Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book demonstrates miraculously, the bible verse Romans 8:28; "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose". Months before my sister's demise, strange and unusual drama began unfolding in our lives. She was told by her husband of seven years that he kept a secret which he needed to unveil because he had asked to be removed from the Federal Witness program. He began speaking to his estranged family and quickly arranged a visit with two brothers and a son. Within weeks of that visit, her stepson pulled into her driveway in a moving van and she was made aware that her husband invited him to move in with them. Almost immediately, he began disrespecting her, causing fights and fear using strong intimidation and before too long, my sister was telling everyone she needed to leave the volatile environment. When I found out she was missing, and after I had spoken to her husband, I spiritually knew in my heart that something terrible had happened. Her body was unearthed 49 days from the day she was murdered.

Book Why Social Justice Is Not Biblical Justice An Urgent Appeal to Fellow Christians in a Time of Social Crisis

Download or read book Why Social Justice Is Not Biblical Justice An Urgent Appeal to Fellow Christians in a Time of Social Crisis written by Scott David Allen and published by Credo House Publishers. This book was released on 2020-09 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prepare yourself to defend the truth against the greatest worldview threat of our generation. In recent years, a set of ideas rooted in postmodernism and neo-Marxist critical theory have merged into a comprehensive worldview. Labeled "social justice" by its advocates, it has radically redefined the popular understanding of justice. It purports to value equality and diversity and to champion the cause of the oppressed. Yet far too many Christians have little knowledge of this ideology, and consequently, don't see the danger. Many evangelical leaders confuse ideological social justice with biblical justice. Of course, justice is a deeply biblical idea, but this new ideology is far from biblical. It is imperative that Christ-followers, tasked with blessing their nations, wake up to the danger, and carefully discern the difference between Biblical justice and its destructive counterfeit. This book aims to replace confusion with clarity by holding up the counterfeit worldview and the Biblical worldview side-by-side, showing how significantly they differ in their core presuppositions. It challenges Christians to not merely denounce the false worldview, but offer a better alternative-the incomparable Biblical worldview, which shapes cultures marked by genuine justice, mercy, forgiveness, social harmony, and human dignity.

Book excerpt: The author of Desiring God reveals the biblical evidence to help us see and savor what the pleasures of God show us about Him. Includes a study guide for individual and small-group use. Isn’t it true—we really don’t know someone until we understand what makes that person happy? And so it is with God! What does bring delight to the happiest Being in the universe? John Piper writes, that it’s only when we know what makes God glad that we’ll know the greatness of His glory. Therefore, we must comprehend “the pleasures of God.” Unlike so much of what is written today, this is not a book about us. It is about the One we were made for—God Himself. In this theological masterpiece—chosen by World Magazine as one of the 20th Century’s top 100 books, John Piper reveals the biblical evidence to help us see and savor what the pleasures of God show us about Him. Then we will be able to drink deeply—and satisfyingly—from the only well that offers living water. What followers of Jesus need now, more than anything else, is to know and love—behold and embrace—the great, glorious, sovereign, happy God of the Bible. “This is a unique and precious book that everybody should read more than once.” —J.I. PACKER, Regent College, Vancouver, British Columbia

Book God Loves Doctrine

  • Author : Moreno Dal Bello

  • Pages : 42 pages

Download or read book God Loves Doctrine written by Moreno Dal Bello and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-12-21 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "DOCTRINE!" It is one of the most despised words among many who consider themselves Christians. It is hated because it is considered to be that which divides Christians, causes strife and prevents unity among the brethren. "Doctrine divides," they say. 'We need unity' etc. This all sounds so nice and is readily accepted as the Christian thing to do, and that it pleases God so much to see people casting aside their differences, respecting each other's point of view and endeavouring to live in ecumenical bliss. Doctrine DOES divide; it does separate. It divides God's children from the children of wrath; it separates God's sheep from the cursed goats, and it differentiates between God's wheat, and the Devil's tares. It is by doctrine that one can know God-Who He is and what He has done. It is through doctrine that God reveals Himself.

Book God Loves Diversity and Justice

Download or read book God Loves Diversity and Justice written by Susanne Scholz and published by Lexington Books. This book was released on 2013-05-16 with total page 251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Both personal and scholarly in tone, this book encourages readers to think theologically, ethically, and politically about the statement that declares: “God loves diversity and justice.” The multi-religious, multi-ethnic, multi-disciplinary, and multi-gendered identities of the eleven contributors and two respondents deepen the conversation. It considers questions such as: Do we affirm or challenge this theological statement? Do we concentrate on “God” in our response or do we interrogate what diversity and justice mean in light of God’s love for diversity and justice? Alternatively, do we prefer to ponder the verb, to love, and consider what it might mean for society if people really believed in a divinity loving diversity and justice? Of course, there are no easy and simple answers whether we consult the Sikh scriptures, the Bible, the Qur’an, the movies, the Declaration of Human Rights, or the transgender movement, but the effort is worthwhile. The result is a serious historical, literary, cultural, and religious discourse that fends against intellectually rigid thought and simplistic belief systems across the religious spectrum. In our world in which so much military unrest and violence, economic inequities, and religious strife prevail, such a conversation nurtures theological, ethical, and political possibilities of inclusion and justice.

Book Confronting Injustice without Compromising Truth

Download or read book Confronting Injustice without Compromising Truth written by Thaddeus J. Williams and published by Zondervan Academic. This book was released on 2020-12-22 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God does not suggest, he commands that we do justice. Social justice is not optional for the Christian. All injustice affects others, so talking about justice that isn't social is like talking about water that isn't wet or a square with no right angles. But the Bible's call to seek justice is not a call to superficial, kneejerk activism. We are not merely commanded to execute justice, but to "truly execute justice." The God who commands us to seek justice is the same God who commands us to "test everything" and "hold fast to what is good." Drawing from a diverse range of theologians, sociologists, artists, and activists, Confronting Injustice without Compromising Truth, by Thaddeus Williams, makes the case that we must be discerning if we are to "truly execute justice" as Scripture commands. Not everything called "social justice" today is compatible with a biblical vision of a better world. The Bible offers hopeful and distinctive answers to deep questions of worship, community, salvation, and knowledge that ought to mark a uniquely Christian pursuit of justice. Topics addressed include: Racism Sexuality Socialism Culture War Abortion Tribalism Critical Theory Identity Politics Confronting Injustice without Compromising Truth also brings in unique voices to talk about their experiences with these various social justice issues, including: Michelle-Lee Barnwall Suresh Budhaprithi Eddie Byun Freddie Cardoza Becket Cook Bella Danusiar Monique Duson Ojo Okeye Edwin Ramirez Samuel Sey Neil Shenvi Walt Sobchak In Confronting Injustice without Compromising Truth, Thaddeus Williams transcends our religious and political tribalism and challenges readers to discover what the Bible and the example of Jesus have to teach us about justice. He presents a compelling vision of justice for all God's image-bearers that offers hopeful answers to life's biggest questions.
