Download or read book Novel Methods to Study Interfacial Layers written by D. Moebius and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2001-10-30 with total page 533 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a number of selected papers given at the LB9 conference, held in Potsdam, Germany, in August 2000. It is dedicated to new techniques and methodologies for studying interfacial layers. One group of manuscripts deals with the application of surface plasmons at solid interfaces, used for example in resonance spectroscopy and light scattering. New applications of various types of Atomic Force Microscopy are reported making use of various modifications of tips. A number of chapters are dedicated to light emitting diodes built with the help of LB layers. The aim of these studies is the improvement of efficiency. Electrochemical methods were described as tools for developing sensors, in particular miniaturised pH or gas sensors. The application of synchrotron X-ray and NMR techniques have been described in detail in two extended chapters. It is demonstrated how molecular information can be detected by these methods for various types of interfacial layers. This monograph, along with 130 papers that have been submitted for publication in the special issues of relevant journals, represent the proceedings of the LBP conference.
Download or read book Music in English Renaissance Drama written by John H. Long and published by University Press of Kentucky. This book was released on 2014-07-07 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nowhere is the richness and variety of the English Renaissance better shown than in the dramatic works of the period which combined to an unusual degree the arts of poetry, music, acting, and dance. This collection of essays by a number of distinguished scholars offers a series of views of the music of this drama -- ranging from the mystery cycles still performed in the late sixteenth century to the cavalier drama of the early seventeenth. The essays included here are mainly concerned with the minor dramatic forms -- the mystery plays, the "entertainments," the masques, and the works of such playwrights as Marston and Cartwright -- which reveal more extensively the blending of music and drama; and they illustrate a variety of approaches to the dramatic art. The collection as a whole demonstrates the need for an interdisciplinary consideration of this important area of study. Of especial value to musicologists is the bibliography of extant music used in dramatic works of the period.
Download or read book Deer Stand Revelations written by Marty R Perkins and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2021-05-30 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deer Stand Revelations is a collection of revelations that God has given me through life events, outdoor excursions and hunting and fishing adventures. Having always had a love for the outdoors, I have spent most of my life working, playing, hunting, fishing, hiking and just spending time outside. That love turned into a passion for God's creation at the moment of my salvation. God began to speak to me when I was in a deer stand or when I was standing beside a body of water with a fishing pole in my hand. God showed me purpose in His creation and taught me lessons through successes and failures afield. Through a gentle whisper in the wind or a beautiful note from a songbird, He gave me hope. In an errant shot or misplaced arrow, He taught me humility. In an amazing sunrise, He sent me back to my childhood and gave meaning to the good and bad things that I have lived and seen. God didn't give me all of this revelation to keep to myself. He called me to share it with the world. Deer Stand Revelations is my answer to that call. My name is Marty Ray Perkins. I was born on July 21, 1961 in Roxboro N.C. I grew up on a small, family owned, tobacco farm. I have always enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor adventures. I love to look for Native American artifacts. I am a songwriter and enjoy singing and playing the guitar. Spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren, in the outdoors is my favorite pastime. I teach Sunday School and I am an ordained deacon at my church. Writing Deer Stand Revelations is an answer to God's calling.
