Book The Devil Gods Best Friend

Download or read book The Devil Gods Best Friend written by Pat Regan and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-10 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What a strange and seemingly contradictory title for the latest book in the hard-hitting, Pat Regan collection. In this controversial, no-nonsense attack on fundamentalism Pat Regan illustrates how the international public has been hoodwinked by the devious forces of monotheism into blindly accepting alleged truths, which are in fact nothing of the sort. Myth, Pagan traditions and the bogus nature of world religions are all dealt with in the illuminating pages of this book. Even life after death comes within the exclusive sphere of this revolutionary work. The Devil God's Best Friend takes us to new heights of spiritual awareness about Planet Earth, the place we know as our organic home. Pat Regan's unique Pagan background ensures that he is well-placed to openly hammer out radical issues, such as the serious likelihood that Jesus Christ was just a shrewd but extremely fraudulent invention; created by 1st century myth-makers to promote their sectarian agenda. The 'Devil' may be in the detail, yet the details are stripped bare in this ground-breaking work. Also highlighted are numerous compelling facts, such as how the Bible was a greatly- adulterated fallacy, expediently finalised during a time when any old lady living alone was fair game for witch-burning zealots. The Devil God's Best Friend is an audacious book by a very controversial author who is never afraid to 'tell it like it is!' This engrossing study will open minds and cut through the fog of religious propaganda and ambiguity inflicted on humanity by the self-righteous followers of one-god cults such as Christianity, Islam and Judaism. The Devil God's Best Friend will potentially provoke outrage everywhere and bring the fundamentalist lobby out of the woodwork in droves! It will also tell you 'why' the Devil truly is God's best friend!

Download or read book The Devil s Plan Versus God s Mercy written by Vernon Goff and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2020-11-18 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Known for his wild, rough, and Mafia-like ways, Vernon Goff from Everglades City Florida, was no stranger to the swamp, deep waters, or sawed off shotguns. He eventually found himself on the wrong side of the government and faced the cold hard truths of being an outlaw. In The Devil’s Plan versus God’s Mercy, he tells his story, sharing how despite the devil’s attempt to destroy him, God’s mercy prevailed time and again throughout his life. This memoir chronicles his growing up years, learning to fish and crab in the Everglades and finding a taste for alcohol. Goff tells how drugs and money tempted him and finally undid him. Sentenced to twenty-five years in prison, he had plenty of time to contemplate his past and future. The Devil’s Plan versus God’s Mercy chronicles how Goff fought to overcome his sin and temptation and became a born-again Christian, understanding anyone can serve the devil. It takes a real man to humble himself and serve the living God.

Book The Satan

  • Author : Ryan E. Stokes
  • Publisher : Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing
  • Release : 2019-07-09
  • ISBN : 1467457159
  • Pages : 279 pages

Download or read book The Satan written by Ryan E. Stokes and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2019-07-09 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many people today think of Satan as a little red demon with a pointy tail and a pitchfork—but this vision of the devil developed over many centuries and would be foreign to the writers of the Old Testament, where this figure makes his first appearances. The earliest texts that mention the Satan—it is always “the Satan” in the Old Testament—portray him as an agent of Yahweh, serving as an executioner of evildoers. But over the course of time, the Satan came to be regarded more as God’s enemy than God’s agent and was blamed for a host of problems. Biblical scholar Ryan E. Stokes explains the development of the Satan tradition in the Hebrew scriptures and the writings of early Judaism, describing the interpretive and creative processes that transformed an agent of Yahweh into the archenemy of good. He explores how the idea of a heavenly Satan figure factored into the problem of evil and received the blame for all that is wrong in the world.

Book Satan in the Bible God s Minister of Justice

Download or read book Satan in the Bible God s Minister of Justice written by Henry Ansgar Kelly and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2017-11-16 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Throughout the ages, Satan has been seen as God's implacable enemy, fiercely determined to keep as many human beings as he can from entering the heavenly kingdom. But according to Henry Ansgar Kelly, this understanding dates only from post-biblical times, when Satan was reconceived as Lucifer, a rebel angel, and as the serpent in the garden of Eden. In the Bible itself, beginning in the book of Job and continuing through the New Testament, Satan is considered to be a member of the heavenly government, charged with monitoring the human race. In effect, he is God's Minister of Justice, bent on exposing sin and vice, especially in virtuous-seeming persons like Job and Jesus. He fills the roles of investigator, tempter (that is, tester), accuser, prosecutor, and punisher, but also obstructer, preventer of vice, and rehabilitator. He is much feared and despised, accused of underhanded and immoral tactics. His removal from office is promised and his eventual punishment hoped for. The later misreading of Satan as radically depraved transformed Christianity into a highly dualistic religion, with an ongoing contest between good and evil. Seeing Satan in his true nature, as a cynical and sinister celestial bureaucrat, will help to remedy this distorted view.

This book is here to help you understand the reason for your hope as a Christian so that you can see it with fresh sight and invite others into the conversation. A lot of Christians take their story—the narratives that give rise to their beliefs—for granted. They pray, go to church, perhaps even read their Bible. But they might be stuck if a stranger asked them to explain what they believe and why they believe it. Author, pastor, and theologian Mike Horton unpacks the essential and basic beliefs that all Christians share in a way that is easy to understand and applicable to our lives today. And in a way that will make you excited to be a Christian! Core Christianity covers topics like: Jesus as both fully God and fully man. The doctrine of the Trinity. The goodness of God despite a broken world. The ways God speaks. The meaning of salvation. What is the Christian calling? Includes discussion questions for individual or group use. This introduction to the basic doctrines of Christianity is perfect for those who are new to the faith, as well as those who have an interest in deepening their understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

  • Release : 2011
  • ISBN : 9987081614
  • Pages : 132 pages

Download or read book The Devil in God s Land written by Bereket H. Selassie and published by African Books Collective. This book was released on 2011 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a Drama based on contemporary political realities in some African countries, which arrived at liberation through armed struggle. Eritrea (God's land, according to the ancient Egyptians) is an example of a country and society in convulsion because of the abandonment by its leadership, particularly among the ex-combatants, of the lofty principles of democracy, serving the people, equality and solidarity: aspirations that characterized the rhetoric of the revolution. The incidences and personalities in it are, however, purely fictitious although similarities are bound to exist since the principles during the wars of liberation and the abuses thereafter tend to be the same in all undemocratic countries. Poetic license has been used to draw characters from the army, students, political dissidents and political opportunists, the Catholic Church and a nun who escapes rape but is martyred in the process of resistance. This is a drama with elements of suspense, farce, comedy and tragedy, woven in a way that will not fail to move the reader in and outside Eritrea by the in depth understanding of the inside workings and "intelligence" of a contemporary African dictatorship.

That means they're the kind of lives God gets excited about. While the world worships beauty and power and wealth, God hides his glory in the simple, the mundane, the foolish, working in unawesome people, things, and places. In our day of celebrity worship and online posturing, this is a refreshing, even transformative way of understanding God and our place in his creation. It urges us to treasure a life of simplicity, to love those whom the world passes by, to work for God's glory rather than our own. And it demonstrates that God has always been the Lord of the cross--a Savior who hides his grace in unattractive, inglorious places.Your God Is Too Glorious reminds readers that while a quiet life may look unimpressive to the world, it's the regular, everyday people that God tends to use to do his most important work.
