Book High Resolution Noisy Signal and Image Processing

Download or read book High Resolution Noisy Signal and Image Processing written by Edward Valachovic and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2020-12-24 with total page 375 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book introduces valuable new data analysis methods in time and space, and provides many examples and recommendations for new developments. It will teach the reader how to use powerful, but very flexible, tools, frequently referred to as Kolmogorov-Zurbenko Filters. The main construction of these tools is derived from spectral concepts where natural laws occur. Rather than forcing models on data, they allow us to discover the nature of phenomena hidden within the data. The methods outlined here are capable of obtaining accurate results within very noisy environments. Their extremely accurate spectral diagnostics permits the separation of different sources of influences within the data. Treating each source separately can achieve highly accurate explanations of the total picture. For example, this approach is able to identify the most dangerous moments and locations for hurricanes and tornados.

Book Super Resolution of Images and Video

Download or read book Super Resolution of Images and Video written by Aggelos K. Katsaggelos and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-05-31 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on the super resolution of images and video. The authors’ use of the term super resolution (SR) is used to describe the process of obtaining a high resolution (HR) image, or a sequence of HR images, from a set of low resolution (LR) observations. This process has also been referred to in the literature as resolution enhancement (RE). SR has been applied primarily to spatial and temporal RE, but also to hyperspectral image enhancement. This book concentrates on motion based spatial RE, although the authors also describe motion free and hyperspectral image SR problems. Also examined is the very recent research area of SR for compression, which consists of the intentional downsampling, during pre-processing, of a video sequence to be compressed and the application of SR techniques, during post-processing, on the compressed sequence. It is clear that there is a strong interplay between the tools and techniques developed for SR and a number of other inverse problems encountered in signal processing (e.g., image restoration, motion estimation). SR techniques are being applied to a variety of fields, such as obtaining improved still images from video sequences (video printing), high definition television, high performance color Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screens, improvement of the quality of color images taken by one CCD, video surveillance, remote sensing, and medical imaging. The authors believe that the SR/RE area has matured enough to develop a body of knowledge that can now start to provide useful and practical solutions to challenging real problems and that SR techniques can be an integral part of an image and video codec and can drive the development of new coder-decoders (codecs) and standards.

Book Image Super Resolution and Applications

Download or read book Image Super Resolution and Applications written by Fathi E. Abd El-Samie and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2012-12-15 with total page 505 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to the issue of image super-resolution—obtaining high-resolution images from single or multiple low-resolution images. Although there are numerous algorithms available for image interpolation and super-resolution, there’s been a need for a book that establishes a common thread between the two processes. Filling this need, Image Super-Resolution and Applications presents image interpolation as a building block in the super-resolution reconstruction process. Instead of approaching image interpolation as either a polynomial-based problem or an inverse problem, this book breaks the mold and compares and contrasts the two approaches. It presents two directions for image super-resolution: super-resolution with a priori information and blind super-resolution reconstruction of images. It also devotes chapters to the two complementary steps used to obtain high-resolution images: image registration and image fusion. Details techniques for color image interpolation and interpolation for pattern recognition Analyzes image interpolation as an inverse problem Presents image registration methodologies Considers image fusion and its application in image super resolution Includes simulation experiments along with the required MATLAB® code Supplying complete coverage of image-super resolution and its applications, the book illustrates applications for image interpolation and super-resolution in medical and satellite image processing. It uses MATLAB® programs to present various techniques, including polynomial image interpolation and adaptive polynomial image interpolation. MATLAB codes for most of the simulation experiments supplied in the book are included in the appendix.

Book Signal Processing for High Resolution Image Formation

Download or read book Signal Processing for High Resolution Image Formation written by and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 39 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This research program investigated signal processing problems encountered in high- resolution image formation. Reliable imaging of scenes with high resolution and high speed is an important and key part of any defense system. In some imaging systems, the image has to be constructed from linear measurements and convex constraints(such as upper and lower bounds on image sample magnitude, and support limits). studied iterative, finite parameter reconstructions that lead to images that meet constraints, match the data to within a pre-specified tolerance, and come closest to a given nominal. e addressed three different aspects of signal/image reconstruction, namely, (1) Developing fast algorithms for high resolution signal/image reconstruction, (2) Resolutions Analysis of signal reconstruction algorithms, (3) Numerical and computational aspects of signal reconstruction viz: stability and regularization. (MM).

Book Graph Spectral Image Processing

Download or read book Graph Spectral Image Processing written by Gene Cheung and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2021-08-31 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Graph spectral image processing is the study of imaging data from a graph frequency perspective. Modern image sensors capture a wide range of visual data including high spatial resolution/high bit-depth 2D images and videos, hyperspectral images, light field images and 3D point clouds. The field of graph signal processing – extending traditional Fourier analysis tools such as transforms and wavelets to handle data on irregular graph kernels – provides new flexible computational tools to analyze and process these varied types of imaging data. Recent methods combine graph signal processing ideas with deep neural network architectures for enhanced performances, with robustness and smaller memory requirements. The book is divided into two parts. The first is centered on the fundamentals of graph signal processing theories, including graph filtering, graph learning and graph neural networks. The second part details several imaging applications using graph signal processing tools, including image and video compression, 3D image compression, image restoration, point cloud processing, image segmentation and image classification, as well as the use of graph neural networks for image processing.

  • ISBN : 1439869561
  • Pages : 378 pages

Download or read book Image Restoration written by Bahadir Kursat Gunturk and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-09-03 with total page 378 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Image Restoration: Fundamentals and Advances responds to the need to update most existing references on the subject, many of which were published decades ago. Providing a broad overview of image restoration, this book explores breakthroughs in related algorithm development and their role in supporting real-world applications associated with various scientific and engineering fields. These include astronomical imaging, photo editing, and medical imaging, to name just a few. The book examines how such advances can also lead to novel insights into the fundamental properties of image sources. Addressing the many advances in imaging, computing, and communications technologies, this reference strikes just the right balance of coverage between core fundamental principles and the latest developments in this area. Its content was designed based on the idea that the reproducibility of published works on algorithms makes it easier for researchers to build on each other’s work, which often benefits the vitality of the technical community as a whole. For that reason, this book is as experimentally reproducible as possible. Topics covered include: Image denoising and deblurring Different image restoration methods and recent advances such as nonlocality and sparsity Blind restoration under space-varying blur Super-resolution restoration Learning-based methods Multi-spectral and color image restoration New possibilities using hybrid imaging systems Many existing references are scattered throughout the literature, and there is a significant gap between the cutting edge in image restoration and what we can learn from standard image processing textbooks. To fill that need but avoid a rehash of the many fine existing books on this subject, this reference focuses on algorithms rather than theories or applications. Giving readers access to a large amount of downloadable source code, the book illustrates fundamental techniques, key ideas developed over the years, and the state of the art in image restoration. It is a valuable resource for readers at all levels of understanding.
