Book Uncovering Life s Gold Nuggets

Download or read book Uncovering Life s Gold Nuggets written by John Mudge and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2024-07-02 with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, my dad John, humbly shares a glimpse into his spiritual evolution. His story consists of many material highs and lows, culminating in his roots growing ever stronger in spiritual understanding and God consciousness. His lifetime has consisted of great prosperity in his career through hard work and following his heart. He has also encountered many difficulties including the death of his daughter (my sister), and only a couple years later, the death of his wife (my mom). With loss we reach a fork in the road. Will this material suffering lead us to great lamentation, the seeking of sense enjoyment as distraction, or the ultimate path of transcendental understanding? With his spiritual strength, dad has continually chosen the path of loving servitude aided by deepening his connection to his true soul and its source. I attribute my spiritual path to my father’s influence and hope his story and spiritual maxims in this book can do the same for the reader.

Book Golden Nuggets from the Mountains

Download or read book Golden Nuggets from the Mountains written by Fred B. Lunsford and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2010-12-01 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The late 1920' and early 1930's was the time of the Great Depression. Little or no work was available so people could earn money for survival. All mountain families grew vegetables, kept a milk cow and raised some hogs. Those who owned their mountain farms lived well by working hard and managing well. They cut timber to sell and earn a little money necessary for clothing and other things they couldn't grow. It was widely known that gold had been found in the mountains. Men would put in endless hours panning for gold in the small mountain streams. Now and then, someone would find a gold nugget. Most of the time, it would be the size of a pea or maybe the size of a marble. Gold was a symbol of wealth. When someone found a nugget and word got around, everyone would be talking about Uncle Ben striking it rich. However, I never knew of anyone selling his gold for a pile of money. One day, I realized that gold nuggets were not only present in these mountains, but that there were golden nuggets in the experiences of my life in these mountains. It is with great joy that I share these stories with anyone who cares to read them. Fred Lunsford

Covering everything from relationships to finances and everything in between, this book provides insight that will inspire, challenge, and equip for living a blessed and significant life. This might be Andrew Robbins best book yet. His mix of scripture, psychology, motivational quotes (including those beyond the Christian realm), and overall grace and sensitivity is the finest, most powerful blend I have seen in a long time. There are elements about this work that I have never seen directly addressed in any Christian book. While written to a Christian audience, there is much here that even non-churchgoers can connect with. In a world losing its manners, this book is badly needed." - Brian Blair, Indiana journalist

Book excerpt: The book is about the varied incidents that Roma has experienced in over her eighty-five years. Roma came from somewhat straightened beginnings. Her father was a gold miner, only returning to his home many kilometers away in another state once or twice a year. She was an intelligent child who loved all creatures large and small sometimes a little too well. Her education was a double major at her university in medicine and geology, but family circumstances caused her to have to choose between them partway through her studies. She was the youngest and first female geologist appointed to the government mines section and was sent all over Australia prospecting and examining mining areas. Her adventures along the way make for very amusing and interesting reading. It clearly shows her sense of the ridiculous and also the unexplained in this country. Her downtime between contracts allowed her to do research on a great many science subjects, many of which she gained diplomas from.
