Book En torno a la universidad espa ola

Download or read book En torno a la universidad espa ola written by Bernardo García Olmedo and published by Vision Libros. This book was released on 2020-02-24 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book A HISTORY OF SPANISH INSTITUTIONS

Download or read book A HISTORY OF SPANISH INSTITUTIONS written by Thomas Baumert and published by ESIC Editorial. This book was released on 2024-09-10 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In A History of Spanish Institutions the evolution of Spanish institutions from the first human settlements on the Peninsula to the present day is offered in a succinct and appropriately contextualised manner. To this end, each chapter combines a description of the historical context of a period with the description of its most characteristic institutions. These are complemented by an explanation of the main “symbols” of Spain and their history. The importance of institutions and their historical evolution as a determining factor in economic and socio-political development has been proved by numerous studies. Hence, the knowledge of the main national institutions from a historical, legal and economic perspective is essential for those who wish to operate in the Spanish market. The modular structure of the handbook, together with the differentiated presentation of the content according to its level of relevance, will allow the readers to adapt and combine the texts that make up this book according to their specific needs and interests, thus optimising the outcome of their study. This revised and expanded second edition has added a selection of empirical works to the introductory chapter, reflects the latest historiographical developments, updates the bibliography, includes new examples of symbols, and expands on the main historical milestones and their institutional impact up to the time of going to press. Book A History of the Spanish Lexicon

Download or read book A History of the Spanish Lexicon written by Steven N. Dworkin and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2012-06-07 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This history of the Spanish lexicon is written from the interacting perspectives of linguistic and cultural change and in the light of advances in the study of language contact and lexical change. The author describes the language inherited from spoken Latin in the Iberian Peninsula during six centuries of Roman occupation and examines the degree to which it imported words from the languages - of which only Basque survives - of pre-Roman Spain. He then shows how Germanic words were imported either indirectly through Latin or Old French or directly by contact with the Visigoths. He describes the importation of Arabisms following the eighth-century Arab conquest of Spain, distinguishing those documented in medieval sources from those adopted for everyday use, many of which survive in modern Spanish. He considers the influence of Old French and Old Provençal and identifies late direct and indirect borrowings from Latin, including the Italian elements taken up during the Renaissance. After outlining minor influences from languages such as Flemish, Portuguese, and Catalan, Professor Dworkin examines the effects on the lexicon of contact between Spanish and the indigenous languages of South and Central America, and the impact of contact with English. The book is aimed at advanced students and scholars of Spanish linguistics and will interest specialists in Hispanic literary and cultural studies.

This book was released on 2016-12-21 with total page 540 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Introducci n a la historia de la lengua espa ola written by Melvyn C. Resnick and published by Georgetown University Press. This book was released on 2019-09-08 with total page 512 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
