love affair with this local lothario comes to represent the poignant truth: she is still, somehow, an outsider. Luc reminds her: "Le village, c'est moi," and she can never say the same. Evoking the languid, sensual essence of Mediterranean France, Instructions for Visitors is a very personal revelation of the wonders and the difficulties of relocating one's home—and one's heart.
