Book Hold Your Head up No More Tears

Download or read book Hold Your Head up No More Tears written by Ollie Johnson and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2022-08-01 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ollie Johnson wrote this book hoping she could help someone who have lost a child. Tyrone was a special child. His mind was far beyond his eight years. Ollie didn't know so many people had heard about this little brave boy. People would come to the door and just pass gifts for him. He was so special. All the times he was in the hospital, he wouldn't let the nurses do anything. He would say my mother and my sister will bathe me. He passed at home, when they could not help him anymore. Ollie said she will take him home and take care of him. The doctor always explained to him what was happening to him. Tyrone seemed to understand what they were talking about. He loved church. He wanted to be baptize, so they let him. Tyrone told Ollie he wouldn't be with her when he becomes an adult. His dad was so fond of him. He was born ten and a half years after Ollie's last child was born. During Tyrone's last days, they had a nurse coming in. He told her, "You can change my bed and dress me." This was Sunday. His doctor on Friday had called and told them to go and make plans for his funeral and that she would be there on Monday. Tyrone died on Sunday with lots of people and family there. In Psalm 127:3aEUR"5, it is said children are too often seen as liabilities rather than assets, but the bible called children "an heritage of the Lord," a reward. We can learn valuable lesson from their inquisitive minds and trusting spirit. The person Ollie is today is because of the time God loan Tyrone to her. As he was passing, he looked at her and said, "Hold your head up, no more tears." He closed his eyes, and he was gone.

Book excerpt: A riches to rags cowboy. A hardened cowgirl. The gunshot that erases all doubt. Laura Warner knows nothing but horses. Her entire life has been lived on a ranch. It’s her love, her dream, and aside from the love of her life, Quentin, it’s the only thing that she ever thinks about. But when tragedy strikes at Kelsey Ranch, Laura is left to care for the horses and the land with the help of her siblings. Years later, Laura feels content with life, but when a gunshot blasts only days after she has to make a difficult decision, Laura learns that everything happens for a reason…and it doesn’t always lead to more hardship…sometimes it leads to happiness. But can she convince herself that this is possible? Grayson Thomas is an out of work lowlife, who just happens to have world class siblings that drag him out of his rut days after he loses everything, or gives everything up, depending on one’s perspective. When he makes the decision to flee from El Paso and move to Huttonville, just outside of Dallas, his brothers give him their thumbs up. Grayson has no idea that he’s about to step into the world that he does, and when a gunshot blasts on his second day in Huttonville, he’s left wondering if he should make tire tracks back to El Paso, or stay in Huttonville. When Laura’s face becomes a staple in Grayson’s life, what was once a demon craving becomes a distant memory. What he once worked hard for and lost soon becomes something that he may have again. Things that once brought him to the edges of demise, become obliterated and exist only in random nightmares. Grayson’s tough exterior is softened through Laura’s honest and thoughtful words, and Laura sees life in a new light, and learns to laugh and have fun again with someone that isn’t family. But is this enough? Can two people who have been through so much, lost everything and worked hard to gain it back, learn to trust enough to let their guard down and see life and love for what it is? Short answer, yes. They both do. But just when they do, someone who has been watching from afar swoops in and threatens to take everything. Can they survive yet another tragedy…and more important, will they have to? This is a book about survival and love. In that order. This series is the start of a huge helping of feels. You feel like you get to know each person a little bit by reading the chapter as though that character is telling their own story. Highly recommended!" - Five Stars from cdstokes, Amazon Reviewer "If I could give this book 10 stars I would do so. What a wonderful story!" - 5 Stars from Sheryl Hamilton, Goodreads Reviewer "A great start to a new series. The characters are realistic and easy to like. Book The Tracks of His Tears

Download or read book The Tracks of His Tears written by Lucy Dennis and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-10-14 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The news hit her in the face like an old frying pan. She did not know what to do when her cousin gave the particulars surrounding her brothers death. A brother she never set eyes on. A brother her father deliberately did not tell her about. After days and days of reading upon his trial, she grew angry about the truth, he was hanged for a crime he did not commit! Her great annoyance heightened when evidence of his innocence fell into her lap with one telephone call. An email she received was more proof that Herman Perry Dennis Jr. was framed for the murder of Ruth Farnsworth. She remembered her father and his struggle with alcoholism. She also remembered his intelligence and how people marveled at it, yet she never understood why it was impossible for him to go a day without drinking. After she listened to her cousin describe his ghastly nightmare, she finally understood. Herman P. Dennis Jr. was an upright young man, who appreciated his Blackness and was proud of it. He was very intelligent and joining the Air Force in the 1940s was proof of it. In his walk during his enlistment, he tackled with racism. He spoke and wrote about it. The beautiful young lady was killed, but not by the hands of Herman P. Dennis Jr.. Black men, by definition of Whites in those days, desired White women so much, until they would go to any length to have one, so with rape came a lynching. It did not matter if the person was guilty, someone had to pay. The town of Rosewood Florida came to mind when she began writing about her brother.

Add to the mix that she is a lesbian, feminist, army brat, and single mom, and what you get is an earnestly radical Christian on a mission. Her response to an insistent call to prophetic ministry is acutely human and terminally messy. Prone to veer off course, she wrestles angels who repeatedly return her to her trajectory. The prophetic ministry to which she is called ends up taking place in hundreds of small daily acts rather than the great act that she had hoped for.
