Book Greek Foreign Direct Investments in Balkans

Download or read book Greek Foreign Direct Investments in Balkans written by Georgia Moutsilaki and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2011-06 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the last years Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) have rapidly increased in Eastern European Countries. Bulgaria, even though it presents a turbulent environment, receives increasing flows of FDI. This research will examine FDI in Bulgaria from the perspective of a week economy, the economy of Greece. The purpose of this study is to explore the internationalization process of a Greek Small Medium Enterprise (SME) investing in Bulgaria. In order to achieve the research s objectives, a single case study was employed. In particular the motives and barriers were examined as well as the future prospects of the investment. The findings came as a result of applying the eclectic model developed by Dunning, on the internationalisation attempt of the researched company. SMEs have inherent characteristics that affect their internationalisation behaviour. This study can be a useful source of information for anyone that wishes to gain an insight on the internationalization process of a Small Medium Enterprise investing in a turbulent environment.

Book The Balkans Foreign Direct Investment and EU Accession

Download or read book The Balkans Foreign Direct Investment and EU Accession written by Aristidis Bitzenis and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-03-23 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fall of communism and subsequent developments have put a renewed spotlight on the potential of the Balkan economies. Bulgaria, Albania, Serbia & Montenegro, Romania and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are countries which have attracted low levels of investment and poor political leadership in most of the countries has delayed much needed reforms. However, there are now signs of improvement and this timely book fills a significant gap in the available literature. Demonstrating that these countries must engage as fully as possible with the world economy via EU accession, this book explores the implications of the specific characteristics of these countries which have made the transition process more difficult. This exciting new volume is valuable reading for students, academics and business professionals interested in international development in the Balkans.
