The overall notification rate of hepatitis C notification has also remained stable, it has increased by 43% in the past five years for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Information is also included for the selected populations of men who have sex with men, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, injecting drug users, and heterosexuals infected with HIV. A key finding was that following the introduction of vaccination against human papilloma virus, the proportion of young women aged 21 years or younger who were diagnosed with genital warts at their first visit to a sexual health centre decreased from 14% in 2007 to 1% in 2013. However, notifications of syphilis are at an all-time high in Australia, and rates of gonorrhoea have also increased.
