Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the mind of each person on the planet, a set of notions and ideas of God or gods reside. Some of these systems are basic and simple. Others are highly complex and complicated. Some borrow their God/god notions from authority, or from others they know. Others are much more original - eclectically piecing together many separate parts from multiple sources. No two people in the world experience and translate God/gods in the same way. And this is what makes things so interesting! As I have encountered this wonderful life, I have also bumped up against countless people who were in the position to explain exactly who God was and was not. They were quite sure of themselves, and anxious to impart this wisdom to me. But because I had a mind and heart of my own, this put me on the outside looking in, for much of my life. We all come to a place where we realize we must make our minds up as to what we will and will not do, how we will think and who we will be. As I have encountered them and their God/gods, I have found my own way through this foggy maze, and discovered a modicum of peace and reconciliation in the process. This is the massive task of all of us, as well as why I needed to lay it out to you, in this lengthy, 2-part book.

Book God s Illusion Machine

Download or read book God s Illusion Machine written by Mayesvara dasa and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-12 with total page 534 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the tidal wave of intellectual argument that followed the 2006 release of Richard Dawkins's God Delusion book, a fierce debate has raged between atheism and religion over the existence of God, leaving the world's scientists and laymen largely undecided in their opinion. God's Illusion Machine presents a fascinating alternative to a debate that has largely been argued within the framework of Christian versus science concepts. Drawing upon the world's oldest body of knowledge (the Vedas), the author describes the massive illusion to which we are all subjected as we mistakenly believe ourselves to be physical creations of the material world. In God's Illusion Machine, the material world is gradually exposed as the ultimate virtual reality machine for wayward souls who prefer a self-centred, rather than a God-centred, existence. In contrast to Richard Dawkins's assertion that the religious are suffering a delusion for believing in God, the author argues that both the atheists and the religious are under the spell of God's deluding energy called Mäyä, which acts in reciprocation with a soul's desire to be in illusion within the physical realm. By applying the profound spiritual insights of Vedic knowledge along with a healthy dose of common sense and good humour, God's Illusion Machine is an enthralling exposé of the deceptive nature of the material world and the false claims of materialists regarding the nature of life and love. It is a triumph of spirituality over both atheistic materialism and religious dogmatism. God's Illusion Machine is a work of major importance realigning Western religion, philosophy, and science with eternal spiritual truths, an enlightening read for both the atheist and the religious, bringing spiritual certainty and true love to bewildered souls in troubled times. For atheists who like a good argument, for the religious who are stuck for a reply to Richard Dawkins, for fans of fantasy and sci-fi where forces of light and illusion contend in battle, and for you, the reader, whatever your disposition, this book will forever change your outlook on life and its meaning. As the rising sun disperses the darkness of night, so in the presence of Krishna (The Absolute Truth), mäyä (illusion) cannot stand.

Book Writing God s Book of Life

Download or read book Writing God s Book of Life written by R. Crafton Gibbs and published by R. Crafton Gibbs. This book was released on 2013-08-30 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Logos 5 is the sixth of my ten-volume, Logos 1-7 work, each volume of which is able to stand alone as God’s Book of Life. It took me over 3,000 pages in ten volumes to say How and What is Important to Believe. It seeks to explain by experience who Jesus is, who God is, who the Holy Spirit is, what the Bible is, why it is crucial to life that we believe in them, what “belief” is, what “to be saved” is, just how Salvation is effected, what the “take-away” benefits are, and how to find meaning and purpose in life. “Each of these ten volumes is able to stand alone as God’s Book of Life, portraying Life with the Holy Spirit by belief in the Christ of Jesus as Savior to eternal life with God. The ten volumes relate my Story of Writing God's Book of Life, using nonfiction essays and poetry with daily help of divine intervention in producing the seven-Logos Work of ten volumes, and the four supporting volumes, all seek to fully understand and explain this work inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Christ of Jesus. “The action of God fulfilled for him in seven years all of Rodger Crafton's dreams of becoming a writer of poetry and prose, an armchair philosopher, and an artist working in his new, upstairs garage atelier.”---R. Crafton Gibbs

Download or read book God s Book of Works written by R. J. Berry and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2003-04-01 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: R. J. Berry writes as a professional biologist and as a Christian believer. He contends that the interplay of science and faith requires continual re-examination in the light of scientific developments, with the consequent need to review religious assumptions. To quote from his Preface: "Where science and faith meet, they must be congruent; if they are not, both the science and the religion ought to be examined. Religion cannot drive the content of science, nor can science properly determine the nature of religion."R. J. Berry's treatment differs from traditional work in science and religion in that he intentionally and explicitly extends his exploration of the implications of religious faith for contemporary science to environmental conservation, or 'Creation care'. Professor Berry's expertise in this area is considerable - as an ecologist who has long been involved in developing environmental ethics both locally and internationally. He argues that the contribution of religious belief to environmental science is highly important, not only in theoretical terms but also in practice. This book does not assume extensive, specialised background knowledge. It will be of immense interest to anyone concerned with environmental problems, scientists and religious believers exploring contemporary applications of religious faith.

Book excerpt: This book is not about religion. It is not about dogma or church or sermons. It is not about being Catholic, Lutheran, or Presbyterian. It is not a self help book to help you find out about your faith life. It does not preach about who God should be or how you can find Him. It is a simple story of one person’s journey and how she discovered that she and God truly did fit together. It is a story that I wanted to share because I think that there are many people who are not sure if God really exists but they really want to believe that He does. They’re not sure how to make Him real. I hope and pray that by sharing my story with you, something might touch you in such a way that you will no longer doubt that God really is alive and doing very well.

Book The Whole Gospel according to the Universal Theater of God s Kingdom

Download or read book The Whole Gospel according to the Universal Theater of God s Kingdom written by Catherine Whittier Huber and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2011-01-28 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When our Father of Faith is tempted to sacrifice his sense of humor on the Altar of God's Demands, God intervenes in a surprising way that really makes Abe laugh. This is the same God whose hungry servant, Elijah, is fed by ravens way out on the ragged edge and towards whom Moses manages a sidewise glance while on the lookout for greener pastures. Then along comes another tough act to follow--the Wild Man of Judea appearing in the Galilee Theater and baptizing Jesus of Nazareth in the Jordan River of God's Transforming Power and Hope. Then, in the very next scene, JŽsus ben Dios, the Number One Draft Choice in all of Baseball, hops a trial-ways bus to intensive-training camp where he comes face to face with the temptations and adversities of the real world. Fortunately, JŽsus has his Spring Training Manual handy for quick reference. Jesus then launches his teaching and healing career in many forms: as a dance instructor, farmer, chef--and even as a flamboyant pyromaniac-arsonist who comes not to bring peace to the world but to set it on fire. For who can forget Marshal Jesus out along the Border of Sin and Forgiveness encountering the Ten Men-yon? Or the homefolks' chant, Dr. Jesus, he's our man! If we can't use him, nobody can!? Because when Anglo-Catholic Father Jesus meets an average parishioner at the Holy Water Basin and asks her to bless him with it, their engaging conversation prompts students of the bible and pillars of the church to take a second look in order to watch ordinary altar candles suddenly take on more beauty and meaning than they have ever imagined before. So, for those who have eyes to see: Look!
