Book Heal Yourself for God s Sake A Physical Therapist s Instructional Guide to Overcome Injuries Obtaining Healing Health and Wellness as Promised

Download or read book Heal Yourself for God s Sake A Physical Therapist s Instructional Guide to Overcome Injuries Obtaining Healing Health and Wellness as Promised written by Peter Colla and published by Heal Yourself 'for God's Sake. This book was released on 2019-01-28 with total page 546 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if healing is available to everyone around us, given freely and completely without fear or the need to worry whether or not someone might have enough money to pay for it? Why should it cost something at all, was the knowledge not given freely to our fathers and mothers, or theirs before them? What if a thought was directed towards "cause" of problems as a direction of treatment, or a possible cure, rather than primarily directed to the elevation of symptoms, and merely the effects of sicknesses and injuries? If healing, like blessings, is promised to all, rained down on us all like the independent drops that fall on all the children's heads regardless of who they are or how much money or status they possess, shouldn't healing thus be the same, and realizing this, free obtainable for everybody, wouldn't the world be a better place? If we may suppose, sicknesses are merely storms that each of us must endure in order to overcome in our lives, having the potential to progress us from one place to another, a better place, a stronger place, a new place, a clean place, we might actually thank God for these storms, because without the winds that they possess we might not have the ability to get to the other side? A person can find themselves on such a journey sometimes hardly knowing the ship has sailed. Little do we know, that we may have stepped casually from one stepping stone to another, daydreamers walking along the gangplanks of gardens, finding ourselves suddenly aboard a ship whose destinations unknown makes us little more than unaware stowaways wondering onto valiant voyage destined for distant shores yet unknown and undiscovered growth. Who knows maybe the secret to the God Gene awaits like some lost fountain of youth just within for an unexacting child to but turn over the right stone to reveal the golden nugget below? What if today is such a day, for me, for us, because in and around the not so random steps of broader expanses of realization, thoughts of healing begin to find their way into the subtle dispositions of ones mind? I guess I was on a journey to discover health, maybe healing, no truth. What if we have been given in each and every one of our lives, everything we need in which to overcome any and all sicknesses or injuries we might find ourselves facing, but all we have to do is pick up the tools and use them, would we venture another look? Is it not said; "You have not because you ask not?"So what if this particular day is such a day? So I asked...."Why do some people get better and others don't?" "I would that everyone is healed." A whisper, a thought, a causal wind blowing softly with the deepest resonating understanding, softly filling sails of one's mind with invisible power, enough to push the heaviest ships across almost infinite seas. That voice, that pure soft yet powerfully good voice responds."Many ask but rarely stop to listen to what they need to do to receive, or even look up to receive the very gift that is already given."In such days, I found myself wondering and asking, if there is more, and if so what? Why not ask, and since I alone, why not ask out loud? "So if You would that everyone would be healed, what is stopping them, why do only a few seem to be healed?" Not as much as expecting an answer, but merely stating to myself the frustrations I seem to feel with the job as a whole. Then the most shocking answer came instantly and unexpectedly. "They Are!"

Book You Can Heal Yourself

Download or read book You Can Heal Yourself written by Julie K. Silver and published by Macmillan. This book was released on 2012-01-31 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How to heal faster, better, and stronger during recovery from a serious illness or injury—a Harvard doctor's complete recovery plan When people are seriously ill or injured, they receive immediate and often life-sustaining treatment. Then at some point they are usually left to their own devices to "finish" healing. At the time that patients are discharged from treatment or their doctors tell them, "I don't have anything else I can offer you," they are often shifted into a zone where they are better than at their sickest point, but not as healthy as they once were. This zone, between illness and good health, is where rehabilitation specialists focus. Dr. Silver calls this area of medicine, where physiatrists work, The Healing Zone. This is the place where doctors are most concerned with physical and emotional healing after an injury or illness. Our bodies are amazing in their capacity to heal, however, people can be taught how to heal faster, better, and stronger, both physically and emotionally. You Can Heal Yourself offers the strategies needed to achieve optimal healing.

Download or read book Adding Insight To Injury written by Dr. Jamie Bovay and published by Jamie Bovay. This book was released on 2020-06-10 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if everything you thought you knew about injury recovery was wrong? If you have ever been injured, you know that there is an overload of information out there, making it very difficult to decide on a path to recovery. With such a range of diverse and, many times, conflicting information out there, how do you know if you are making the best decisions for your health? If you have ever suffered from back, knee, shoulder, neck, foot and ankle, or other sports injury problems but don’t know what to do about it, this book is for you. Stop wasting any more time and get clarity now. This book focuses on long-term solutions for living a more active and healthy life post-injury, without suggesting unhealthy or unnecessary options such as painkillers, injections, or surgeries. Too many people continue to put off taking care of their health, hoping their pain will “go away soon” or saying that it’s “just a part of getting older.” All the while, these same people become more and more frustrated that they can’t do what they used to be able to or what they would like or need to do in their current everyday life. If you are someone who values your health and wants to continue---or begin---living an active lifestyle, then this book will be your guide, leading you from pain and injury to recovery. Here is some of what you’ll learn in this book: · The false beliefs about injury recovery that could be holding you back and how to avoid making costly mistakes (especially if you already have pain or stiffness) in your recovery journey · Why your pain may not be improving when it should be · What’s needed to recover from injuries in each body region (back, knee, shoulder, neck, foot/ankle, etc.) · How you can stay active with your favorite sport or exercise while improving your pain · How to approach mobility-training exercises to get the most benefit for rehab versus for performance · Steps and advice to improve your overall mental wellness and nutrition How to choose a quality healthcare provider who best fits your needs. Want to truly understand the principles that guide injury recovery? Adding Insight To Injury lays out a blueprint for understanding all of the decisions needed in the rehabilitation process. This book lays out safe and effective approaches for rehabilitating injuries and actionable steps for returning to an active life. With the information in this book, you can make a better, more well-informed decision about your health, allowing you to decide what you need to do to make improvements. Unsure how to put everything together into a program that addresses your individual needs? Applying the principles in this book will allow you to devise a plan to improve your pain, injury, mobility, strength, and return to whatever you need to do. Quality movement is a unique characteristic that helps define us as human beings. But, if we can’t move the way we deserve, it can interrupt our lives. Many times, the causes of pain, stiffness, and poor movement may be difficult to spot on your own. This book gives you the tools to identify and overcome the problems associated with ineffective injury recovery. Whether you are a professional athlete, weekend warrior, someone who just occasionally exercises, or simply want to move and live your life without physical restrictions or impairments, this one-of-a-kind guide will teach you how to take control of the injury recovery process and improve your life. Some of the other topics covered include: · Why letting your injury “rest” is a bad idea · Why stretching and exercise are not likely going to help your pain · When the theory of “no pain, no gain” isn’t something you should follow · The difference between flexibility and mobility and why it matters with injury recovery · Understanding why where you hurt (the victim) isn’t necessarily where the pain is coming from (the culprit) · What is involved in treating common problems like back pain, shoulder and neck pain, knee pain, hip pain, foot and ankle pain, and sports injuries · How to approach strength, flexibility, mobility, and exercise to prevent and rehabilitate common injuries · How to modify and perform cross-training while you are injured · Why beds, pillows, shoes, braces or other items likely won’t help you alleviate your pain, in the long run · Pain and injury timelines as well as rehabilitation guidelines and timeframes · How posture affects your pain · Why you may not have tight hamstrings or hip flexors even though they feel “tight” · What is needed to get rid of your pain and how to fix the bad habits that are slowing your injury recovery · The techniques to try with your workouts or exercise to help with injury preventions · The 53 most frequently asked questions and detailed answers about pain, injuries, and injury recovery This comprehensive guide is meant to be the answer to all of the injury recovery questions you have and give you information needed during the recovery process. Following the advice in this book will help lead you to a happier, more active lifestyle for years to come. About The Author: Dr. Jamie Bovay is one of Colorado’s leading physical therapists and founder of KinetikChain Denver, a clinic specializing in helping active adults avoid the frustrations of pain and injury so they can live their active lifestyles and get back to everything they want, need, and love to do. Book The Healing Path Study Guide

Download or read book The Healing Path Study Guide written by Dan B. Allender and published by WaterBrook. This book was released on 1999-02-16 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: DON'T WASTE YOUR PAIN. None of us escapes the heartache and disappointments of life. To live is to hurt, and we all have the wounds to prove it. Regardless of how we've been hurt, we all face a common question: What should we do with our pain? Should we stoically ignore it? Should we just "get over it?" Should we let it "make us stronger?" Should we optimistically hope that everything will work out in the end? If we fail to respond appropriately to the wounds that life and relationships inflict, our pain will be wasted; it will numb us or destroy us. But suffering doesn't have to mangle our hearts and rob us of the joy of life. It can, instead, lead us to life-if we know the path to healing. Healing is not the resolution of our past; it is the use of our past to draw us into deeper relationship with God and his purposes for our lives. We don't have to be held captive by the hurts of our past. We can move from feelings of powerlessness, betrayal, and ambivalence into faith, hope and love. The Healing Path takes us beyond self-discovery to God-discovery, giving us the tools to excavate the riches that lay beneath the surface of our pain. If you're ready to use the experiences of the past and present to shape a future characterized by love, service, and joy, now is the time to step out onto The Healing Path.
